can’t delete my review? WordPress, what gives?

Doesn’t seem to work on single image posts like the original Jetpack plugin does.

Yeah, I don’t have time to scavenger hunt another mysterious wordpress plugin with no clear indication of how it is to be used.
99% of WordPress gallery plugins are built to fail.

If you are looking for a feature rich, fully customizable gallery plugin, you should look for something else. This plugin is simplicity itself, perfect for adding quickly and effectively a better way to display your galleries without having to invest any time in mastering it. Needless to say it is fast and reliable too!

Simple, but does everything that I want.
Free.
Thank you!

Thanks for forking this into it’s own plugin. I wanted the gallery functionality anad see no reason for the plugin bloat brought about by the full Jetpack install. This works great in conjunction with Tiled Galleries Without Jetpack! Awesome stuff!

Thank you very much for this plugin. I like it.
I wonder if a light transparent background would work as well.

Every time I need a lightbox type gallery, but do not see the reason to install full Jetpack, I use this one!
Thank you!

This use to work good until I updated to the last two versions. Maybe plugin conflict?

Nicely done. @bkjproductions thanks for pointing me to the settings section, you’re right, it makes sense but you saved me time by finding it quickly.

I really liked this plugin at first and I think for everyone else on the WordPress planet, it will probably work just fine.
As of WP 3.9 and this plugin 0.7.2, I found:
If you have made any modifications of your own to the comment form (eg: removed the “website” field and such), this plugin will not respect that. It displays the default comments form.
For sites that allow comments without logging in, it displays the word “False” in front of everyone’s name, even if they did log in. I don’t know what’s up with that
It does not work in Opera. Not a huge deal if you’re not catering to the Unix world, but should be noted.
However, it behaved itself under Multisite, which snowboard mommy always enjoys, so I cannot give it a bad rating.
Hope that helps!

I didn’t have to do anything except activate this, and bingo, it works!
Settings for this are in “Settings: Media” in case you can’t find them easily (makes sense if you think about it).

the page ‘https://jimkanicki.com/wp-login.php’ is blank.

Exactly as the user aaronfuzion has described, I had similar results. Just a black/dark overlay with no images and no ability to go back without using the browsers back button. I tested this on a new WP installation using a custom child theme that was very very clean. I probably won’t be bothering with this plugin ever again, luckily I only spent about 5 minutes on it and moved on.

I am developing a custom version of someone else’s theme. This plugin brings up the black overlay but doesn’t display any pictures. Also, it won’t close and return to the main page.

At first this plugins seemed hot cakes.
Than to find out there is actually NO image loading strategy.
The plugin loads all the images at once, no progressively downloading images while you browse the carousel.
So if you have more than 5 or so images… BEWARE!

This is the best lightbox plugin for galleries, because it uses black background and is able to scale the photos to match with browser window size. The only negative is, that it shows both the caption and the title of the image, that can be bit confusing. I would prefer to see only the caption.

Great idea and exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately, the plugin does not work with my theme (Gabfire WP Newspaper). Could be a conflict with the themes built-in photo gallery. Don’t know. ??

Installed and used Media/Settings to try every option but the plugin doesn’t make a scrap of difference to the standard WP gallery display.
Disappointing.

Simple and effective, makes a huge improvement to the native WP gallery.

I had activated JetPack just for the photo viewer but this fork gets the job done with less overhead. Thanks for sharing!

If you need a simple solution to display your WordPress Gallery images in a light box, this is your plugin.
I especially like how it displays the Title and Description in the Carousel. Oh! And the Responsiveness and “swipe” capabilities on the iPhone is nice too.
Thanks very much!

Thank you. I’ve been looking for this during three hours, and finally found it here. Great plugin, simple, no need of making life complicated. Uses the existing features, takes the best of jetpack and disregards the annoyance. ??

Great to have this full screen gallery plugin without the baggage of Jetpack.
]]>Rating: 3 stars
Is this plugin even supported anymore?
Part of the problem with Jetpack and so many other plugins is that the code is not minified for faster loading. It is easy to do and I see no reason not to have a full version of the script and .min.js and .min.css versions that the php uses by default, so that people do not have to go in and minify everything with each update. I will bump up the rating to 5 stars if the mini versions of the JS and CSS files are ever included and enqueued by default. Aside from that it seems fine.

After NGgallery blew up their plugin I was looking for a way to add decent viewing function for native WordPress galleries. I tried several jquery options but none them delivered exactly what I needed without a lot of plugin / css hacking.
Your plugin adds great functionality without the huge overload of Jetpack. Love it! Thank you!
