Hello– any chance this plugin can be updated soon? thank you.
]]>Hello!
I recently discovered that childthemes created with Childify made the Plugin NextGEN Pro form imagery.com not to work.
I have to create the site again, not using any childtheme – then it worked perfect.
You might need to check this!
]]>“In the past, the common method was to import the parent theme stylesheet using @import; this is no longer the recommended practice, as it increases the amount of time it takes style sheets to load. Plus it is possible for the parent stylesheet to get included twice”.
]]>Hi,
I build up two websites (ok one, the second one is at work). In both cases i used the Customizr Theme and your childify Plugin. It works well, i like it.
Now i want to set up a new Website webshop-service.at. I want to use everything from the working Website – so i also use Customizr and your plugin. In functions.php and style.css i put in the adoptions i made at the other website.
Wordpress shows me that i am using the child theme – all seems to be ok – but the Functionality of the child functions.php and style.css is not taken.
I have no idea?
Wordpress: 5.2.2 Customizr:4.1.44
Any idea? How can i debug the situation?
best regards from Vienna, Ahmed
I’ve just activated this plugin and created a Child theme.
Well, actually the plugin did what everybody can do for a minute.
The most important functions.php file is not set up. Without this, the customization of files can’t be done.
So the child theme is not working. How to customize files now?
What’s the meaning of plugin then?
Grazie

]]>How do I create a child theme which will inherit ALL of the code from the original theme?
Do I copy all of the folders in the original theme folder to the child theme folder make the child theme folder the first searched directory? If yes, could you provide step by step instructions?
I would like to attempt this on the local desktop app and if successful, on a site I am building which is not live. Will the process be the same?
I would like to ask where do I locate the .php folders/files so that I may copy and edit the code? How do I give the child file priority over the parent file?
Could you direct me to valid code snippet source?
]]>Hi
Installed and activated childify plugin, but it doesn’t show on Customise screen of Customizrpro.
Then downloaded zip file and this failed to upload (hundreds of times).
SO I NEED URGENT HELP PLEASE
]]>This is an extra step I had to take in the avada theme to make it work, in case someone else has this problem. I love this plugin and have used it in countless themes, but today I was using avada, and it would NOT load the child stylesheet. I finally found in their example that you have to add the enqueue in functions.php to load the child stylesheet. Here is one unofficial post about it: https://www.presstigers.com/creating-a-child-theme-in-avada/ I just copied it from Avada’s included child stylesheet and lost the parent link in the child css file that childify created, and the child style.css finally loaded. I hope this saves someone else some time.
]]>Hello,
I installed the plugin on InkThemes Daily Bulletin Pro. I actually have 2 issues. First, there was no “editor” option available in the customization section and second, there is a white line at the top of every page with some unknown code written in it. Can anyone help please?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
]]>I can not locate my “Childify Me” button. I’m not very savvy with wordpress but I was able to get this far and have a working site til now. I am trying to get to my style sheet where I made my own personal changes to my theme. I was using it just fine, all my style settings are still working on my site so I know it still exists but where? But I am unable to find it to continue to make adjustments ie font size. I have gone to Appearance – Customize as well, and that page has changed too…it allows me to do nothing but upgrade. Any suggestions on how to find my button so I can access the style sheet?
]]>One of my 5 sites, all created with Customizr and all using childify-me, got injected around Feb 22 and now has the “HoeflerText” font wasn’t found” scam in it. (I’m trying to find the weakness that caused it but that’s another story.)
My question to you is:
For the sake of simplifying my site and the files that need to be cleaned, do I *have* to keep childify-me installed? Removing it would not stop my site from recognizing the child theme, right?
Hi,
I created a multisite (for now on localhost) and want to make a new child theme for Hueman using the plugin childify me, which works fine normally, I have used it several times on single sites.
Althouhg the plugin is network-activated, I cannot find the way to make a child theme: not on the networklevel nor on the level of the individual subsite.
Could anyone help me on this?
I’ve had this major issue with the Customizr Pro theme in that the provided Child theme didn’t work. They suggested I use your plugin.
I activated the plugin and setup the Child theme then added the code to remove the attributes from images on upload and it doesn’t work either. I tried the code my theme provide for adding a search function in the vertical menu in the functions.php file as well; that didn’t work.
It didn’t work with their child theme either. I am at a loss as to what’s going on but I really need it to work.
