I have installed the plugin, activated it and started the transfer process.
It works file till the Packaging mu-pluginsā¦ and gets stuck there.
I have waited for more then 30 minutes to complete this process but it goes on and on.
I tried the same on another website and the result is the same.
]]>I have installed the plugin and the migration process appears to have worked properly on the source site. I copy the code, click the button, and I keep getting “login error” when I try to log into the Bluehost site. When Bluehost does let me in, it just takes me to the main dashboard. Is there a way to import the files without going through the dashboard link?
]]>I’ve just purchased a Bluehost account and have installed the Bluehost Site Migrator plug-in on my wordpress website. I openned the plug-in and it reported that my site was compatible. Then it said “It looks like your site didn’t transfer” and gave an option to retry. Then just loops around with no other options. Not impressed! No instructions or error logs or advice, just ‘retry’.
]]>Hi!
Looks like on a brand new WordPress install the plugin fails to generate the root.zip package.
The filters, in includes/functions.php:111 filter out all of the files, which then leads to an empty set of files to be zipped, which means that no root.zip package is created, and then the migrator fails here:

I am getting this message when trying to log into my site. It showing I am in staging environment and my site is ‘Coming Soon Active’ mode. I am at a loss on what to do. When I access my site it is still up and running but I cannot post anything new. Does this have to do with the newest update? If so, when will a fix be put into place. Thank you
]]>I’m trying to move a website from another server to Bluehost with the plugin and it’s proving frustrating as the support people were particularly unhelpful in helping me find out why it had failed. All they had to give me was the list of requirements which are on the website anyway at https://www.bluehost.com/help/article/free-wordpress-migration
www.ads-software.com (cannot be WordPress.com)
Running WordPress version 4.7 or later
Running PHP 7.0 or later
We must have file and database access via FTP, SSH, or a hosting control panel.
Backups are accepted but do not guarantee a successful migration.
Less than 2GB (filesize)
Less than 20MB database size
No proprietary features
Free of malware
Not a multi-site
I’ve checked in Tools > Site Health > Info > Directories and Sizes and the site I’m transferring is less than 1GB and the database is less than 15MB. It’s possible to access the site with FTP and it’s free of malware because I’ve checked it with Anti-Malware Security and Brute-Force Firewall plugin. It’s on a non-proprietary server that has (only) PHP 7.0 and is running WordPress 5.3.1.
However it comes up as incompatible.
I’ve also been sent another compatibility list by email which lists
The site must be a WordPress site
The combined size of the site files must be under 2G
The database for the site must be under 20M
WordPress version 4.7 or higher
PHP version 7.0 or higher
Must not be a multisite
Must have enough available disk space to store the backup
I’d really like to know why it failed but the only information I’m given is
That didn’t work:
Let’s bring in the pros.
This can happen if you have a multisite, alternate directory structures, or certain themes or plugins. The transfer might require some extra steps, or we might need to look at other options.Give us a call at 888-401-4678.
So there is an indication that it could be a theme or a plugin that is causing the issue because the site I’m transferring has no alternative directory structure and isn’t multisite.
I’d really like to know which plugins or themes could be an issue – and is that whether they are activated or not?
