Hi,
I don’t know if it’s b/c of the latest update & it seems to only be happening on one of my sites (I haven’t checked them all), but my website coder says your plugin is causing certain buttons to come out wonky.
The search field & button & the update/publish button

Hi,
Just downloaded your plug-in but I am unable to use it as a PHP error returns when I attempt to view the plugin [Browser Blocker] settings page in the wordpress admin area.
The Error
Warning: call_user_func_array() expects parameter 1 to be a valid callback, function ‘BrowserBlocker_Options_Page’ not found or invalid function name in <my directory>\Wordpress\wp-includes\plugin.php on line 406
It would be great to get some feedback for this maybe the plugin isn’t compatible with WordPress version 3.6.. who knows?
I won’t give a rating for the plug-in [just yet] as I haven’t even taken it for a spin so it would be unfair to do so.
Thanks for your time,
Regards,
Elliott
This plugin is blocking all the browsers even after I tried everything mentioned FAQ section. I even deleted this plugin and it is still blocking….I guess it has change files of my theme or sth. Please, help me out with this.
This is my website, if it works well, you should see a few lines of Korean like this
(YESiSURF.com? ?? ??? ?? ????.(2013? 7? ?? ??).
yesisurf.com
The very strange thing is it does not block the computers which have accessed this website before.

Great plugin, glad someone put this out here! Developers of many ecommerce sites don’t realize is that old browsers throw security warnings on some modern SSL certs and pose phishing risks. Glad I can check one more security hole off the list, thanks.
I did want to ask one thing. Since you already have the splash screen function installed I would love a way to display the same screen if someone has Javascript disabled and block those users the same as ones with legacy browsers. It is a similar idea to what you have done here, and I don’t think there is a plugin out there for it.

Hi there,
I had a great experience using the plugin just a week ago. I used netrenderer to check the results. Perfect.
So I installed it on this site and I can’t see it showing up on netrenderer. I’ve double-checked all my settings and it’s definitely enabled.
Any thoughts on what I might be doing wrong?
Thanks for the great plugin!

Hi there!
Too bad, it does not block this browser:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.1.5) Gecko/20091107 Firefox/3.5.5
when I wish to block all Firefoxes version 12 and below.
I got hit by a Linux/Mozilla Firefox 3.0.15 about 2000 times in one day… any chance to block that?
Thanks!

The purpose of this plugin is to deal with such browsers as IE6. Sadly the download links do not work with IE6.
The download links need to be moved inside the enclosed div.
The following changes are necessary in splash.php to make it work:
starting line 92:
original code:

/**** code collapsed ****/

patched code:

/**** code collapsed ****/

Repeat the above patch for the other browsers in splash.php (from lines 106, 120, 134 and 148). Note that Safari seems not to be supported on Windows any more, so it might as well be removed in Admin Options.
Wanted to let you know I received the following error message upon activating your plugin:
The plugin generated 236 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin.
It appears to be working OK but not sure if that message is anything to worry about.

Ironically, this code doesn’t work very well in IE ?? – When I view the blocked message in IE the cursor does not change as you hover over the selections.
I think you need to use
instead

if you want to keep things compliant while using anchor tags outside of a box.

Great plugin!
It would be great to have a preview window of what visitors will see when they visit with IE7, IE8, etc.
I have tried using IE9 in IE7 browser mode but cannot see the window.
Any thoughts on best practices for testing an implementation of Browser Blocker? Thank you!

Hey there, I’m really loving your plugin, but there’s a feature i’d like you to consider adding. If you can include OS detection, I can use it to put up a warning about browsers/OS’s that don’t support SNI. With IPv4 addresses running out, more people are going to be using SNI to host SSL certs on sites w/out a dedicated IP address. It works on all modern browsers, including IE7+, but ~NO IE~ on Windows XP. So, we need Browser & OS detection!
Details: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Server_Name_Indication
If you could add OS detection (or better yet, a checkbox to block non-SNI capable browser/os combos), I would really appreciate it!
