]]>Been using the chat feature as a way to track and log workplace activity for separate locations across the U.S. Since we started using it, the time has always been accurate to the timezone of the location logging in.
Recently, (as of 9/29/17 at approximately 0330 CST) the timestamps for chat entries have started to be adjusted for the timezone of the WordPress server instead of the computer terminal making the chat entry. For accurate record keeping purposes I would appreciate any input on how to change back, or a way to set the timezone for each individual chat box.

In chat.php you guys use an outdated version of the so called construct function.
We hope you can change it to __construct(). We would really love to use this plug-in on our PHP7 Servers.

]]>Using Buddypress 2.2.2 and WordPress 4.6.1 and Trying to figure out how to install the chat lite plugin to a group page…The only information I can find is on the plugin details which states the following:
“Provides you with a fully featured chat area either in a post, page or bottom corner of your site – once activated configure here and drop into a post or page by clicking on the new chat icon in your post/page editor.”
Okay, I configured it with no issue but can someone please tell me what “drop into a post or page by clicking on the new chat icon in your post/page editor” means? I have no clue what that means and when I open the group page, there is nothing to indicate a post/page editor. When I click on “Chat” in “settings” on the dashboard area, it directs me back to the configuration details.
So, what do I need to do to add this to the group page in order for people to chat? Thanks in advance for the help ??

Thank you very much for making the plugin available. I am hosting my site on wpengine, the wpengine hosting has a very strict policy regarding ajax calls not going via cache and we can’t get around using Apache because it has to process the PHP requests – it’s not a cacheable service.
it’s possible we can stop it making all those requests unless a chat has been activated. At the moment, the chat plugin sets up a 5s poll of that PHP script regardless of whether you have activated a chat or not

I am able to log-in and type in the message box. But when I hit on send message, it vanishes away (does not display in the message box after hitting on send). This is the case in every browser. I hope it is not the theme or any .js file that is conflicting. Please help.

I have some users that can see the chat space and login to chat. Once logged in can see the emoticons. But when try to send a message the message is not display and can’t see any message displaying on the chat. Just a blank space. I think that is some configuration on this pc because can’t see the chat content on any browser but I need to know what setting can be.

When I insert a new chat into a content block I notice that sometimes the chat id number given is the same of a previvious created chat. And the given ids are not incrementing logically. Sometimes the number increase or decrease randomly.

i am using wordpress 4.3.1 and i recently installed the chat plugin by wpmudev , and i wanted to know how can i get rid of the chat box when the user logs out from the site, now i am able to see the chats though the user cannot participate once logged out , but he still can view them , this should be avoided and thus i want the chat box to appear only when the user is logged in? i want help in this any suggestions pls , Thank you

1. Does the chat allow interaction based on the visitor’s actions? For example, if a visitor adds an item to cart, stays idle on a page more than 2 minutes, etc. can the chat window appear?
2. Does the chat integrate with any shopping carts such as WPMU’s cart? When speaking with a visitor on an e-commerce site, it would be helpful to quickly view their past orders.
3. Does the chat have any other helpful triggers? For example, if the website operator does not take any action for ?? minutes, the chat might pop up and ask if the operator is still there. If 5 minutes pass without a response, the chat goes to offline mode. Another example would be if a user ever waits more than ?2 minutes without a response, the “chat not available, please leave an e-mail” response would appear then the site would switch to offline mode for chat.
