I just finished importing 3,511 posts and 264 pages on a friend’s site. It took a little while, but all the content was carried over and we’re really happy with the results. I think this really saved me a lot of headaches, thanks!

After testing this plugin for a while I decided to purchase the unlimited version. I need to import a blog with almost 4000 entries. Even using the extended version, most of the times the process is stopped with no error message after 20 entries. Every so often it is able to output some logging and import a few more at a time, but never more than 50 or 60. A week and a half ago I sent a support request but didn’t get any help dealing with this. It is a shame because the imported posts work wonderfully

We had a very large blog to import to WordPress. The native Blogger IMporter could not handle it. I tried several times and finally gave up. A one month access to this plugin made it in one go. It also saved me the time and effort of doing a 301 redirect as it is built in to this plugin. Way to go!

I chose this plugin because as of this writing, the old option, the Blogger Importer Plugin recommended by WordPress, hasn’t been updated in five years and throws a number of PHP-version-related errors.
I used the unlimited (premium) version of the Blogger Importer Extended Plugin to import 208 posts from a client’s Blogger site into an existing WordPress blog. It took 18 minutes for the Importer to bring in all 208 posts, associated comments, and the multiple images in each post. The import went smoothly, with the CPU and memory use of the plugin not exceeding 5 and 0.3 percent, respectively. It’s very well-behaved in terms of server resources.
It imported all the posts into the default post category, “uncategorized” on this particular site, which presented a problem as WordPress still doesn’t have a way to bulk-remove categories, only add them, though there are workarounds. In retrospect, the thing to do is to set the default post category to the category you want the imported posts in just before running the import, then the imported posts will all be in the correct category after importing them. Once the import is done, you can revert the default post category to its previous value.
Another wrinkle was that the Importer set the first image in each Blogger post as the Featured Image for the post in WordPress, which in the theme I was using was not attractive. A simple SQL query can be used to remove the featured images in bulk, which offers a quick fix to this issue.
The other thing of note is that a minor modification of the blogger-redirect-template.xml file will allow you to do the redirects on the Blogger site if your permalinks on the destination WordPress site are in the same format, making it possible to remove the plugin after you’ve done the import and still have the redirects work.
Overall, this is a very well-designed and functioning plugin. It is worlds better than the old method of importing from Blogger/Blogspot, which didn’t even get the post images.
The only things keeping me from giving this five stars is the inability to set the category for imported posts and an option not to set featured images.

This plugin successfully imported all 4,000 articles from my blogger and also copied a copy of the image to my server, which was amazing!

The plugin don’t work at all! Free user can import 20 post but still not working. Don’t wast your time on it

Excellent plugin. Imported over 200 posts from my Blogger to my WP simply and easily. All post text intact, including links and some formatting. Many recent images imported too (older ones weren’t but I don’t know if that’s because of Blogger rather than this importer.
Redirection works like a dream, very easy to set up. Recommended.

For the free plan the installer says you can only import 10 records. Have to pay for more.

This plugin did exactly what I wanted, and saved a lot of time. It took a while – you have to be patient if you’re transferring a long-running blog like I was – but it did it well, picked up if the connection was broken. Very pleased – thanks. Worth the premium version

I cannot recommend this plugin highly enough. Yes, there is a price to pay for decent quality software, but in my experience, it’s the right thing to do to support developers and ensure the continued development of quality software. This tool performed the import of over 6,000 posts from a Blogspot site for a client of mine and worked flawlessly where other software simply couldn’t cope. This is the way to go for Blogspot imports from now on.

My blog isn’t huge by some standards but it’s big enough, and it’s in use every day so it was really important to me that my move to WordPress went smoothly. When I had problems (which turned out to be host-related), Phil provided support that went way beyond my expectations and it’s thanks to him and the plugin that my blog is now safely in it’s new home on WordPress. I wouldn’t have been able to solve this without him. Thanks, Phil!

I was astounded at how well this plugin worked in bringing an image-heavy blog with around 600 posts from Blogger to WordPress. I expected to have to fix gibberish and bizarre formatting, but in reality very little tweaking on only a few posts was required afterwards to fix positionings and things like that. The instructions are complete and easy to follow and are written in good English.

The only thing to do is find Blogger Site ID.
Then just have a coffee and wait for it done.

