It works great!
But why are all the attached files in the media folder broken?
I see that someone has uploaded files but they seem broken…
Cant view downloaded attachment

Is this plugin working? Being updated? Abandoned?

Hi there,
I have a question: how to allow adding more than one attachment?
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/buddypress-message-attachment/
Hi Ckchaudhary,
I wanted to pass along this Notice I received when in Debug Mode:
Notice: bp_setup_current_user was called incorrectly. The current user is being initialized without using $wp->init(). Please see Debugging in WordPress for more information. (This message was added in version 1.7.) in /nas/wp/www/staging/website/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3560
Deactivating “BuddyPress Message Attachment” removed the Notice, but no plugin functionality seemed to be effected. Let me know if you need any more information or help.
Also, still loving the plugin!
One idea I wanted to run past you: Is there a way to hook into the email that is sent by the BuddyPress message functionality and adding something like “1 Attachment”? Often users will read the message an not login until much later. An Attachment Notice in the email message could be helpful to inform users there is more than text within the message.
Thanks for everything!

IS there any on the roadmap for multiple attachment in one PM?
Also, is there any plan to add option to open the file (if an image) in a modal box?
Thanks!

Hi Ckchaudhary,
Great job on this plugin!
I have a few different ways that users can message each other (Two different pop-up windows that use the BuddyPress message system). Is there anyway to add the file uploader and plugin functionality to these windows?
I tried just pasting:

<?php _e( 'Add an attachment','bp-msgat' );?>

<?php _e( 'Allowed file types : ', 'bp-msgat' ); echo implode( ', ', bp_message_attachment()->option('file-types') ); ?>

<?php _e( 'Choose file', 'bp-msgat' );?>

into the pop-up windows PHP file, but I’m sure I need to let the plugin know where to enable the functions, scripts etc.
Thanks for your hard work on this! You did an excellent job!
All the best,
Carl

Hi! It’s my first time using the plugin. I can send attachments well, the issue I am having is that when I click on an attachment that I have received, I can download it but when I try to open it I get a message on my computer that says :
The file “Childrenswear.jpg” could not be opened. It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn’t recognize.
What can I do to fix this? Also, is there a way to just preview the file on screen without having to download it every time? Thank you in advance! Paola

I found this article that I think is the fix. https://make.www.ads-software.com/core/2012/12/12/php-warning-missing-argument-2-for-wpdb-prepare/
However, I do not know php so I am not exactly sure what to edit to correct it.
Here is what line 113 currently has.
function msgat_delete_message($date_sent){
global $wpdb; global $bp;
$wpdb->query( $wpdb->prepare( “DELETE FROM {$bp->messages->table_name_messages} WHERE date_sent = ‘”.$date_sent.”‘”) );
}
Can anyone help with what the correct query code should be?

Thank you very much!
