the plugin successfully created 600+ threads for each page and post on my website as it should, but it didn’t copy the comments content and there are 0 comments in the forum.
I did do this on a staging site and not on the production site, wondered if that would be the reason.
Anyway, I’d like to know how to make this work.
Thanks

Will it be possible in the future to set up a forum that is linked to a custom post type created with ACF? If this were possible, there would be no need to set up a linked forum for each page, which would be convenient. Bulk configuration of dedicated forums for ACF custom post types

Hi,
is it possible that one can put just a link below a blog post which links to the bbpress forum topic? I don’t want to have the forum topic replies below my blog post.
Any help is appreciated.

Hi!
I love this plugin and I like to use it to boost my forum, but I don’t want it to affect my post comment section appearance. I don’t like neither the forum box nor the link to forum that it puts to replace the comment section. I want the comment section to remain the same, while each new comment is in the backend being copied/pasted to the specified forum.
How do I do that?
Thanks in advance.
Kindly.
Is there a way to copy comments from a forum thread back to WordPress’ regular comments system?
While this plugin works well, it doesn’t suit my use-case after all (e.g., too much noise in the recent topics section). So I want to revert back to using regular comments. I just don’t want to lose the discussions.
Trying to figure out what order of configuration needs to happen for the element to show up. The plugin details has a link to a tutorial, but that page is dead.
Initially we had comments disabled, and nothing showed up on our Posts when this plugin was enabled. The topics are being created and linking back to posts, but posts aren’t interacting with topics.
We tried instead enabling comments to see if that is required, but that doesn’t work either.
Using Avada, so I assume that’s the conflict. If we add the Comment element of Avada to the layout then the comment system appears, not the bbPress topics/links.
Anyone have experience getting this working with Avada?
Hi, thanks again for great plugin.
I have one issue which I can’t solve.
Participants can’t add new replies in topics – they have a message instead of reply form: Forum are blocked. Administrators and moderators can add reply without any issue.
This is strange because under the post itself (which is cloned as a topic on the forum), Participants can add reply too, but not in the Forum.
Any idea how to solve this?
Thanks in advance

Hello! Really in love with the concept of this plugin as this brings almost seamless wordpress integration with bbpress, but I’d like to tobknow if it would be possible to crate a new topic on a forum relative to the category(ies) on posts?
For example: the post category is News + Games, by publishing that post, it gets ‘mirrored’ onto a designated forum.
Currently I tried to develop my own plugin via categories and forum IDs but I can’t get the postbto show up where I want to.
Anyway, hope this feature gets implemented in the future!
Great work as always!
I create new posts in the forum, duplicating the wordpress entry correctly.
But how can I collect a custom field, so that my modules load correctly?
In my input the function picks it up like this:
$idcamp = get_post_meta(get_the_ID(), ‘id_campeonato’, true);
Of course, when I duplicate creating a post, it doesn’t exist. Any glorious ideas?

