the plugin worked when I first installed it, now it’s not working.
]]>Hi
Firstly, great plugin! Thanks so much for your efforts!!
I have a site where only certain user roles can access the Buddypress pages. My ‘subscribers’ cannot.
Is there a way that I can stop the plugin from executing if the user has the ‘subscriber’ role?
Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks
Steven
After installing the plugin I get a “This page isn’t working” error. For example, for user named Ralphie it redirects to a mysite.com/members/ralphieprofile/edit/ and I get the error. If I manually insert a slash into the url between ralphie and profile so it is mysite.com/members/ralphie/profile/edit/ then it works. Any ideas?
]]>Hi, as per my (5 star) review, thanks for this GREAT, and very useful plugin.
A problem I’ve received feedback about though…..
For our set up we are using the ‘required fields’ option, and then the ‘profile image’ option – so the user fills in the required fields, saves and then receives the second screen message about the profile image after saving the required field info successfully.
The problem is, upon hitting save for the ‘required fields’ part of completion, the plugin does not always refresh the page with the updated information that has been added to the profile, and so users are left wondering, or to hit refresh to find out if changes have been saved as entered (which they invariably have). This can be confusing for users who aren’t tech-savvy enough to know immediately to refresh / f5.
The same thing happens after image upload, the error message does not disappear, it requires a page refresh in order to show the image and remove the error, after which the user can navigate the site.
Can you think of a reason this might be happening?
Or if not, of something I could do to remove the issue, even if it’s force a hard refresh upon hitting the save button or something?
Users have also fed back that it seems a little disorientating that nothing happens once all of the required info has been saved, for example a final screen message (perhaps something suitable to remain on the edit profile screen full time unless any required info is deleted?), saying ‘Congratulations, your profile info is complete with the basic required info, we hope you enjoy using the site….’
Grateful to hear back soon
Kind regards
My question is fairly self-explanatory, but essentially, I run a BuddyBoss website using this plugin to force new members to upload a profile photo and complete their profile. The problem is that I have certain groups/forums that I automatically subscribe new members into and sometimes what happens is that a new member will register an account, not complete their profile with restricted access turned on, and then will begin to receive notifications from the website’s different groups, etc. They will login to turn off their email notifications and when they attempt to do so they are restricted from going to page page because they haven’t completed their profile. This has resulted in getting spam complaints at worst and generally annoying certain would-be members that simply do not bother to complete their profile per the instructions provided via this plugin. Is there any way to circumvent the restricted access setting on a per page basis? Please advise. Thank you!
]]>Hello i am working on community website using buddypress and youzify and this plugin is working fine but i want to redirect user on other page after successfully completion of profile. Is it possible with this plugin or any other options available?
]]>Hello,
the plugin appears great! However the notice to complete all profile fields doesn’t disappear once all fields are filled in.
It seems to have worked with buddypress. More or less good ??
I now use youzify and since then users don’t have pics.
I don’t know what they see but they seem to use my page further so they can let without uploading a picture ??
]]>Many of my users have Gravatars, please accept them and don’t bother to upload pictures again ??
Also the altert stays after uploading (I don’t require covers).
Also very annoying, that many users that already have user picture and photo have to do it again ??
]]>Hi there,
Just want to ask if you know if your plugin is compatible with the BuddyBoss fork?
Thank you!
]]>A couple of weeks ago was forcing users to complete profile son they cannot navigate to other pages but recently is doing nothing. No message and allowing normal navigation.
]]>please update
]]>To restrict users on the profile page before they complete their profiles is a little too unfriendly. I want to make the users free to explore the site, only when they try to access certain pages should they be required to complete their profile. In my case, which is an online course site, the users should be able to explore the courses, only when they are trying to place an order should they get a message saying “complete your profile please” and be redirected to the profile editing page. Is this possible?
While writing this, I think of another approach. Maybe I can create a role for those who haven’t completed their profiles, and restrict this role from placing a woocommerce order. Inside your plugin, I think there must be an action once a user completes their profile, right?
]]>Hi,
I have the restrict to profile option on, I can’t go further in the site untill I fill in all my required fields (that’s what I want).
But the message that says I should do this won’t show for some reason, there’s nothing in the console and no PHP error either.
WordPress: 5.8.1, PHP: 7.4, BuddyPress: 9.1.1, BuddyPress Profile Completion: 1.0.8
]]>is there any way to only see users who completed all the required fields ?
or hide incomplete profiles from wp user tab?
you have some code listed on your depreated plugin this came from to skip pages. Do you have an update to this code that works with this plugin as well? Also the depreceated plugin was updated most recently than this one so wich one should we be using?
/**
* Do not redirect users on non bp pages.
*
* @param bool $skip should we skip or redirect.
*
* @return bool
*/
function buddydev_skip_redirect_on_non_bp_pages( $skip ) {
if ( ! is_buddypress() ) {
$skip = true;
}
return $skip;
}
add_filter( 'bp_force_profile_photo_skip', 'buddydev_skip_redirect_on_non_bp_pages' );

I am creating a website where people will complete their profile,
admin will check the info and approve or deny,
visitor will be able to search and see user profile.
so I am looking for similar feature. after user sing up, they will not be available as a member . they will only become member after admin approval.
is this possible ?
