]]>Hi bbPress Notify Team,
Thanks for this awesome plugin, I just had a question.
Is there a way that instead of wordpress users(Editor, subscriber, administrator) the notifications will based on the forums users (Moderator, Keymaster, Participant)?
Or any modifications in functions.php to achieve this function?
Thanks

]]>We’ve used this happily for months but recently emails stopped working and I was advised to install WP Mail Bank .. before this there was no SMTP Plugin we were just using php mail() (?)
With this SMTP Plugin, emaails work again BUT, the administrator gets a notification email for all new posts like below. how do I stop these coming?
I fear it involves amending bbpress-notify/bbpress-notify.php … if so, I’m not a developer so how…?

Hi
I have a question about your plugin bbpress notifications.
I don’t understand the functionality of your plugin fully.
I have the following need, can that be full-filled with your plugin.
I want users of my bbpress forum give the possibility to tag people (usersnames of users they know)
In their post, so that the tagged people receive an email notification to the emailaddress that is known in my database.
I have tried tagging within bbpress, but that didn’t work, I don’t know why.
I have tried something called “mentions” but that didn’t work, I don’t know why.
So I want to know if your plugin can do what I want.
If not yet, know that more people on the bbpress forum really wants this feature and I am willing to donate money for it.
Please let me know.
Be Happy, Stay Happy
Conrad
Is there a way to configure it to send the notification e-mails in HTML format?
Thanks,
L
]]>Hi guys,
The plugin is working fine but the strange thing is that the plugin sends duplicated emails to the wordpress users. Is there an explanation for?
Hope someone got the solution for this, i would like to only send it 1 time….:)
]]>Hello –
Your plugin – bbPress Notify – has been working PERFECTLY for us – for several months. (Thank you so much for your work!)
Suddenly (meaning approximately a week or two ago) — there is a huge time delay – that happens when a new topic is created . . . Allow me to explain a bit, and please ask – if I can provide more info that would be helpful, I’m happy to do so.
I don’t truly know that any of this is the “fault” of the bbPress Notify plugin . . . however, as I will attempt to explain, when I remove the ‘large group’ from the list of “those who receive notification emails”, everything works correctly again . . . so it certainly does SEEM to be something that has changed — with bbPress Notify plugin — at least, as it pertains to sending notifications to 250 people . . .
Our site has approx 250 users of the bbPress forums.
bbPress Notify is set up to send notification of all New Topics – to all 250 users (and this WAS working just fine).
Replies are sent only to those users who subscribe to the topic – (and only a few seem to subscribe to each topic).
NOW (I believe this began in the last couple of weeks) – when a user clicks the submit button (to submit a New Topic) . . they experience a “stall” – or “delay” . . . where the cursor spins, and any browser ‘page loading’ indicators appear to be ‘stuck’ . . . and it appears that “nothing” happens . . . for approx 1-2 minutes (this used to take only a few seconds) . . and then most users are not sent to their posted topic page, but rather, they are sent to an “Error” screen (which does vary slightly), but most often they see the not-so-specific ‘internal server error’ screen.
Best info I can seem to get is that “a script keeps timing out”.
HOWEVER — even after the long wait, and the error pages, the post DOES get submitted . . . and the emails DO go out as they used to go (to all users) . . . . so it DOES still ‘work’ – and this is GOOD . . . but . . . it is taking WAY too long to get there, and it didn’t do that before. :-\
The long delay did not occur originally . . . and, of course, it now causes users to re-submit / try again / etc – which causes a snowball effect of other issues . . .
I also know — that if I change the Notify settings – and set it to send to . . . about 10 people — (other roles) rather than all 250 users . . . it works like it’s supposed to (time from clicking ‘submit’ – to seeing the post on the forum – is minimal, and the notification emails go out as they should).
I’m working on nailing down a more specific time frame – in hopes of being able to identify whether the issue coincides with any “updates” – to the plugin OR to WordPress . . . or . . ??? I DO realize that it MIGHT coincide with updating either WordPress itself – or with the most recent update of Notify, although I cannot (yet) verify this . . .
Honestly, I don’t see how the Notify update could possibly affect this — but then I’m NOT a programmer . . . .
I did not update the Notify plugin immediately when the latest update became available, but I did update it, and this is happening with the new update (version 0.2.2). I tried resetting it back to version 0.2.1 — but that did not solve the problem at this point. (maybe I didn’t set it ‘back’ correctly, or . . could something be ‘corrupt’?)
Has something changed — that puts a limit on how many users the notifications can be sent out to?
Is the Notify script – actually “running through” every individual user’s email – before it “finishes” the topic creation?
If that is the case, is there some way that I can “group” the users — so that Notify will send ONE email – to the ‘group’ . . . and my ’email service’ can distribute to individual users?
I do not really understand – but I’m willing to try to follow the progression – as one script / function / action goes to the next . . . (although I’d appreciate any help to get started) . . . . I don’t know how to “track down” when / where / what is “stalling” . . . . ??
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks – in advance.
When a topic creator is sent an email regarding a reply to their topic there is a body to that email that I cannot find the text for. Our company wishes to change what is said but I cannot seem to track it back to where the text is coming from.
Any and all useful help is appreciated.
“You are receiving this email because you subscribed to a forum topic.
Login and visit the topic to unsubscribe from these emails.”
This is the text I am looking to change.
]]>Hey Andreas,
Thanks for your plugin.
I m having a problem with the tag “[reply-title]” in reply notification.
The tag is interpreted as “Answer to topic-name” in the email i receive.
My conf looks of :
New answer from [reply-author] on [reply-title]
To read it, please follow the link : [reply-url]
Which renders
New answer from John on Answer to: my test subject
To read it, please follow the link : …
Any idea of what s going wrong? Problem with the last release?
Thank you for your feedback,

