]]>Hi everyone,
I’m currently facing an issue with bbPress Forum and bbP Toolkit v1.0.12 on my WordPress website. In my testing version, the bbPress subscriptions are correctly listed for subscription management, including subcategories under main categories like “Overall” and “Hiking.” However, in my production site, only the main categories are showing, and the subcategories are missing.
I’ve checked the setting “Do not show the table with the list of subforums, only show the current forum and the topics,” and it is not enabled. I’ve compared the settings between the testing and production sites extensively, but I couldn’t find any differences. Both sites are using the same theme and plugins. I’ve also tried using the repair options provided by bbP Toolkit and even reinstalled the Toolkit, but it didn’t restore the default settings.
I’ve gone through the troubleshooting steps such as disabling conflicting plugins and switching to a default theme, but the issue still persists. I’ve also cleared the cache to ensure I’m seeing the most recent changes. However, none of these actions have resolved the problem.
If anyone has encountered a similar issue or has any ideas on how to fix this, I would greatly appreciate your input. I’m open to any suggestions or recommendations you may have.
Thank you in advance for your help!
]]>Hello
Today is 11/02/22 and after some troubleshooting i have found the plugin is breaking the site after wordpress updates from version 6.0.3 to 6.1. I am passing this on so that you may fix it to make it compatible for users that are using it or may use it. Thanks.
]]>My website keswickmountaineeringclub.com uses forums, e.g. to log information about rock climbing meets. The Meets forum says it has 113 subscribers, but if you list the subscribers and count them you find there are 93. If you list the notification emails sent out you see (scattered throughout the list of emails in the email log) 20 mails that have been sent to an empty (missing) email address. I’m guessing, but maybe when deleting some old club members the email notification list has not been updated correctly? It looks as if the list of email addresses used to send out notifications is not synchronised with the list of subscribed members. Is there a way to fix this?
I’m currently using WordPress 6.0. bbpress version 2.6.9. bbP private groups 3.9.1. bbp style pack 5.0.5. bbPress Toolkit 1.0.12.
]]>bbpress Toolkit is being reported as “abandoned” by Wordfence. Anyone know what the status is please.
]]>Hi,
Can you update the plugin? This plugin is good but it needs update for stay up to date.
Kind regards.
]]>How can I change the text “[forum: topic]” in the subject of the mention email?
Thanks!
]]>Hello,
The WP debug log indicates:
“PHP Deprecated: Function create_function() is deprecated in /home/wilmin54/public_html/wp-content/plugins/bbp-toolkit/includes/main_page.php on line 702”
The “Only Parent Forums Showing in Toolkit” support topic issue listed above (from 1 month ago) …has also returned since the “WP 5.5” update.
I depend on the custom code: “https://gist.github.com/greathmaster/e67f1ae0feb28c9ab3521b404c8e0544” …to auto subscribe users to forums, based on their interests. But it also will not work unless the child forums are displayed in the Toolkit. So their cause is probably the same.
Very sincere thanks for any assistance to resolve this and/or suggest a more current method that can be used to add and remove new users’ subscriptions.
~April
]]>Hi,
The bbPress Forum is working fine. This issue is with being able to use bbP Toolkit v1.0.12 to manage subscriptions for users.
In the older (testing) version of my site, these bbPress subscriptions are correctly listed for subscription management:
OVERALL
– Overall Alerts
– Overall News
– Overall Volunteer
– Overall Website
HIKING
– Hiking Alerts
– Hiking News
– Hiking Gear
– Hiking Carpool
…etc
But in my production site, only the Categories show now:
OVERALL
HIKING
…etc
This setting is not checked: “Do not show the table with the list of subforums, only show the current forum and the topics”. I’ve compared the settings for hours, but can’t find any cause. The testing and production sites have the same theme and plugins. I’ve used all of the bbP Toolkit repair options. And reinstalled Toolkit, although it didn’t reinstall with the default settings.
Any ideas would be very greatly appreciated.
Regards,
~April
If you have several thousand users, how can you get a list of users that are subscribed to a particular forum? With the bbP Manage Subscriptions plugin I could sort according to a column. This seems to be no longer possible with the bbPress Toolkit.

When we disabled the plugin the site performance go way better.
Any idea how to address this so that we can continue to use the bbp-toolkit plugin?
Thank you,
Erik
I installed the plugin at the latest WordPress version for the Do not show the table with the list of subforums, only show the current forum and the topics’ in the Information tab.
But that doesnt work.
Is it correct? Will this plugin be abandoned?
The bbp-tookit plugin is getting thrown every time we try to access the backend of our site. It throws the following “slow error”:
script_filename = /www//.wordpress/wp-admin/index.php
file_put_contents() /www/wp-content/plugins/bbp-toolkit/includes/gen-css.php:62
bbptoolkit_generate_css() /www/wp-content/plugins/bbp-toolkit/includes/plugin-mgmt.php:70

It’s attempting to create a CSS and it can never generate it, so it blocks the entire access to the WordPress dashboad.