Any suggestions?
]]>Hi, Rocco.
I already have a custom.css file I’ve been using in my Hueman theme. Due to the new Customizer updates, can I copy and paste the contents of that file somewhere in the Childify Me plugin, to save me making all those changes all over all again? (I’ve changed font sizes, colour, weights, margins, etc)
And if so, should I only copy the bits I’ve added, or copy and paste the entire custom.css file into a Childify Me file?
Thank you!
]]>I need some basic info on how to use this plugin.
I want to edit some html for the footer of my website.
Do I copy the Google source info into Chilify and then edit it?
Will the edits be automatically incorpoated into the theme?
Is there an instruction manial for Childify?
Thanks.
]]>Hi
I am using Cutomizr Pro theme which recommends using Childify Me plugin to create child themes. I, however, need Childify Me button in WordPress Customizer visible only for network admin (I’m using WordPress in Multisite configuration).
Can I do that? How?
Regards!
]]>I LOVE Childify and have used it on many sites now. It’s absolutely terrific.
As much as I love seeing it in my sites, I am wondering whether we can — and possibly should — not only disable (as you have addressed in another help post — but also delete the plugin. I don’t dare try without the wise creator’s advice. I certainly would not want to delete my child theme!
I am only asking because we are told not to have unnecessary plugins in WordPress due to speed and vulnerability.
]]>Hi!
I really hope I am posting this in the right place… ??
I was trying to fix a different issue & accidentally posted some code that should have gone in the .css file in the function.php instead (I know – duh…). I then contacted Bluehost who renamed the child theme for me which put my site back online & got me back into my WordPress dashboard.
I then changed to parent theme, deleted the child theme and uninstalled Childify Me. After this, I downloaded & installed Childify Me again, created and activated a new child theme & put in the code I had without the line which I had put in by mistake.
The .css file updated without problem, but when I added the function.php code it crashed again, even without the line of code.
Here is what I added into the function.php of the child theme:
<?php
/* Write your awesome functions below */
add_filter( 'loop_shop_per_page', create_function( '$cols', 'return 24;' ), 20 );
/****Get rid of WooCommerce related products*****/
remove_action( 'woocommerce_after_single_product_summary', 'woocommerce_output_related_products', 20 );
This code was working before so I’m not sure why it crashed the site? Bluehost got the site back up for me (again) but since then I am just using the Customizr parent theme & haven’t done anything with Childify Me.
I’m not sure if the problem is in the code, the Customizr theme, or Childify Me… or even something else entirely, but I would really like to get my site back to normal with the CSS & functions alterations I had before my stupid mistake.
Theme, WordPress & plugins are all up to date. I don’t have FTP access to my site. My site is: https://delicate-elegance.com/
I hope this all makes sense & thank you so so much in advance for your help!
Best wishes,
Katie
]]>I get it not to operate from Customizr.

]]>Hi!
On my site, the variations on product pages disappeared after I updated to WordPress 4.3 & WooCommerce 2.4.6.
As you can see when you scroll down to beneath the image, the information (which is entered in the back end & which used to be displayed before the updates) under ‘Description’ & ‘Additional Information’ has disappeared: https://delicate-elegance.com/product/1211-02-boys-four-piece-christening-special-occasion-outfit/
When looking for a solution, I found this post under WooCommerce support: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/24-common-issue-variations-missing-on-product-pages?replies=1
In this, it says that this problem is caused by the theme & the theme should be updated. In my WordPress dashboard, I looked under WooCommerce > System Status, and under the info about the theme on my site, it says:
Name: Customizr – Child
Version: 1.0 – 3.4.6 is available
I assumed the problem with WooCommerce is being caused by the fact that the theme is not up-to-date, so I tried to find a way to update it but I couldn’t.
I guessed this might be being caused by the Childify Me plugin, but I am just guessing! I hope I’m asking this in the right place & I’m really sorry if I’m not! I don’t have much experience in this (hence why I’m using this plugin – which, by the way, is great!) so I’m just trying to find out what’s causing the problem & how to fix it.
THANK YOU so much for your help!!!
Katie
]]>Hi there,
I came across your ‘so EZ-2-use’ plugin after I had trouble with another CT plugin on my WP multisite installation in dev.
