Thanks for creating this nice plugin! I have one ask – I’m trying to eck out as much speed as I can, and am in no need of maxresdefault sized thumbnails at any time. I need to be able to specify sddefault, or even mqdefault, as an overriding option – editing PHP is a viable option for me if necessary. Pagespeed insights LCP, INP FCP, and possibly CLS and TTFB could all be improved.

For example, a thumbnail at maxresdefault is ~160kb, and the sddefault image is ~21kb. And for 10 images, that adds up!

For a single video source type, this is not as critical, but still wanted. For the playlist source type, it’s very heavy, as each of the thumbnails are scaled small, yet are using maxresdefault sized images.

I want to know if Multiple Channels is possible in one embed?

So the idea is to create one page that shows video’s from youtube from more than one channel? Not as an embed of each channel seperately but one list of video’s (new to older) of different channels. So like you would have a list of newest articles, but of different categories.

An in between solution would be a functionality where you can create one page to show an overview of the different channels.

I have used the plugin for a long time now on my free educational site. It usually works fine on all platforms and still on my mobile phone on that version. However, on Chrome on my PC and phone if I pick desktop version on Chrome for android the video bank will not play.

Just the first video works ok.

When you click on another video it just says “active” in the bottom right corner.

So something must have broken somewhere?

I have checked the API on Youtube and I am nowhere near my limit of allowable videos to play.

WordPress and all plugins are 100% up to date.

Any ideas would be very useful?

Not sure if others are having similar issues?

WordPress 6.4.3
Automatic YouTube Gallery 2.3.6

Observation / Issue:
‘ayg-fallback-message’ is loading on frontend with the property of ‘display:none’ even when no live stream is active.

Troubleshooting:
Issue persists when all other plugins are deactivated.
Issue persists when caching is cleared and disabled.
Issue persists when Live Stream Shortcode pages are cache excluded.

I’ve observed that updating the ‘fallback message’ in Automatic YouTube Gallery > Settings > Live Stream can temporarily enable visibility of the fallback message on the frontend (but not always) – and this quickly breaks and defaults to ‘display:none’ again.

Is it possible to adjust an offset for the scroll to anchor when selecting a video to watch? Currently, (for me) the resulting position is clipping the top of the AYG player upon scroll. This requires the user to make a manual adjustment – I’d like to eliminate this ‘small amount of user friction’.

Thank for fixing my previous issues. Currently it is working on my staging website but the first video is too big. The rest are fine but the first one is too big. I just want that big video not to be there. I tried finding an option in the settings to disable this but could not find it. Could you help.

Then I went to elementor to add the shortcode to my homepage so that my channel videos can be displayed but elementor stated that there was a 500 sever error. Your plugin is really good. The player is really big though. If you check my staging website’s homepage, you can see the YT videos there. Is there any way to decrease the player’s size. Its to big right now. Secondly, is there like a lazy load feature for the plugin where the video loads only when someone clicks on the play button, otherwise the homepage loading time will increase.

Edit: I changed the shortcode to [automatic_youtube_gallery type=”channel” channel=”UCLkqtd_uo6n_9KkfRUXblqw” per_page=”5″ thumb_ratio=”75″ thumb_excerpt=”0″ player_ratio=”15″ player_description=”0″]

I changed the player_ratio value to 15 and now the size has changed but now the length is too big and width is too small. I would want like a square player.

Trying to display full description under videos, and get get them to appear in full.

In YTG / Gallery I’ve put in 0 for Video Excerpt Length, and my shortcode has “thumb_excerpt_length=”0” in it. Yet, I’m still getting “[+] Show More” under some of the videos. How do I correct this?

I noticed that there is no setting to change or disable thumbnail excerpt — the thumbnails are showing some except from the description in the title under ayg-thumbnail-excerpt class. Is there a way to disable this without removing it from thubnail.php ?

I have just updated my site to WP 6.02 this morning and it seems to have broken all the galleries.

They come up but with no main video and the gallery you cannot click on.

I have lots of similar pages on my A-level and GCSSE topic site.

I like the automatic-youtube-gallery plugin, however, I would like to add links in our site navigation menu to specific videos on the automatic youtube gallery page.

I can of course click on a listed video in the gallery and it will be moved to the top of the page to be viewed by a website visitor. However, there seems to be no link generated on this page that would allow me to add a link to any given video on this page to appear on the site navigation menu. If a link exists behind the video that one hovers over, it is hidden and only functions if a click event occurs. How can I expose links to each of the videos on the gallery page in order to incorporate them in the site’s navigation menu?

I use your great plugin to create a video gallery for a nonprofit organization’s website. Everything is fine except that some videos can not be payed. The info is “Video unavailable. Watch on youtube”. In Youtube you can watch the video.
All the videos are from my channel so I noticed that this happens with videos that have Copyright claim restrictions. For example this one https://youtu.be/hfZxmdQsjMo. This is an acrobatics gymnastics routine and the restriction is because of the music played.

What should I do in order to be able to play videos on my site using your plugin?
