Hi,
We have installed your plugin to our bbPress forum. We could allow the users to vote for replies on topics, but the replies would not be sorted based on the number of votes. Any idea why it happened?
Thanks
This plugin adds his JS scripts in the method function public_enqueue_scripts(){
on the all pages. ( This method is placed in the file : https://plugins.svn.www.ads-software.com/bbpress-like-button/trunk/class.bbpress_like.php )
So it produces javascript errors for us. This code is required on the BBPress pages only.
It’s better to check if we are on the BBPress page or not.
Personally, I have fixed it in this way :
if ( class_exists( ‘bbPress’ ) and is_bbpress() ) {
// wp_enqueue_script …
where is the translation file???
I tried to translate with Poedit and I couldn’t because he says that doesn’t understated your plugin. ??
Hi,
Great plugin, simple and easy.
Is there will be in near future, feature “unlike button” ?
Hi, Plugin works great thanks for sharing!
Is there a way to show the number of likes to people who are not logged in. Now it shows nothing at all cause not logged in users can not like posts, but it would be nice to show them the number of likes there are on a post.
Hi there,
I have had requests by users on our website to add a ‘like’ button for bbPress forum replies. This plugin looks to be exactly what we need but we are using WP v4.1.1.
Is there an update coming soon, or can I safely use this with 4.1.1?
Hi, i have a website https://www.ekpeyekingdom.com/forums/topic/what-is-your-favourite-ekpeye-name/ and cannot get your like button to work? I am using WP 4.1 and the latest version of bbpress and the latest version of your like button. I can get it to show up in the posts by adding bbp_like_button()
to my theme (AVADA) functions.php. However, it just has ‘infinate loading’ i.e. the likes don’t register. Any idea what i can do to fix this? i really need the ability for people to be able to like posts. I have disabled the plugin for now. I am also using the latest version (BBPress Like Button 1.5).
Hello,
When i activate this plugin something strange is happening in my settings part of the admin dashboard.
When I save let’s say the general settings it is saving the data but printing the message : “Settings saved” twice.
How can I stop this and more important can it damage my site?
It only happens when this plugin is activated.

Any plans to addapt it as Karma for Users ?
Some icon, or similar, under User avatars to thank user (once per logged person), not replies ?
Something very basic and simple, it doesnt need to have backend listing, just display of values under avatars in topics.
Removed bbpress as part of a site reconfig, now all I or anyone else gets when attempting to access site is an error message against white background:
“bbPress Like Button needs bbPress installed and activated in order to work.”
Can’t access site to fix. Tried deleting from File Manager, no dice.
Did some know? how add this functions?
Hello,
My theme is using the real names link on activity stream, and I would like to keep that uniform. How do I change the code to display the real names instead? This is the code the theme uses to call for the real name:
$user_liked_html = ''.esc_html( $user['name'] ).'';
I need help adjusting it to the plugin’s php that calls for this action.
Another question is- where do I remove the () around the numbers of people who liked the topic?
Thank you!
Hi
I know that the Like Button plugin has only been tested to 3.9.2, but as we thought that your plugin looked brilliant – we gave it a go on 4.0.1. We firstly tested it out on a test website, no problems seemed to manifest themselves – so we put it into live. Unfortunately within a couple of days our VPS server suffered a kernel panic and crashed. This issue then occurred a few days later, so we uninstalled the plugin and all has been well ever since. This of cause may be an issue with your plugin clashing with one of the other plugins installed (rather than the version of WordPress), but I haven’t managed to get to the bottom of the problem. If you would like more info please ask and I will try and provide you with any relevant stuff.
However we still like your plugin and will use it when we can.

Andrew Sharp
Hi there,
I was going to make a reply to this topic (of the same subject here):
https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/display-username-of-the-likers?replies=2
However, my question is a little different.
Is the a way to do either of the following:
– display the Liker’s names upon mouse hover?
– display the liker’s names upon div tap (ie. Tablet user tries to the number or containing
of the plugin. ?)
– or much preferbly show the names under the button or somewhere on the post (much like how VB, xenForo, etc… do it ?
Please advise & thank you in advance for your responses.
The Like Button on my website has stopped working. When it’s used it takes the user to the top of the page and doesn’t register likes.
It used to work fine. Is anyone else experiencing this problem or does anyone have suggestions for what might be causing it?

1. I think it would be helpful if there was an option in the settings to choose between a “Like” button or a “Thanks” button.
2. Would it be easy to list a user’s recieved “Likes” or “Thanks” under their username on all of their posts?
3. I would love an option that allowed me to toggle between placing the button at the top, bottom, or top+bottom of a post.
This plugin has been a huge help for our little community but my users are clamoring to know _who_ likes each topic or reply. Is that already possible? If not, is it being considered for future enhancements?
Is there a way to limit the number of likes that show up in a widget where I have placed the shortcode? It just seems to go and go. Right now it is up to 20 which takes up a lot of my sidebar real estate. Thank you
Hi there, I’d like some higher visibility options for likes, I have two suggestions:
1. The option to have a higher visibility coloured like button, to draw their attention to the like feature.
2. In the topics summary view, there are already columns to show how many Voices and Posts there are, it would be great to show likes in the same format, so you could look at the summary of the topics and get a better feel of how good a topic is.
“bbPress Like Button needs bbPress installed and activated in order to work.”
I tried activating it as network plugin or single site plugin.
Buddypress is network installed.
Hello, the “Like” button grays out when I click it, but there is not counter by it, and it doesn’t show up in activity. I have quite a number of plugins, but I’m hesitant to shut them all off, because whenever I do I have to go back in and reset a lot of the information on some of them, and I inadvertently miss some ??
Is it supposed to show up in all activity? User’s page, Friends activity, sitewide activity?

https://jordiplana.com is down.
I’m trying to find out if this plugin can be applied to only a specific forum rather than all of the forums in a BBPress installation.
Also can it be used to automatically rank posts by popularity?
Hi there!
I have installed your plugin, and it gets me a bit strange rror. Both shortcodes – liked and liking – end up with the same users and style, so there is no way how to tell who liked a post, only which users did like something. Is this a bug on my site, or something that can be fixed?
Cheers,
Illsteward
Awesome plugin! We would like to have different like buttons for different forums. For example we have a prayer wall forum that would need a pray (like) which would turn to prayed (when liked/prayed). It is really the only exception to the rest of the forums that I can think of right now, but let me know if this is something that can be done as soon as you can please.
Under the section on Buddypress Integration in the plugin description i it reads:
Enable the like button to appear on the activity stream for BuddyPress.
I interpret that as there now being the functionality to like activity stream items, is this the wrong interpretation?
Ive installed the latest version of the plugin but don’t see a like button in my activity stream.