Hi! Can I safely upgrade to PHP 8 with your plugin while using this plugin?
Hey “Post Comments as bbPress Topics,”
Let me begin by saying I love your plugin! Conceptually, it’s fabulous, it adds a ton of value to my site, and it works really well, except for one major problem, which is (unfortunately) a dealbreaker unless I can find a fix.
I’ve discovered a conflict with the plugin and Sucuri’s firewall. The firewall keeps blocking all comments left on my bbpress forum when your plugin is active. (The site returns Sucuri’s “Access denied” error / code: EXPVP100 “Exploit attempt denied by virtual patching.”) I’ve taken all of the necessary steps to diagnose this (changed to a default WordPress theme, disabled all plugins, and removed all css and php modifications/snippets). I learned that when your plugin is active, I get the error message from Sucuri, but when the plugin is disabled, I’m able to receive website comments on my bbpress forum without issue, while my theme, other plugins, and all css/php modifications are in place. This goes without saying, since the issue is a conflict, but to be clear, when the Sucuri firewall is disabled and your plugin is active, visitors are able to post comments, so your plugin works fine.
I reached out to Sucuri first, to see if they could help. Unfortunately, they aren’t able to disclose the intricacies of their firewall for obvious security reasons, so they can’t tell me where the conflict is. I’m hoping you can. Are you currently aware of any conflicts between your plugin and Sucuri’s firewall? It’s a fairly popular service, so I’m hopeful you may have encountered this issue before, and can offer a solution. Any idea how I can navigate this problem? I’m considering bypassing Sucuri’s firewall by whitelisting a path that will allow my site visitors access to my bbpress forum topics so they can successfully post their comments, but I’m not sure what that path would be.
Currently, my site has a general bbpress forum page (e.g., domain.com/forum-root/forum/) and over 150 individual topics (e.g., domain.com/forum-root/forum/topic), each one relating to an individual blog post on my site. I’m using your plugin to display each topic on the corresponding blog post’s page (e.g., domain.com/post-name/). My end goal is for site visitors to be able to leave comments on the individual blog post pages (e.g., domain.com/post-name/), not the topic pages (e.g., domain.com/forum-root/forum/topic). Unfortunately, I cannot simply whitelist the path to each blog post page because that would require me to whitelist roughly 150 URLs on my site, essentially rendering the firewall useless. I tried whitelisting the general forum page (e.g., domain.com/forum-root/forum/) as well as the individual topic’s page (domain.com/forum-root/forum/topic) but neither of these actions allowed site visitors to leave comments on the individual post pages (e.g., domain.com/post-name/).
You’re most familiar with the creation and organization of your plugin (i.e., its folders), so I’m wondering if you can tell me which path(s) I could try whitelisting in order for site visitors to be able to successfully leave comments on individual post pages (e.g., domain.com/post-name/), without having to whitelist every single post’s URL. I’m sure there’s a way for your plugin and Sucuri’s firewall to work together, I’m just not familiar enough with the backend of the plugin to know what I need to do to make that happen.
Thank you! ??

I have MathJax enabled on my website so that math equations can be rendered. I create a post with title A Blog with $a=b\sin\theta$ as equation
and use the same as test content.
Wordpress displays that blog with both the title and context correctly with the equation rendered correctly.
However, this plugin strips the backslashes from the title and the forum topic renders the title incorrectly but the content correctly.
Now, if I create a topic manually with the math title and content, then both the title and content is rendered correctly.
Therefore, this plugin strips erroneously backslashes from the title. Thanks in advance for looking into this matter.
When a topic is created by this plugin in forum-one, then forum-one’s topic count is one more than what it should be.
Now if a second topic is created by this plugin in forum-two, then forum-two’s topic count is one more however forum-one’s count is now correct.
Now if a topic is created manually in forum-three, then forum-three’s topic count is incremented correctly and forum-two’s topic count remains one more than what it should be.

When I publish a post or page and select the forum, it adds the topic. But it doesn’t connect it with the post or page. So I see WordPress comment section instead. When I input the SLUG to use an existing topic, it still won’t connect. I have had issues with this for over a year, after a major WordPress update was made where jQuery was libary changed. You can see a topic on that here:
https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/clicked-checkbox-for-creating-linking-post-didnt-work/
As time has progressed it has got harder and harder to make the topic connect. Sometimes it worked on the third post or page update and sometimes it took dozens of attempts to get it to connect. Finally the inevitable day has arrived where new posts and pages just won’t connect ever, to the topic.
I’ve tried disconnecting plugins and still the same problem.
For years I’ve been using html center tags and bold tags to customize my link text, but this suddenly stopped working. The tags are now displayed with the link text on the front end, whereas prior to this, only the link text would display, centered and bold. I’m wondering if it is related to anything in the most recent updates, or if you have any ideas on how to remedy my situation.
Hello!
In the settings I have in “bbPress Topics for Posts Defaults” the value “A link to the topic” and in “bbPress Topics for Posts Strings” as the link text:
Discuss
Prior to the version 2.2.4 that gave me a button with the text “Discuss”. With the version 2.2.4 that no longer gets evaluated, i.e. on the page now literally stands Discuss
.
@robin-w and @nickchomey thank you for all your work and dedication
Could you please add one line of code in function build_topic
so that the array $new_topic_data
includes the line:
'post_name' => $post->post_name,
around line 490 of index.php
Now the slug of the topic will be the same as that of the post.