It worked like a charm on the mainsite and in subsite1. After that I until the upgraded to WP 4.2.4. When I went to another subsite(2), activated this plugin, tried out the Eco-Green theme, activated it, then went to create a child, I realized that the Childify Me button was nowhere to be found in the Theme Customizer! Nor was it present as it should be in the Theme Preview window.
So, I tried this:
1) Double checked the plugin was activated in subsite2. check
2) Deactivated the other CT plugin in subsite2. check
3) Cleared out the FF40 browser cache and re-logged in as Network Admin.
4) Went back to Theme Customizer Options in subsite2 to see if it was now there- NO!
5) Chose to Live Preview another theme in subsite2 to see if the options showed up in that one- nope!
6) Went back to the network main site, chose to Live Preview another theme to see if the options showed up in that one- YES!
7) Went back to subsite1, chose to Live Preview another theme to see if plugin option appeared in the Theme Customizer- YES!
8) Decided to deactivate your plugin, delete it from the network, then reinstall it.
8) I network activated it, then again activated it subsite2.
9) Chose not one but 2 other themes to Live Preview on subsite2.
9b)RESULT- Childify Me options do not show up on any Live Previewed theme in subsite2!
10) Thought hard about slitting my wrists with a rusty knife, for all of about 20 sec.
11) Decided to post here for an answer before slitting my wrists.
Please help me out here! I dont really want to self-harm.
]]>Hi!
The website I am working on is christening-baptismal.com and I am using the Customizr theme.
I’m really happy with Customizr, but there are two things I would like to change & I’m getting a bit stuck doing it.
As recommended in the Customizr manual, I have installed Childify Me and activated the child theme.
1) I would like to change the skin colour to match the brand’s colour – #8c001a – and have tried to follow this tuturial (https://presscustomizr.com/snippet/create-new-skin-color/) but as I am not using a child theme through an FTP client I don’t know where to find the actual CSS code to edit it – this means I can’t even do step 1 (“Go to /wp-content/themes/customizr/inc/css and move a copy of red.css to /wp-content/themes/customizr-child/inc/css. Now copy the 3 subdirectories (fonts, img and rtl) from /wp-content/themes/customizr/inc/css to /wp-content/themes/customizr-child/inc/css/”).
2) I would also like to make the tagline in the upper right hand corner bigger, as at the moment, it isn’t very obvious. Again, without being able to find the code, I’m a bit stuck. Also, I realise that the site is responsive and that the font size changes depending on the device/etc. so I’m not sure how to take this into account either.
In my site’s dashboard under Appearance > Edit CSS, but there’s just a message saying “/*Welcome to Custom CSS!To learn how this works, see https://wp.me/PEmnE-Bt*/ ” but I’ve looked at the link and it doesn’t help at all as my screen doesn’t look like the one shown in the link.
I’ve also looked under Appearance > Editor > Styles > Stylesheet (style.css) but there again the only text is: “/*Theme Name: Customizr – Child Version: 1.0 Description: A child theme of Customizr Template: customizr Author: Administrator */ /* Your awesome customization starts here */” and I can’t see anything to edit…
I hope this makes sense & I’m really sorry if this is a really basic question, but I would be so grateful for any tips and advice you can give me!
Thank you in advance ??
]]>Hi,
Thanx for the wonderful plugin!
For my blog (theme custumizr) i made a childtheme. I made a mistake editing the functions.php file of my childtheme.
I get this warning:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘http’ (T_STRING) in /public/sites/www.beeldopener.nl/wp-content/themes/customzrchild/functions.php on line 5
I can’t enter wordpress to change the code. I tried to change things in cyberduck, but I can’t find the files there.
Is there a way around this? I’m a beginner….
Thanx
]]>I have installed the plugin and created a child theme. I called it CustomizerChild
When I go tho the editor and select the child theme it gives me two files that I can edit. tThe One I want to edit is function.php. I open the file and then past in the code to show a widget area under the header. I got this from the customizer site.
After updating the file I go to Appearance>Themes>Widgets and the new widget area is not there.
If on the other hand I paste this same code into the non child theme’s function.php everything works well.
If I go to Appearance>Themes> it shows that the child has been attached to the parent theme.
Any ideas

]]>I downloaded and installed Childify Me. I then activated it. It says it’s activated but I don’t see it when I look at my plugins.
]]>Have you considered submitting this to core feature plugin list for possible inclusion into wp core? TBH I’ve thought something like this should have been there from the start of child themes to get people using them properly.