]]>Hello,
If I uncheck all options in “Notifications about replies are sent to” I see php-error:

]]>Hello,
Great plugin! Still trying to toggle the settings to figure out how to get it working best for my site.
Could you confirm, the options for notifications, e.g:
Blog owner
All Administrators
All Editors
All Authors
All Contributors
All Subscribers
Are they the user ‘site roles’?
So if all of my users have the site role of ‘subscriber’, they will get a notification, even if they they haven’t clicked ‘subscribe’ for a particular forum or topic?
I suppose I am just a bit confused about what a ‘subscriber’ is in this context. Is it a site user role, or someone who choses to subscribe to a forum/topic on the front end?
Simple question, and your answer will be really useful to me in figuring out this puzzle.
Many thanks!
]]>Hi,
Firstly – great plugin, does what we wanted it to do for our club website.
However, some members wanted one feature and I’m not sure how to set this up.
QUESTION 1
The “From” email address on replied and/or new forum posts should be “from” the email address of the member who posted the reply or forum post, rather than the system email address.
Is this possible?
How would we achieve this? (there doesn’t appear to be a setting for this).
QUESTION 2
SOme other members have also requested a feature which appears to be quite well outside of the scope of the existing plugin, but I’m adding here as it is related to the functionality of this plugin.
What they want is for a reply to the email they got to go onto the website automatically. So, they receive a new post notification, and reply to it with some words, and they want for this to be posted to bbPress forum as a “reply” under their name without them having to login. I’ve read up on this, and it is a much requested feature of bbPress which doesn’t appear to exist.
Anyone know of anything that works in this manner?

I am using this plugin with wordpress[3.8] and bb press[2.6] but not able to get the notification email, after creating new topic from admin panel.

Can anyone help/suggest.

]]>Is there any way I can prevent bbPress Notify from emailing me notifications about my own posts?
]]>Hi!
I have a strange problem with the plugin: Once a user posted something, the plugin sends the same emails three times at once.
How can I change that? Seems like a bug?
Furthermore, all emails go directly to the spam folder, but that’s something the plugin can’t handle, I think.
]]>I would like to see the option to notify custom user roles. Currently, even after creating a custom user role, you cannot make an option to notify them.
Regarding “Notifications about new topics are sent to” option.
Respond as soon as possible. All help is appreciated.
]]>I have a simple bbpress install and I would like bbpress to email everyone who is a user. I thought that is what this plugin would do. It installs fine, but when I post new topics in my forums, my users don’t get any emails. I don’t want the users to have to subscribe – by being a user, they have subscribed for this purpose.
Thanks!

In bbpress-notify.php, from lines 321 to 326, you have 6 errors :
you define callback function with constants instead of strings.
Eg: _topic_recipients_inputfield
instead of '_topic_recipients_inputfield'
Please update for bbpress 2.2.2 with dynamic role, thank you in advanced!
]]>The page to configure the notifications is no where to be found. Where should it be located?
]]>Hi Andreas,
First of all, congrats on the plugin. It’s really handy!
One suggestion I’d like to make, however, is that you trigger the notification only if the comment hasn’t been flagged as spam by Akismet.
Cheers,
