Thank you for this plugin! I love it! I was wondering if there is a way to change when the daily verse is updated. It appears that the new verse is updated at 9:00PM EST. I wanting to have it at 12:00AM EST. Is there a way to change this? Thank you!

Hi there. Just a question about the WordPress Bible verses plugin. What is the max number of requests per second that you have set on your server? I am thinking of using the plugin for both daily and random verses. I suppose calling the random verses would be more taxing.

I see in the plugin description that NLT is an option for translation, but when I update the shortcode [bibleverseoftheday_nlt] it doesn’t render anything but the shortcode text.

This plugin looks good so far.

1.) I added this code [bibleverseoftheday_niv] to my wordpress website widget section and it worked fine.
But my questions are:

(a). How can I add or create a schedule to show a particular Verse or chapter for a particular day. For example:

I want to schedule:
– John 3:16 to show on the 1-March-2021,
– Matthew 2:9 to show on the 2-March-2021

I would also like to schedule for the whole month and possibly 12months of the year.

The Daily Bible Widget does not seem to be working and I get the following error message “The requested URL /get/verse was not found on this server.”
The Random Bible Widget is fine, so I am presuming that this is not a problem connected to my website?

Simple question. How do I change the font, size, color of the “Verse of the Day” heading?

Under Verse of the Day, you will see the output from this plugin. How and where would I change the font size of the text output of this plugin. I use the basic version of Elementor so I can’t add custom CSS from their menu but I assume I can add it elsewhere. Where would that be and what do I add to change the font size of the plugin?

It would be nice to add quotes around the verse and/or add a dash between the verse text and the verse reference.

How can I fix it so that I can log into my site?

This is a rather small issue since a production site wouldn’t have this turned on.
But when WP debugging is turned on with:
define(‘WP_DEBUG’, true);
define(‘WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY’, true);
define(‘WP_DEBUG_LOG’, true);
in the wp_config.php and the “Show link to DailyVerses.net” is unchecked, I get the following message displayed.

I’m trying to change the color of the main text. I did click on the previous thread from 2 years ago and did what was suggested, but to no avail. The bible verse can be found on the website listed in the footer. Thank you ahead of time. This is what I entered into the bible-verse-of-the-day.css

How can I help you translate your plugin, to accept the portuguese language of the Bible in portuguese brazil. From your guidelines we will define what will be the ok version.

How can I remove the “DailyVerses.net” URL that shows up under the bible verse? I want to try and clean up as much as I can and keep it as minimal as possible and since clicking on the reference takes users to the website anyway, I see no need for the other link.

On some of the pages, the text in the plugin is bold – on others, it’s fine. Why is that? and what can i do to fix it? (Please note that I am a bit technically-challenged….)

I would like to know how to change the sorting of the plugins. Now yo have dailyVerses bibleText then dailyVerses bibleVerse below.

But i would to know how to change it the let the “dailyVerses bibleVerse” be at first an then the dailyVerses bibleText be below it.

Something like this I would like it to be showing:

Title: John 12:2
Text: Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, cibo ponderum in quo, semper melius scriptorem duo ea, cu aperiri evertitur expetendis eam.

Title come first, then text comes under.

On the spanish version the text “bible verse of the day” on top of the verse still comes out in english. Please change to “Versículo bíblico del dia”.

I really love your plugin! But last week I run into a dilemma. I installed a caching plugin to improve the speed of my website. I hoped that the GET request from the bible verse plugin would overrule the caching plugin. But it doesn’t. I set my caching expiration time on 7 days. So now the bible verse of the day becomes a bible verse of the week.

Is there anyway I can solve this with yout plugin?

Hello. I love this plugin, however, on the current theme that I am using, the text overflows onto the background image. Can I change this in the css of the plugin? Or do I need to change this through my theme? I tried adding it in the plugin, however, only the verse link and dailyverse.net link will change. How can I adjust the margins of the verse itself?

Not sure how long this has been, but I’m going to guess since the new WP 3.7.

I am very new to this, so please bear with me if my question is somewhat basic.

I installed [bibleverseoftheday] as a short code onto a test page and it works exactly as I and you expected ??
However, when trying to use the widget in the sidebar I am getting lost/confused.

Having installed the plugin, i can see the two widgets. so far so good.
Now, in Appearance > widgets I drag either to the sidebar. If I run any page then nothing is being displayed.

I assume that I need to add some code to the sidebar_page.php page. However if I add the php code:<?php echo bible_verse_of_the_day(0); ?> to my sidebar_page.php page, then I don’t get any options regarding the Title, links etc.

Can you possibly tell me what I am doing wrong ( I am sure that it something I am doing)