We are trying to sync fields from the BuddyPress Profile Completion to existing contacts in Active Campaign however there doesn’t seem anyway as the form sits within it’s own table.
We are looking to use Zapier or another plugin to connect this data.
]]>Hi Brajesh,
I’ve been using your plugin for a while and it worked great however I had a suspicion recently that people are being able to use the site without uploading photo as I see those members log in and log out but no photo is being added.
I tested it today with one of my non-admin accounts and yes, it doesn’t seem to work. I have disabled most plugins, except Buddypress, PMPro and theme components.
Can you please test it out on your end and make sure it all works with latest WordPress and Buddypress? Thank you.
]]>Hi,
I have been using this plugin and it’s great to ensure profile pics are added before users can access the site.
However, whilst I allow people to access the site as long as they have completed the base fields & photo, I want to provide them with a reminder to complete the extended profile fields – because they are being left blank.
So would it be possible to display a highlighted message that appears when they are logged in without locking them out from exploring the site and interacting?
Thanks,
Baz
]]>Hello!
I’m having the following issue. I was using the plugin ‘BuddyPress Profile Completion’ to force all new users to upload their profile photo and required fields, only those two options and it was working great. This plugin also locked the new user out of the member directory page until the photo was uploaded. Then I saw the plugin ‘BuddyPress Login Redirect to Profile’ and I thought it would be a great addition to my website, it’s also developed by the same author of this plugin.
I installed it and it worked great, but then I realized that when a new user signed up and logged in, he wasn’t forced to upload the profile photo anymore and he could freely wander through the member directory without having uploaded the photo.
So i went back and deleted the plugin ‘BuddyPress Login Redirect to Profile’, the redirection stopped but the issue is still there. It’s like if that plugin somehow had broken the functionality of the other one.
I want to have both working in the website, if possible. But I’d also be happy if someone could PLEASE tell me how to revert the changes that plugin made to my website in order for the plguin ‘BuddyPress Profile Completion’ to work again!!
Thank you so much!
]]>Hello.
The one and only requirement I checked off was that users had to change profile avatar to continue using site.
But there seem to be some kind of cach that exists after they load up new avatar and the message still displays for several clicks after they met the requirement.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
]]>Hello.
Great plugin, except it’s forcing existing members, with Indenticons (Generated), to change their profile image.
Is there a way to by pass this?
]]>I have a wordpress gravatar — so when I created a buddypress account it loaded my gravatar as a profile pic. Yet the profile completion plugin does not accept this as a valid profile photo, forcing me to replace the gravatar with an uploaded picture — is this something I can fix?
]]>Hi,
Does your plugin support this:
1. When the user registers with us, the user is not required to fill out all fields;
2. However, once the user registers, the system will remind the user to fill out certain fields.
3. Until the user fills out these fields, the system will keep sending reminders.
Is this possible?

]]>In my sidebar I use the Buddypress widget where you can see the newest or active members. When my profile is not completed I’m still able to visit there profile and see there information. Something I don’t want.
The send a message option is not available, when you click on it you return to the account page to fill in the profile but I’m also using the Buddypress send compliment plugin which is still available to use, even if the profile is not filled in yet.
Is there anyway to prevent going to other users profile without an completed profile?
Regards.
]]>Hello,
I am using Paid Membership Pro along with Buddypress. I’m also using your plugin because I love it, so thank you very much ??
I’m running into an issue where the member signs up and is brought to their profile page first before Paid Membership Pro is able to set their member level.
When I deactivate your plugin it is able to set the member level.But then they don’t have to set their profile image.
Is there a way to delay the requirement to upload a photo until after the membership is set?
Thanks,
Neil
]]>Hi,
Despite all required fields being completed, the user is stuck on his profile.
I am using the buddyboss plateform, do you think there is a compatibility issue ?
Kind regards,
Clea
Hi,
Even if the user uploads its profile pic, he’s being blocked on the change-avatar page, with the warning message inviting him to upload a profile picture.
The only way is to log out and retry.
I think it’s due to cache.
How to fix this issue?
Thanks.
Hey guys,
Love your work and have been happily using your plugin whilst setting up my new community. Now that it is live and I am taking new subscribers, I have been getting people complaining about an error in the registration process.
When a new user subscribes to my site, they choose to pay via PayPal or Stripe. However, when I have set ‘must have profile photo’ in your plugin, the PayPal process is skipped completely and the new subscriber is immediately redirected to their BuddyPress profile page and forced to upload an avatar. There is no record of any payment but they have successfully set up an account.
When I disable this option, the PayPal process works as expected.
I have tested this on three different browsers and two different themes. It seems your plugin is intervening too early and not allowing the PayPal payment to happen. I am using MemberPress to manage my registration and payment options.
Any thoughts?
