The plugin page is showing the message “This plugin hasn’t been tested with the latest 3 major releases of WordPress…” – can you please indicate if this plugin is still supported and update accordingly?

Don’t worry! Better Font Awesome will still render using the included fallback version: 5.14.0

Hi, I’m getting a wordfence alert as follows – The Plugin “Better Font Awesome” has a security vulnerability.
Is this for 2.0.4 or is this regarding an earlier update? I received the alert today… the url they supply comes in as a 404 not found, so hard to tell?

]]>I am using Better FA for displaying payments on my site. They are in footer on all pages. I am a bit confused…. Most work fine, however, some do not:
apple-pay
cc-apple-pay
google-pay
Do not display at all.
ideal
alipay
Displays ONLY on my contact page but not on any other pages.
Other issue:
My theme pulls in top bar some built in Socil Media icons that only works when generating generation 4 button in this plugin, so I assume they are gen 4.
I also added widget with some in footer, but they are gen. 5 I think. In other words, they are not identical and that appears messy. Kan I force this plugin to convert gen 4 to gen 5/6? and then disable the plugin from puling gen 4….
]]>Hello. With GDPR any site can’t work with CDN. So do You have any settings to store CSS files of Font Awesome locally? A plugin is good, but with this restriction I can’t use it.
]]>Unfortunately, there is no icon block after installing the plugin.
]]>Thanks for rolling out the recent fixes!
The icon selector is still not working in the editor which I know has been reported a few times in this forum. When you click the “Insert Icon” button above the text block or other element, the icon menu loads, but you cannot enter text inside of the ‘type to filter’ block or click any icon to select it.
I hope you can push out a fix for this as well, as it’s difficult to have to now train my clients how to use custom code for adding icons in HTML view when this used to work beautifully for them as part of the editor experience.
Thanks in advance!

Please update the “tested” value (after testing, of course). The plugin seems to be working well for me on WP 6.0.2 and PHP 8.0, if it helps.
]]>Hi all,
Thanks again for your patience. I’m happy to report that we just released Better Font Awesome v2.0.2, which should resolve the CSRF vulnerability that some of you have been asking about.
]]>Thank you for taking the time to put together an update despite all you have going on. All the best; enjoy your little boy.
]]>Hi all,
To those of you who’ve recently inquired about the security vulnerability that’s been reported, thanks first of all for your patience ????.
We’re working on a fix right now, and should have an updated release out shortly that resolves the issue. Again, thanks so much for bearing with us as we get a fix out to you.

On a side note, Better Font Awesome is indeed not proactively updated/developed these days. Between full-time work and parenting a 2-year-old, my attention is spread pretty thin, and for the most part BFA has been a blessedly problem-free project over the years, requiring very little of my attention. As I’ve shifted focus further and further from the WP ecosystem, it would be helpful to know if the current pace of development (or lack thereof) isn’t meeting the needs of you all, the users for whom this plugin is (hopefully) offering the most value. Your feedback and input is always welcome.
Thanks again for your patience, and hope the plugin is serving you well.
]]>Well, let’s put it simply, no other plugin does what it does. When will you launch a “fixed” (patchstack warned me about it) version of this plugin?
]]>WP Engine says that BFA is not secure. Any plans to update? Thanks.
]]>Hi there!
Plesk WordPress Toolkit is saying this:
WordPress Better Font Awesome plugin <= 2.0.1 – Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) vulnerability
Would be possible a new version that fixes that?
Thank you!

For some reason the icons are not shown. Also for the shortcode generator all icons are empty.

It’s a multisite installation. I have 1 site where it’s working properly, and another site it’s not working. Can’t find any differences. Ran a plugin conflict, without result.
Please advise.

]]>Hello and thank you in advance for your help.
Since this morning, I get on the administration page of WordPress the message below.
It looks like something went wrong when trying to fetch data from the Font Awesome API:
429: Too Many Requests - https://api.fontawesome.com
Do not worry! Better Font Awesome will still render using the included fallback version: 5.14.0. This may be the result of a server or connection issue, which will be resolved shortly. However, if the problem persists, submit a support ticket on the support forum listing the errors listed above.

In the Classic Editor, you can no longer focus on the search field to look for icons.
]]>Hi – thanks for your great plugin.
Everything seems to be working well, however when looking at my page loading I’m seeing assets coming from use.fontawesome.com
https://use.fontawesome.com/releases/v5.15.4/css/all.css?ver=2.0.1
https://use.fontawesome.com/releases/v5.15.4/css/v4-shims.css?ver=2.0.1
I thought Better Font Awesome prevented that…
I’ve disabled other plugin options regarding font awesome and checked the BFA settings option for Attempt to remove Font Awesome CSS and shortcodes added by other plugins and themes.
Q: Is calling these assets to be expected or do I need to keep searching for what might be calling them?
Thanks
]]>Hello
Is there a smooth way to replace all old shortcodes with new ones in database? I mean a script or tool that does it by following some pattern or else. Replacing them one by one with search-replace can take too long in current case, as there is a lot of different icons in use and the full set of icons used is unknown.
I know about the backward compatibility setting, it works with it right now, but I prefer to update all shortcodes inserted with the plugin version 1.7 and earlier.
Thanks

]]>Hi,
I’m trying to use the Amazon icon with this code:
[icon name=”amazon” class=”2x”]
But somehow it doesn’t work. It only shows a swiitching between ? and ! icon, which probably indicates that it’s not working.
What am I doing wrong?
]]>Below is a persistent error message I amd suddenly seeing this at the top of the WP admin pages. Any advice on this?
Better Font Awesome
Remote CSS Error
The attempt to fetch the remote Font Awesome stylesheet failed with the following error: http_request_failed: cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 10000 milliseconds with 0 out of 0 bytes received (URL: //cdn.jsdelivr.net/fontawesome/4.7.0/css/font-awesome.min.css)
The embedded fallback Font Awesome will be used instead (version: 4.6.3).
Don’t worry! Better Font Awesome will still render using the included fallback version: 4.6.3
Solution
This may be the result of a temporary server or connectivity issue which will resolve shortly. However if the problem persists please file a support ticket on the plugin forum, citing the errors listed above.
Do not work with wp editor field by ACF.
When you click on the icon, the shortcode is not inserted into the editor.
Nothing just happens.
I receive the following console errors when viewing the frontend of the site with BFA activated:
downloadable font: rejected by sanitizer (font-family: “FontAwesome” style:normal weight:400 stretch:100 src index:0) source: https://use.fontawesome.com/releases/v5.15.3/webfonts/fa-solid-900.eot

Anyone else? Thanks!