This is a very nice plugin.
However, on the screen for entering the Blogger ID, I cannot enter the ID because “fade-out” is attached to all the elements, and I cannot execute the import.
I would be grateful if you could fix it.
(I ran it using Chrome’s developer tools by removing the “fade-out” class.)

I was looking to migrate from Blogger to WordPress, but with 1200+ posts I wanted to make sure it was done properly. Up steps Blogger Importer Extended. I tested the process with the free version, and liking what I saw I paid for a week’s use of the full version and got importing.
The process went very smoothly, except for one wrinkle, that it didn’t import my users. On contacting the developer they were able to provide a quick fix and on repeating the process it all went well. Apparently it was something to do with the blogger blog being created so long ago that the user ids were of an unexpected format. I still needed to tweak the users as the automatically created usernames were simply long numbers (though the display names were correct), but the developer suggested a work around for this too: creating new users and deleting the old ones, at which point WP asks if I want to assign the orphaned posts to a new author.
The only other issue was that having carried out the process twice all media were now in my library twice, but I found another handy WP plug-in to help me delete the unused versions. Another approach would have been to take a system backup before the process and restore to that.
Last of all, this Plug-in also supplies a theme which can be uploaded to the old blogger site to automatically direct traffic to your new WordPress site. I’ve just done that and it works a treat. No fiddling with the domain settings required. The posts redirect to the equivalent on the new site. I haven’t migrated pages, so links to those pages will end up on the home page. And I’ve got a backup of the original theme in the unlikely event that we need to revert.
Highly recommended!

I’m a developer and have helped three users migrate their old blogs into wordpress with this plugin. My only issue with the plugin is that there is a bug with the Redirects function of the plugin not working and the developer insists they can not duplicate the issue. As of this posting I am pretty sure the current version has a bug with the redirects feature which I have posted a fix to the support forum about. I will update this review accordingly when I get another project requiring the use of this plugin.

We migrated a Blog with 150 articles, 1 page, hundreds of photos and around 2200 comments. At first, the parent-child relationship of comments (a comment and the replies to it) was missing. But support by Phil (pipdig) was very quick, friendly and helpful! He solved the problem, which was due to a language issue, our WordPress installation being not English but German. What I like most about this plugin (and what I was missing in other Blogspot-migration-Plugins) is the preparation for Gutenberg blocks! In other plugins I tested, we had this junk-code remains from Blogspot in the articles after converting the text to Gutenberg Blocks. “Blogger Importer Extended” eliminates the junk and therefore saves LOTS AND LOTS of time and nerves. Thanks a lot. The money is well spent on this plugin!

I have a huge blog with over 3,800 posts and I was skeptical that it would be imported, let alone be imported well. My skepticism was unfounded. Not only did it move all the posts to my new WordPress Blog but with all the images, all the type definitions, and all the links that I am aware of. I am way beyond pleased. I am thrilled. I will be using this plugin for many of our company’s blog transitions. Thank you for building this outstanding tool. You have my full appreciation.

I’ve worked with PipDig personally for my website and they have always gone out of their way to make sure everything looks and works perfectly — this plugin is no exception. It is by far the best plugin for migrating blog content out there. With their recent updates, it’s OUTSTANDING! Everything you need to migrate to WordPress in ONE plugin. SO GOOD! Thank you so much, PipDig!

Hi,
while the default Blogger importer failed, your plugin actually ran through my blogger data and imported all of the posts. When it got to downloading the media files it got into a queue and downloaded a dozen images many many times. I then stopped the import which broke down and restarted itself again and again and deleted the duplicated media in my library. Even though the import process was somehow faulty the posts now were in my wordpress posts list and I could work with them.
What I would have absolutely needed: The importer should have downloaded the thumbnails of my posts.
Instead of downloading the posts the plugin used external image links in my posts. The preview images did not display ??
Now I am trying to run other tools to automatically set featured images.
Unfortunately I cannot re-run the plugin. I would like to reset all plugin data but the plugin always starts the process of importing at 99%,does not import the posts (which I have deleted in the mean time) but continues to download media into my media libarary and breakting down…
This plugin got further than any other importer. It almosts works!!

I tried importing the XML file but it didn’t work using another importer. I tried this one and it took a while but the quality for my nearly 2,000 posts and over 5K comments worked.
