I received from my hosting that we use many resources with your plugin by generating each time tumbs for list of articles.
The message is:
Once it generates thumbnail, generated image should be put directly to the source image, not to go every time to the timthumb.php. For example in this page https://www.bucatareselevesele.ro/retete-culinare/retete-bauturi.html It is called the PHP engine 33 times when they could completely avoid these calls.
There should be direct links to pictures and not pass it through a php file: /wp-content/plugins/category-grid-view-gallery/includes/timthumb.php

I’ve tried using IDs instead of slugs, setting the #shown to 10000, using pagination, everything I can think of in the short code.
It appears </div> is being inserted in the middle of one of the entries, which closes the wrapper and leaves the rest of the thumbs just hanging out.
Any thoughts on what this might be?

]]>I created a gallery from a category and it worked fine, but when I tried to create another gallery using a different category the result was exactly the same gallery.
The shortcodes generated:
[cgview id=piezas size=150x150 quality=75 showtitle=always lightbox=0]
[cgview id=curiosidades lightbox=0]
The first one is the ‘good’ gallery, exactly what i want. The second one is a perfect clone of the first one (the second one doesn’t show the title of the post, of course), It doesn’t seem logic to me. Anyone can help me?

]]>I copy the desired category slug and paste it into the “category name” field in the short code generator. I click “generate short code” and then copy and paste the new short code into a new post. The resulting post pulls a bunch random pictures from random post, no of which are the specified category.

]]>Ive been using this plugin for a while now on my blogs. and today i added this plugin to my second blog, but im not seing any thumbnails at all. so i checked the category-grid-view-gallery/cache/ dir and cannot see any files there. The cache folder already have the “777” permission so the server should be able to write to the folder.
i have also added the following code to the themes template, the same im using on my other blogs:

I’m creating a website for a client and he wants to have a references page. I’m using the Category Grid View Gallery plugin to display all the pages with references as a gallery. When you click on a reference image, the page is displayed in a light box. However, the slideshow on that page doesn’t load. It keeps showing the loading sign (grey spinning circle) but nothing appears.
How can this be fixed?

This plugin works exactly as I need it to. I generally have several short codes per page with up to 60 images per short code and it works perfectly.
Unfortunately some visitors are reporting the images on pages using this plugin stop loading about a third to halfway down the page. Other visitors have no issues at all viewing all of the images generated. (example pages: Customized Sets and Voice Modulation).
On other pages with multiple images not using the plugin (Planetary Commendations), the same people have no trouble at all viewing all the images.
Is it possible to incorporate some type of lazy loading so visitors that are having trouble loading all the images won’t download them until they scroll to them? I’ve tried using several lazy loading plugins (Image Lazy Load (Unveil.js), Lazy Load, and BJ Lazy Load), but they don’t work with this plugin.

I found out that when a user don’t insert a shortcode for your plugin, the generated javascript cause an error. “paginateVal is not defined” That’s because when this script runs (CatViewGrid.php) like this:

]]>I found that in WordPress multisite, users who are not superadmins did not have access to the settings page, even though they were admins of their own sites.
This was because the plugin checked for the capability edit_plugins to allow access to the settings page.
In includes/Options.php on lines 45 and 76 I changed edit_plugins to activate_plugins and everything worked fine for the admins of individual sites. (In multisite, site admins can activate plugins, but not edit them).
Maybe a future update could make that change so the plugin (which looks like a good one!) would be multisite-friendly?
