How can I change default value from —– (no member type) to ‘Student’? I want users to have member type field prefilled with Student with ability for Teachers to select ‘Teacher’ at the registration.

Hi, great plugin!. I’m trying to use it but I made a mistake creating custom member types. I’ve deleted all the member types created and I deactivated and deleted your plugin hoping to clean all. So installed again your plugin and creating the same name member type the scenario is:

The counter for that member is already a number of that type user created before deleting your plugin and no members matched in it.

Matching members with the new installation of your plugin, the counter are a sum of the old + new members showing just the latest member created of course..

How could I clean members type to reuse them?

First of all thanks in advance for the support and the great plugin, my problem is that the directories on the members page do not appear.
only “all members” appear.
I assigned the directory to all the types of members I created
the pages are displayed well if I use the url but I would like them to be seen in a single page next to “all members”.
I seem to have understood that it is possible and that the plugin should already do it

I’m using your plugin to manage my member type on my buddypress theme with the Kleo Theme.

My website is multilingual and I’m using WPML to do this.

I can’t success to translate the member type on register page and on member directory page.

My member type still display in my original language (french).

Can you tell me what the way to translate member type ?

I want to check the user you are looking at and hide tabs based on their type. I have 3 options (captain, inspirationbrigade, and no type)

Could it be relevant that you implement your member types as user taxonomies ? For a semantic reason but also because they could be hierarchical.

On my project I’m using BuddyPress Member Types. The problem is I would like to display specific content to each member types. Somethin like; website checks Member Type based on logged in user id and then it shows a piece of content based on the member type.

Has anyone tried this? If so can you pint me in the right direction?

In principle this isn’t a feature one would expect to be open to all.

Hi, I have created “Students”, “Teachers”, “Coordinators”, “Directors”… like shown below:

But only Students and “Group Leaders” (BuddyPress Role) filters appeared in the members directory, I don’t see the member types I created, image below:

Although there are users who have the new member types assigned to them, but they are not showing up.

I’m using LearnDash LMS and Thrive theme. Do you have any information why is this happening?

I tested your plugin on a test site, your plugin does not work, on the profiles of the members, we do not see the new type of member. I use the social marketplace theme (buddyboss)

Hi,

I have 2 member types and translated them with WPML. Now I see all 4 choices regardless of the language that’s being displayed. That’s the case both on the registration page and on the user profile when he’s editing his extended profile field.

Any idea how to solve this?

Thanks for some great plugin u are best in BuddyPress. i use the “BP Member Type Generator” to create the members type and “BuddyPress Xprofile Member Type Field” to show them on the front-end with use of “BuddyPress Non Editable Profile Fields” so they can not edit them after. Now i want to show the diffrent fields and profile layout on diffrent user type for example if the user is chef it should have its own profile layout and diffrent fields.let me know sir if this is possible

Hi there, congratulations for your plugin!

I only have a little problem and don’t know how to solve it.

In the dashboard of the plugin, the directory url is something like:

https://www.mydomain.com/users/tipo/fake-user-type/
(note the word type is in spanish (tipo), I dont know why.

and the url linked in the buddypress user list is in english

and I’m having problems with this…

How would I let the user pick which member type they are?

I’m creating a networking group and I’m trying to create a searchable directory for the users and the companies they represent. Is this something that this plugin can do? If not, can you point me in the right direction with one that can do this?

Thanks for this plugin. Its very useful for me but i need a bit of help.

I have created 3 member types.

Although i can assign a member to these types I would like a column in my user list on we dashboard so I can easily see and filter by member type.

Hi Brajesh,

Does the plugin allow you to assign capabilities to member types – for example, only certain members have access to IM or article posting? Without that, I’m not sure what’s the use of custom member types (that’s a comment on the concept of unique member types, not on your plugin).

Hi, I have a MU install, I have tried to network activate your plugin and nothing on the main site menu, I have tried to activate your plugin on the main site only and nothing on the menu. I don’t know why… Could you please tell me the URLs to access your plugin and its options in the admin section? Moreover, should it be network activated or activated in the main site?
