Hello everyone,
I use the plugin on my WordPress site to collect donations. I am using the free version. Recently, I’ve been focusing a lot on data privacy, and I came up with the question: Is the plugin really GDPR compliant as promised?
In my opinion, it is not. So, directly to my question:
How can I add a checkbox that must be checked in order to give consent for being redirected to PayPal and for the data to be saved by the plugin itself?
Also, how can I configure the plugin so that the data is automatically deleted after a certain period of time? Why does the user even need to provide their first name, last name, and email? If tax-related reasons are mentioned – PayPal already stores this information.
Thanks!
There have been so many issues, I’m about ready to give up. I have embedded a simple charitable form on the page. These are the issues:
(1) a user cannot select any of the ‘suggested’ amount boxes, so what are those boxes for? Or is there a way I can make the functionality intuitive so a selection of a box auto-fills the amount and allows the user to continue on to donate.
(2) a user cannot enter a dollar amount in the blank box because it is already filled with $0.00. Instead a user must click on that amount and delete it and then enter a dollar amount.
(3) Even if (1) and (2) were fixed, it seems it may not matter because, after selecting the DONATE button, the user is sent to another page where the donation amount entered has disappeared and so it must be re-entered.
(4) The page that a user is sent to has text which I’d prefer not be there such as the author/date and a request for the user to login if they have an account.

Hi!
First, thank you for this great plugin ‘Charitable’.
I have installed this plugin on 2 different websites in the same way. However, on one website the campaign page shows up in a post format, while on the other website it shows as a Woocommerce product.
How can I set it up so that the campaign is shown as a post rather than a Woocommerce product?
Thank you in advance,
Marina
I would like to confirm if CCAvenue is supported as a payment gateway within your plugin. Could you please provide clarification on this?
I have completed the connection with Stripe and have tried several times to process payments in the production environment, but I keep receiving the error message, “We were unable to process your donation. Please reload the page and try again.” (See the attached image.)
When I checked with Stripe’s support center, they confirmed that the connection with Charitable is complete. By the way, PayPal payments are working without any issues.
What could be the cause of this?
Hi,
I tried to create campaign and the donation button does not appear in donation page instead it output errors as below
“campaign_hide_time_remaining” in /var/www/html/wp-content/plugins/charitable/includes/admin/campaign-builder/fields/class-campaign-summary.php on line 165
Thank you.
Hi, we are looking to migrate our recurring donations. To do so we need to supply the payment method or card ID in one of the following formats. How do I find this?
Hi,
I am interested in purchasing the license. Does your plugin stop working if I do not renew the license after 1 year?
Hi, my client wants to only accept offline donations (via e-transfer) so I have set it up to do so, but it keeps showing the error message “There are no active payment gateways. Enable one now.”
As we don’t want a payment gateway, how do I get this message to go away?
Hi there,
My campaigns are showing the message: The Donation has expired or the target has achieved.
They have been set up with no end date and no target goal, but I cannot accept donations as this message is being shown. Any idea why?

Hello.
These strings use the?esc_html()?function and are not translated:
Thanks.
I have a snippet you provided to check that WPCharitable doesn’t load stripe twice (as WooCommerce loads it too). Is there a similar code to check that reCaptcha isn’t already loaded so it doesn’t try to load twice?
This is not an issue but if you’re striving to be error free ?? .If you look at the console on a campaign page it says there are a couple of incorrect uses of?, referencing charitable-gateway-fields-stripe > label. Don’t suppose it’s easy to correct?
Also it says there’s an error loading a CSS file for the template?
Using the campaign builder, if I add a large image it appears in the builder at full size but you can’t scroll right to be able to edit the photo block.
Is there a way / snippet I can use to add the £ symbol to the goal amount in the campaign progress bar?
Hello!
I am testing out Charitable Lite for my client before we look at the Pro version, but am unable to create a campaign. After entering the name, I see the option to proceed with either a template or a simple 1 or 2 column blank.
Whether I click on a simple 1 or 2 column, or select one of the templates, I get the error “Heads up! Something went wrong while saving the form. Please reload the page and try again. Please contact the plugin support team if this behavior persists.” Reloading brings me back to the campaign creation page.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin. I am currently running WordPress 6.5.5 with PHP 8.0.30 and the Enfold theme from Kriesi. I have tried with the Payment Gateway set to test mode, and not in test mode. I have tried with PayPal enabled and disabled as a payment gateway.
Is there a step or a permission I might have missed somewhere?
Many thanks in advance!
every campaign I try to do, shows it as “this campaign is 5 months old. I haven’t achieved my goal”
The truth is I need to start with the free version to raise resources and then be able to buy the pro version but the campaigns simply do not work in the free version
I created a donate campaign and it looks fine in the preview. but when I paste it on the page and preview the page, it’s all out of order and indecipherable.

Can I just express how much I DESPISE the new “builder” feature. I FINALLY realized that I have to SAVE & REFRESH often just to see my changes. WTAF?? Themers like Beaver or Elementor don’t work like that???
And the “team” module??? Once I realized that I had to SAVE and REFRESH just to see the 5 columns for the team, I am still scratching my head trying to figure out how to add the actual team member photos.
I know this is supposed to be an improvement, but how “improved” is it if it’s a STRUGGLE for even a POWER user to use it! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!

The Donation Emails are firing when the donation get denies from authorize.net, why is that happening and how can I prevent that. It does not seem like it is supposed to be like that and rather this is a development Bug
We are having issues with donations not being submitted. The only error that is showing is in the console and it is giving a 400 (bad request) error. We are using Stripe for our gateway and we did have submissions go through about 2 weeks ago no problem. As far as I am aware no changes have been made to the settings.
The login registration form above the donation form needs to be disabled, allowing users to log in as guests instead.
Hi,
I would like to be able to translate the button and insert a custom text on each donation instead of “DONATE”, so when I click on the button the form that opens I would like to be able to edit and translate it.
How can I do this without touching the code?
Currently the field of the “DONATE” button has a bag does not allow to change the text.
thank you.
Just set up Charitable for taking cc donations. I think I have all the settings finally set correctly. Using the the new campaign donation form, after hitting Submit, gives me the following error: Missing payment details. Click here to double-check that all required payment fields are completed.
Clicking on it just takes me to the bottom of the screen, where I can see that all the payment fields are filled in and correct. So where is is coming from? What needs to be fixed?
Hi. It looks like the {Booking ID} tag returns the booking ID with the ‘#’ number sign in front of the booking number – i.e. #1525. I need the numbers of the booking ID only. I tried example #3 from this post but that didn’t make a difference:
https://www.wpbookingsystem.com/documentation/creating-custom-dynamic-tags/
I also tried using a few functions, such as preg_match_all(), but no difference either. I’m guessing the # is being added down the line.
I really would expect an ID field to not have any formatting on the value. Can you suggest a way to obtain this?
I set up a new campaign with a 2 column layout and have some questions.
Hi. Following this snippet to remove the donation field labels, and set them as the respective field placeholders:
https://library.wpcode.com/snippet/g5gq6j2m/
How do we do this with the payment fields immediately following the donor fields (first name, last name, email, etc). Is there a ‘payment_fields’ method we should call to get those fields?
