Hi,
I used BBpress to create my forum site, after having setup the right sidebar to show the users activities, but it doesn’t display on my site, some one suggested my to setup your plugin, but it diesn’t work, may be I don’t know how to custom, can you tell me how to setup ?
Thank you very much !
It looks like this plugin is what I need. I want a bbpress sidebar so I can display search and tags on my main forum page., not just the topic page. BUT…
a. I have wordpress 6.3 and this plugin is only tested up to 6.2.2
b. When I go to bbpress sidebar widget I can add the search but there is no option to add the forum tags. The option is Tag Cloud and that is the blog posts tags, not the forum tags.
Anyway of doing this without the plugin, or using another bbpress plugin?
Will bbpress WP Tweaks be updated and tested with the latest WordPress versions? It has warnings on it about being out of date.
]]>I’m very new to BBPress so forgive me if it’s really obvious.
I created a Forum in my website and it was all working just fine until, I went into the WP Dashboard, then into Settings, then into WP Tweaks, scrolled all the way down to the bottom where there is the option, Enable widget “(bbwptw) bbPress Login Links”, I removed the “check mark” on this option, clicked on “Save”.
Now, when I click on the links to go into, any of the two Forums I have previously created, I get a blank white page.
I went back and put the “check mark” back on the option I turned off that cause this problem but that didn’t fix it. I’m not sure if this is normal or part of the problem, but I noticed that when you click on one of the forums, it now has “/forums/forum/” in the URL. Not sure if there should be two like that. Looks odd to me.
I tried this in Chrome, IE, and Edge, so I don’t think it a browser related problem.
I would really appreciate any suggestions. Not sure if I can post the link for the website here, but it’s hopecenterforyouth. It does show up in Google search if you use that exact term. It has the tagline of “Hope Center For Youth Wilderness Camp”. To see what I’m talking about you would, go to that site and click on the “Discussion Board” link at the top of the page and then try to go into one of the Forums. You should get a blank page like I do.
]]>Hi Veppa,
I would like to add some other links in the sidebar login widget.
<div class="bbp-logged-in<?php echo (strlen($css_class_logout) ? ' ' . $css_class_logout : ''); ?>">
<a href="<?php bbp_user_profile_url(bbp_get_current_user_id()); ?>" class="submit user-submit"><?php echo get_avatar(bbp_get_current_user_id(), '40'); ?></a>
<h4><?php bbp_user_profile_link(bbp_get_current_user_id()); ?></h4>
<h4><a href="NEW_URL">NEW LINKTEXT</a></h4>
<?php bbp_logout_link($redirect_to); ?>
</div>
Tried to add a link in this part of your php file, but it had no effect.
Do you have some suggestions for me…?
Thanks
Matthias

]]>Is there a way to adjust spacing between widgets on sidebars created this way?
]]>Hi I have to problems:
1. The login widget for the site sidebar, the fields for username etc. are too wide, how do I decrease the width ?
2. The forum sidebar only appears on the Forums index page, once you enter a forum it reverts to the site sidebar.
Help would be very much appreciated … Thank you in advance
Melanie
I am helping a friend with their web site. This is an older audience and he needs the default font size to be larger. We are using WeaverX-treme theme and have set the font size in all areas to be either Medium or Large but none of those settings impacts the size of the font in the Forums table. Is this possible for us to change? I even tried to insert custom CSS for the class= bbpress-forums and had no luck.

Rolled back to previous version of the plugin with latest version of Divi and forum returned as normal.

We do not use the Divi builder on the Forum page, simply all default bbPress functions.
Thanks!
the line causing the error :
if (!empty($user_query->get_results()))
changing it to
if ($user_query->get_results())
which solved the problems , however the two lines are equivalent but the use of empty() with a function return is not proper.
]]>just for your info really (sorry , but i cannot give you any more details as it’s a live site where i needed to downgrade back to 1.3.1 immediately)
but in a nutshell. i had 1.3.1 running for quite a while, then – just a few minutes ago – saw 1.4, updated to 1.4, checked the site , and forum/topics/everything was gone (as in : not displayed at all, just some text/summary that is usually displayed above the list of forums/topics etc)
going back to 1.3.1 brought it all back
again, sorry that i cannot give you any more info at this stage but i simply cannot take this site/forum down for debugging things at the moment
just thought i’d let you know

]]>Hello,
I see on your example forum that you have the Reply Form for non-logged in members.
https://veppa.com/blog/forums/forum/free-wallpaper-script/installation-problems/
I can’t figure out how this is done. Is it done from your plugin or is there another setting in bbpress for this? I’d love to have non-members be able to fill this out, then prompted to login when they click Submit, then have it get posted.
Thanks.

]]>Hi, everybody-
Been having some trouble enabling the forum sidebar. My theme (MH Magazine) has no bbPress template by default, so I copied my full-page-width template and renamed it plugin-bbpress.php. I’ve got the forums page set to this template, selected it in the WP Tweaks options, but something has gone awry between the template and the forum sidebar (and yes, I’ve loaded it with widgets).
I can dig into the PHP file and mess around if need be… just not sure whether or how…

I recently installed this plug-in, and added the widgets I wanted to appear in my sidebar. Nothing is showing up, and I can’t for the life of me figure out why. There’s no sidebar whatsoever on my forums page, and I don’t know how to make one appear. I’m using Sahifa as my theme.
Thanks!

Hi,
I’ve tried what you told Robin W to do and still no use…I just want the sidebar to appear on my forums page. I’m fairly new to WordPress so any help is appreciated!
Hi, I have installed bbpress and bbPress WP Tweaks, and I think it will do what I want, thanks.
The default setting for bbPress WP Tweaks uses page.php, which puts the blog sidebar on the forum, which is inappropriate for I want a forum specific sidebar. (It also puts it on the left instead of the right.)
So I want to create a forum.php page that puts a new sidebar on the right. I am just able to program in php, so it would be best if I made this as easy as possible. So have you any suggestions about doing this easily please? Would it be best to use the page.php file from the blog theme and modify it? Or is there some easier way?
Thanks