]]>Hi Pascal,
Here’s hoping you are still maintaining this plugin…
I am designing a new forum and using bbPress.2.6-rc-7, ass it seems it may be released soon… Have been using your plugin for a good while on a different site/forum…
One thing 2.6 is doing is when replying to a reply it is inserting the reply field/text area under the specific reply that is being replied to… Which is nice, as this has not be happening for a while in previous bbPress version…
When TinyMCE is activated in your plugin, the inserted reply field, but not the main topic reply field that is otherwise at the bottom, are dead, no cursor and one cannot type anything in them… Uncheck the TinyMCE setting in your plugin and they are live again…
I tried a function I googled to add TinyMCE to bbPress, and it does exactly that, but the same issue occurs when the function is active…
Here’s hoping you have some time…
Kind regards,
John.
Hello there,
I am using your plugin on a website charged with latest WP, Buddypress and BBpress.
It is impossible to add a link in new topics, whether just pasting the URL, or using the link button (or the tiny mce your plugin may add). the link just does not display (although I can clearly see it in editing mode).
there is no such problem when answering a topic, just when posting a new topic
the problem disappeared after disabling your plugin, so I have a conflict there and do not know what to do !
May you help ?
thanks
]]>Hi
Since i use your wonderful plugin, i have an issue with the display of the descriptions of my sub forums. The layout of these is broken and it does not show any more all the elements.
I already try to desactivate all others plugins but the problem come from your plugin and I can not find the problem of your plugin.
Could you consider giving me some help about that ?
If you want to access to site, here is the id and password: blogfcombeta / e8556cb8
Thanks.
]]>Hi there,
I found two funny issues which are maybe related, so I post them together.
When @mention is used in the forum you get mail – that works. But:
1: When typing “@” a box does not popup to select a user to tag on all accounts >>
It works on profile https://cl.ly/c741fd972535
Does not work on compose: https://cl.ly/1c412aba3f58
Does not work in forum: https://cl.ly/d173bd9a825d
2: notification only works of admin, not for users:
User sees: https://cl.ly/37a88278fad5 (no notification after @mention in forum)
Admin sees: https://cl.ly/0c3f7bf9dd08
I have done plenty of testing but can’t seem to figure out why it happens. Hopefully you can be of help.

Thanks for a great plugin. I am using it primarily to manage subscriptions. I will solicit a donation from my users.
Some comments/suggestions/requests
NB My site has structure of forums including sub-sub-forums. I have previously requested that you include these.
(1) Global options
I have considered that when a topic is created, I automatically subscribe all subscribers to the containing forum. Not using that at the moment. Candidate option for your global settings? The code is quite simple.
(2) On the close forums tab, it does not include sub-sub-forums
(3) Subscriptions tab
I have my own code to automatically subscribe new users, but I would prefer to use this plugin as it gives better flexibility for choosing which forums to auto-subscribe to. But the list does not include sub-sub-forums
The list includes category forums. Subscribing to these is meaningless. Should their tick box be omitted?
(4) On the manage subscriptions for forum and manage subscriptions for topics pages
The user name is repeated three times e.g. alter – alter – alter. Not sure why.
It would be great if it were possible to adjust the names per page, as you can on many backend pages such as the forums list. As it is, to subscribe all users, you need to work through all the pages in turn, rather than being able to select all users in one go.
(5) On the user’s subscription page
Sub-sub-forums are not listed
The subscribe process is a dropdown box, so you can only subscribe one forum at a time, which is very tedious and sub-sub-forums are not available. IMHO it would be better to display all forums with a subscribe/unsubscribe to all selected, much as you do for the forums and topics pages.
Thanks again for your work.
]]>This plugin can pre-tick the subscribe button for new topics.
Can you also provide for pre-ticking the box for reply authors to be subscribed to the topic?
I presently have custom code for this.
]]>I presently have custom code to subscribe new users to most forums. This plugin could take over from my custom code. However, it only lists forums and sub forums. I have sub sub forums.
Could you extend the depth, please?
]]>With the recent updates to WordPress….apparently they have invalidated this plugin.
Nothing — and I mean, NOTHING — that I changed in this plugin worked. It’s as if I never installed this plugin at all. Not even an error message.
Are you addressing how incompatible your plugin is with recent versions of WordPress? PLEASE DOOOO…I love the concept and it would be highly useful if it ever works again.
]]>Hi to everyone!
I have installed the plugins bbpress and bbp toolkit.
With bbpress, I created 96 different forums and with bbp toolkit, I need to configure user access to these forums.
The problem I have, is that the bbp toolkit panel shows me only the first 53 forums and not all of them.
Any ideas?
Thank you very much!
]]>I have changed the “Oh bother” text with my own text and Saved settings but the changes don’t seem to have taken effect. Is there any other setting I need to change before the changes are applied ?
