Hi!
No more support/update ?
]]>Hi,
I have a BuddyPress community setup and also using Restrict Content Pro and WooCommerce on the site.
Rather than using the BP registration system we are using Gravity Forms with its user registration addon.
New site members are being auto added to groups and given BP member types and a RCP member level so all that is working.
My WP user profile has the checkbox checked to say add all new members as friends for me – I am a site administrator if that makes any difference.
I do have one other member setup to get all new friendships added and they are just a standard WP BP user and they aren’t getting friends added either.
All site users have custom WP user roles that we created using the user roles editor Pro plugin if that matters.
Using latest versions of WP and plugins.
It would also be great if there was a feature to retrospectively make me into friends with all site users.
What other info do you need to help diagnose the problem?
Thanks,
Dale.
Feature Request:
I want my new users to automatically receive friendship requests from global friends. However, they have to be notified to manually accept the requests.
I have two more questions.
1. can I sort friends by their matching results
2. can I let them see the criteria they matched on?
]]>Is there a way to friend all new users with all existing users instead of limiting the list to pre-existing global friends?
Alternatively: is there a way to turn every existing and new user into a global friend automatically?
In Detail: I am trying to match all users and let them see the results in their profile. I am using Match me for BuddyPress which requires users to be friends in order to show matching results
]]>We are ready to launch our site, and I have just checked the friendship numbers. Somehow there are people with more friends than there are users. Most just one or two but a few users have nearly 100 more than its possible to have.
When I look at the user profile it says 200 friends but underneath it says ‘Viewing 1 – 20 of 125 active members’
Is there a way to flush this out and get the correct amount?
]]>Hello,

The said MENU does not show up.
For your reference, Buddypress 2.8, wordpress 4.62, and activated buddypress in sub site of wordpress MU. Thanks.

]]>Hey,
I just had two new users who signed up on my site and I was not automatically friended to them. Everytime I test it with a fake account it works, so I’m wondering if it because the account are coming from the same IP.
Can you tell me where to start looking that I might be able to get it up and working?

]]>Hi Steven,
Really cool plugin, great work! When testing I did notice a few issues which I’ll list out and explain, but let me know if you need any clarity or help;
1.)
When in debug mode I get the following error in the header of all pages, and was able to isolate the cause to BP A.F.;
Notice: get_user_meta( $user_id, 'last_activity' ) was called incorrectly. User last_activity data is no longer stored in usermeta. Use bp_get_user_last_activity() instead. Please see Debugging in WordPress for more information. (This message was added in version 2.0.0.) in /nas/wp/www/staging/chassett/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3547
2.)
I was also able to reproduce the issue “Juan Quaglia” reported, where deleting a ‘Global Friend’ from the list, resulted in all friends being removed from that member. A pop-up message did state, “Removing this user will delete ALL friendships related to this user. ‘Cancel’ to stop, ‘Ok’ to delete.”. So I’m not sure if this is by design, but an alternative option could be beneficial. The ‘Remove’ process also output two different errors (while still in debug mode);
Notice: update_usermeta is deprecated since version 3.0! Use update_user_meta() instead. in /nas/wp/www/staging/chassett/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3378
Notice: delete_usermeta is deprecated since version 3.0! Use delete_user_meta() instead. in /nas/wp/www/staging/chassett/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3378
;
Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. It’s an awesome plugin and I’m execited to get her live on the site! Thank for creating it!
Regards,
Carl

]]>Hi there,
The plug-in v2.0.4. is not working properly on my installation. I have a multi site with BuddyPress only activated on one website.
I’ve enabled the plug-in on the sub site with BuddyPress. The plug-in is activated successfully, however, I can’t enter the settings of the plug-in: “Insufficient rights to the page”. However, I’m the administrator.
What can be wrong?
]]>When I removed an user from the global friends list, the plugin deleted all my friend, including those who were not automatically generated, so my friend list is now zero. Please fix this issue.
]]>This is a great plugin for what it does since it can automatically add admin as a friend to a new user. But it would be nice to have custom email text for this instead of the default “blank has accepted your friend request” because this is confusing to a new user that doesn’t understand the purpose and didn’t see a friend request. Would be nice to have it say something like “Admin has become your friend. Now you can easily communicate with them if you have questions.”
]]>Hi Steven,
Is there a way to turn off the “… accepted your friendship request” emails for the friendships created automatically by the plugin?
Thanks.
]]>Hi, I don’t have a “BuddyPress” menu so I don’t get the plugin option under it.
Is this because I’m using Multisite? or is something not working for BP1.9 and WP3.8?
Thanks
]]>I am almost done with the next major version of BuddyPress Automatic Friends and I to need a few volunteers to help out with testing basic usage. I am aware of a few items already, but I’d like to get opinions from a few people with fresh eyes.
Please let me know below if you are available to assist with testing an I will be in touch shortly.
Thanks!
Steven
This is pretty lame but at least it works.
Open the “Settings > BuddyPress Automatic Friends” admin panel
Type a “1” in the user id text box, then click save changes.
If you don’t see the name you are looking for … increase by 1 and repeat.
How many can there be? ??

]]>Hi,
First, thanks for the plugin. It works well.
I had to change it a little to exclude some users. The reason why is because I have some users excluded from all BP Activity (i.e. admin users that I don’t want showing up as online, or have their activities listed in the activity stream).
The problem is that with you new logic, these users will never have a last_login because this information is excluded from being written to the DB. The result is that every time they log in, the friend(s) get added.
To fix this, I just added some logic before the statement below to filter out certain users by user_id.
if (!( $bp->loggedin_user->id == “1” || $bp->loggedin_user->id == “2” || $bp->loggedin_user->id == “3” || $bp->loggedin_user->id == “4” )) {
if( ! isset( $last_login ) || empty( $last_login ) )
skw_bpaf_create_friendships( $bp->loggedin_user->id );}
It would be nice if you could include the option to exclude certain user ids from processing in the admin panel. i.e. just provide a comma separated list of ids.
.. Anyway, it’s just a suggestion.
Thanks again for the plugin.
Regards,
Mike.

So it appears broken? Would it be a conflict with another plugin or theme?

Is there an easy way to find the user id:s of all the WordPress users on my site? Would be easier to use your plugin if that was possible for those of us who are less skilled in programming.
