I just logged into my dashboard to run some updates and saw this message at the top of the screen?
‘Wow, now your website works again. Please consider making a donation. Thank you! ‘ Have I been hacked? Has someone gotten through my cast iron defences? Should I be worried, should I ring my client and tell them their site is hacked?
What on earth??!? I’m sure it must be linked to the developer of one of the plugins I’m using, but it looks a bit threatening! I took a chance and clicked the PayPal donate button and it turns out this is a message from the ‘WP Chrome SSL Fix’ plugin.
As a friendly note to the developer, if you put your plugin name in the message it won’t be as scary for us site admins!
