I have uploaded servel documents in a group, but i can not get the sort to work. first time i enter the site all documents are shown. if i wanna sort by a Category, the i can not go back to “all”. How can it get this working?

]]>Is there any way to filter the email notifications for uploaded files? Ideally this could be set by an individual user for a particular group. So if I want to be notified of only GAM files being uploaded and not PLR files in the Balance Mod Game group, I could do that.

Plugin installed, Activated, “Documents” Tab availible like supposed to be…
Problem:
Upload throwes Error “This file type is not supported”
Trying to enter the settings page via Plugin Details trys to open the page via:

throws this: The requested URL was not found on this server.
Also “Buddypress Group Documents” doesnt show up under Tools sektion of WP menu….
Any ideas? What is the problem? Kown issue on multisite?

But I’m having problems with the translations into Spanish. Some of the strings are shown in English, even though the translation is in the corresponding file.
For example, in the Documents tab I can see some of the strings in Spanish, but most of them are in English:
Viewing item 1 to 3 (of 3 items) >> in English
Uploaded by miembro1 on 12 de enero de 2023. >> in English
0 descargas desde entonces. >> this is translated into Spanish.
On the email notifications happen the same:
miembro1 uploaded a new file: Test 3 to the group: Grupo 1.
To see miembro1’s profile: …. >> English
To see the group Grupo 1’s homepage: …. >> English
To download the new document directly: …. >> English
Para desactivar estas notificaciones por favor ve a: …. >> This is translated into Spanish.
Any idea why this is happening?

]]>The plugin works perfectly, it allows you to add documents without any problems. However, when I create a category for the documents, it does not allow me to edit or delete it.
I access the administration part of the group, documents and I see the list of categories created with 2 buttons: “edit” and “delete”.
When I click on the buttons, nothing happens. The page reloads but nothing else.
The debug log shows no errors.
Any clues as to what could be going on? can the document categories be deleted from somewhere else?

We have been using it in our project for a long time and are very grateful to you for your work.
However, the latest update to version 1.14 “disabled” it on our site.
After returning to version 1.13, its performance was completely restored.
When updating to 1.14, access was lost to:
– settings in the admin panel “BuddyPress Group Documents”
– missing menu item in groups “Documents”
– and, as a result, access to uploaded files in groups is lost
Problems were found in “hidden” groups on the main site in multisite mode.
Environment settings:
– WordPress 6.1.1
– PHP 7.4.25
– Apache/2.4.51 (Unix)
– MySQL 5.7.21

]]>As per this pinned support thread, switching the functionality from “send new upload notification Emails by default unless the Group Member has specifically said that they don’t want them in their own Notifications Settings” to “don’t send such notifications by default unless the Group Member has specifically said that they do want them” is a matter of a simple change to one line of code near line #107 of the inc/notifications.php file.
Problem is, we had no way of knowing that until the issue cropped up by us testing out this plugin. We were developing a BuddyPress site for an organization to replace their old hand-coded PHP 5.6 site that won’t work properly under PHP 7+ and bring them into at least the 2010s, and this was being done behind the scenes in a subdomain leaving the main domain pointing to the old site for now. We were going to reveal the new site to the users in a special meeting. But your plugin spilled the beans by sending out those Emails, which is bad. Very, very, bad.
The default all along should’ve been to not send out notifications. Opt-in, not opt-out. Always.
That said, I can see situations where having the default be as it currently is might be useful. So, this should be a setting in the Admin:
Notification Settings
For Members who have not specified a notofication preference for new uploads, default to:
◎ Send new upload notification Email.
◉ Don’t send new upload notification Email.
The default should be as shown for new installations of the plugin. When upgrading an existing installation after implementing this feature, you may want to reverse the default for backwards compatibility, or, better yet, have the install script check line 107 of the already installed version of notifications.php file to see if the site admin has already used the workaround, and if so, keep the above default instead of using the backwards-compatible previous default.

I’d like to use group documents only in one oder more (defined) specific groups, because by default I have a “wiki”-like document management, i.e. open for everybody. An alternative would be activating groups documents only in private groups.
I know the feature is not implemented, but is there a chance to achieve it somehow with a hook? Thanks!

Hi, we use this plugin on a closed-community site, and within the groups the documents that were used/discussed during meetings of that group will be uploaded.
Sometimes there are a bunch of documents. It would be great if these can be uploaded in one go. But I don’t see an option to upload multiple documents.
It is sometimes quite annoying for both the groupmembers and the uploader, to have to do the same action a couple of times and to receive several updates about every new document.
Is this not possible? and if not, would it be easy to make it possible?
