The 1.15 update seems to break on sites where the filesystem isn’t writable, namely Pantheon “Test” and “Live” environments (and “Dev” when the connection method is set to “Git”).
It definitely seems related to the writability of the filesystem, because in a local environment that is normally writable, when I change the permissions so that the filesystem is _not_ writeable by the web server process, I get this stack trace:

I am trying to add a button on the sidebar with this widget. But it does not show. I tried to add other widgets just to check and they appear instantly on the sidebar, while the buttons don′t.

So – this is not a massive problem currently, but it will be once Gutenberg goes mainstream.

I’m needing a way, to actually insert a button into the “Visual/text editor” of WP itself. A button that, when pressed, would autogenerate template code, which the author(s) could then edit the correct fields of.
At first glance, it seemed like your plugin would be perfect for that, but I may have misread it. I know normally it’d take a plugin to do what I’m wanting, but I’m 1.) Not a programmer and 2.) the small amount of Template code I’m wanting inserted, probably isn’t worth all the trouble of writing it it’s own plugin.
So is your plugin capable of this, and if not, would you happen to know anyway to do what I’m needing to do? Thank you ahead of time!

]]>So I installed the Buttons Shortcode and Widget. I opened up the visual editor and there was indeed a little button just like you show on your instructions. However, the dropdown from this button is not dropping down. I click on the editor button and there is no dropdown at all, no option to click “button”, no other option. It just looks at me and laughs while my cursor sits in the edit page box.
So, is there a secret handshake I can use to find out how to make a single, link button for my web page? Can I be sworn in to the secret society?
How do I not only put a button on my page, but also edit the size, color, text, etc. that the information page describes as being an easy interface in the WYSIWYG editor?
You have no idea how many hours I have been searching and searching forum after forum for one little button. (Most of the forums that address this are closed and years old. I copy the codes and put them in the text editor and I get code on my page where I want my button to be)
I am not a coder.

]]>I’m using the Moesia theme on two sites with the exact same set of plugins except for the addition of the Column Shortcodes plugin to the second site. When that plugin is enabled, all of my TinyMCE buttons disappear from my WYSIWYG editor.
It is my belief that the Buttons Shortcodes/Widget plugin and the Column Shortcodes plugin conflict with each other, but I’m not sure which one is responsible for the compatibility issue.
Has anybody seen this happen on one of their sites?
(Please note: I’m currently using WordPress 4.3 Beta 3 nightly build on both of my sites)
