Simple and clear. Check the dedicated page before installing.

On a non-multisite 4.7.2 build it half works. It gives a false report that my site can communicate securely with www.ads-software.com when I know it cannot.

Simply doesn’t work. This is for a multisite 4.7 – the option that is supposed to appear in the menu isn’t there. Someone else logged this as an issue 7 months ago and no replies ecept for a “me too”.

After months of issues, finally got sick of one client site not updating. Turned out previous developer had been using version control, but no one told me and I missed it. 2 minutes after installing this plugin, everything is ready to go! Perfect.

I had trouble updating to 4.1.1 – unknown issue. I download and activated the plugin in and I was able to update right away!! Sweet.

Does what it says on the tin !

The plugin reported that I could do background uodates.
So I gave it a whirl it reported that it was downloading and then I got
Download failed.: Failed to write request temporary file.
Back to manual updates for me.

Tried to install conventionally, it asked for FTP credentials.
So I downloaded and tried to install via Zip file upload, same thing.
Went ahead and entered FTP credentials, it started installing then stopped.
My php.log shows the following:

Plugins DO normally update, however we get a white screen afterwards.
I was hoping this would help, but unless I can actually install it…

Told me I needed to activate OpenSSL, I activated OpenSSL. Done and dusted

Yes, the plugin 1.1 version works perfect! Thanks.

It does exactly what it needs to do. Nothing more, nothing less. Perfect for checking compatibility. If anyone happens to be confused at all, we have an article on it as well:

I don’t find anything wrong…

I wanted to know if our sites support background updates and the plugin gave me the scoop.
]]>Rating: 2 stars
about.php and update-core.php tells me that my site will receive updates automatically. This plugin, however, tells me it won’t. I says, on condition 4, “Couldn#8217;t retrieve a list of the checksums for WordPress 3.7. This could mean that connections are failing to www.ads-software.com.”
I have never had problems connecting to www.ads-software.com. So what to believe?

The plugin told me exactly why my install couldn’t update. Turns out, my developer is managing my site using version control, and he rocks at keeping things updated.
