]]>The plugins works, it downloads & updates external links to media library URL.
But what I need is to actually replace the image block & update as same as we do manually i.e. the image block should use the media library image not add the image URL. Is it possible with this plugin?
]]>Hi, there,

Either import these as files or replace the remote images as inline SVG images.
]]>Hi…
Wondering if there’s a way to trigger this plugin from another plugin that I’m building. Little background… we just migrated a very large Drupal site to WordPress and editors for years on the Drupal site have been loading images and referencing them using absolute links to the images. I can build an array of the 10k plus posts and if I’m able to trigger this plugin using the post id… save a lot of time loading into our media library ??
]]>I have recently noticed, that this plugin stopped working for me. It has worked for years. But publishing a post almost every day with a link to an external image, I can say, that for my website it hasn’t been working since the 19th of October 2022. Did something get updated on the plugin around that date?
]]>I’m not clear if there is an option to run a replacement scan. I paste content from an external site, publish it, but nothing is changed. All images are still referenced from external sources. I tried to do it a few times and it didn’t work.
WP 6.1.1, PHP 8.0
]]>Hello, I have this plugin installed that sanitizes the file name, could you make your plugin compatible with this plugin when uploading the image?
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/file-renaming-on-upload/
]]>Hi, I love this plugin. Thanks for building and sharing it! I think an update recently might be causing some issues with the saving of URL path in the media library.
Descripton:
Media still downloads into folders. Links in post are properly updated. (great)!
However, the links in the media library are missing a “/” in the path that includes the date. So, you can’t see the thumbnails and you also get a 404 from inside the media library. Example:
So, in the post the image url is:
https://localhost/test/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/1610462.jpg (correct)
But in the media library the url is:
https://localhost/test/wp-content/uploads/2023/011610462.jpg
Note the missing ‘/’ after the month
Thanks!!!!
]]>This is one of three plugins I’ve used in an effort to import images from another site as part of a migration. It did a good job downloading the external images but none of them were attached to the posts which they were found in. As a result, I have no featured images or thumbnails.
I tried running Auto Featured Image and Regenerate Thumbnails but neither seem capable for attaching the images to their respective posts.

I am using Custom Upload Dir plugin which change the media upload directory. When I use this plugin it is uploading either in /wp-content/uploads/ location or monthly/ location.
How can I change it to /wp-content/uploads/1/ or whatever the name I choose. I check the plugin setting > Base URL: but it’s not changing the directory. I also tried disabled the Custom Upload Dir plugin but that had no effect.
]]>For various reasons, some images on some of my sites are no longer in the media library, e.g. their “author” was deleted. and I need to reconnect them.
Is there a way to trigger the plugin’s function in bulk and/or from a PHP snippet?
Also, how do I configure the plugin to treat the local domain as external and simply ignore images that are already in the library?
]]>Hi,
I need to import images in more than 650 posts since 2009 that currently is in external URL so I tested Auto Upload Images on a post to see if it might be a solution to use.
The post i tested on was created in May 2017 but I can see that the imported images are placed in the folder /wp-content/uploads/2022/06 just as when i create a new post today.
If i import images for over 650 posts it would create a mess if all images where placed in the folder for the current year/month, preferably they should be placed in folders with same year/month as the post where they are used.
I would be very grateful if there is a solution to this when using Auto Upload Images, if not tips for how it can be solved will be much appreciated.
Thanks!
/Tomme
]]>Extra plugin very very useful
But, please add new option in setting image caption,

or

Tested a few posts and this plugin works well, imports the image and changes the URL. My only concern is that it says it’s not compatible with my theme and I am weary about updating 4000 posts, 500 at one time. Please advise.
]]>Hi there. I just realized a problem with my import of 4000+ articles from Square Space to WordPress using this tutorial. https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-properly-move-from-squarespace-to-wordpress/#comment-1902980
Images in the body of the post are linked to Square Space even though I used the “Auto Upload Image” plugin. Only the featured images it looks like were imported to WordPress and linked properly. Is there a way to fix this? I have already fully developed this website and added another 100 posts since.
]]>Hello. Is there a shortcode for category?
]]>Tried multiple image optimizers like shrotpixel and ewww, it seems that when an image is optimized then saved, auto upload doesn’t get it and just makes another version of it in the media folder.
]]>I am using ewww image optimizer
My workflow is copy pasting work from writers into gutenburg after I hit publish or save as draft i see the image directly in the library, if i have auto convert to jpg on for ewww, it works and converts the png to a jpeg. However i still see png on the front end and in the editor, also if i select delete original the image just breaks as it links to the png still.
I have tried disabling the auto-convert and just using the manual convert png to jpeg button in the media library, this works perfectly! So I am thinking there may be some plugin interference and maybe the hook or script to change file names is not running correctly for the front end.
https://www.screencast.com/t/GTfwuFMpFp1K`
ewww support responded with the following “`Hey Andrew,
I checked with Shane on this and he initially thought it might be something with async, but for a PNG, if conversion is enabled, async mode is disabled. He said he tested it and confirmed that async mode was properly disabled during the upload. But, he looked into the Auto Upload plugin code and found that it seems like that plugin is assuming that the filename won’t change. It doesn’t check the attachment metadata after it’s been updated, even though it does receive that updated meta. Since Auto Upload doesn’t have any hooks/filters, there isn’t really anything we can do on our end to address this. At this point, I think I would check with them on if there is any way their plugin can take a situation like this into consideration.`”
]]>Is it possible to import the images into the correct month and year?
They imported ALL images in current month and year – March of 2022 for the past 10 years.
I confirmed that under Settings > Media that it is set to organized uploads into month and year based folders.
Thanks,
