Hello,
I’m looking for a solution to create a temporary redirect, that redirects all visitors from the main home page to another site page.
Once this is installed and a redirect is setup, would a logged in site admin get redirected also?

]]>Hello,
I can’t figure out how to get the plugin to work as I want it to.
My goal
I just moved from a drupal site to a wordpress site, I want the old urls to keep working even when there’s no page on that url anymore (it should redirect to the new wordpress url).
Main settings
Redirect File Name: redirectit.php
Absolute Path To Redirect File: /public/sites/www.soundflex.nl/
URL Type: Advanced
URL To Redirect File (excluding file name): https://www.soundflex.nl/
Redirect For No Match: https://www.soundflex.nl
P.S. redirectit.php has 777 permissions.
Redirect settings
Redirect URL: https://www.soundflex.nl/rayv
Name: rayv
Destination URL: https://www.soundflex.nl/tours/spaanse-gitaristzanger/
Aliases: spaansegitarist
Type: on
Results and problems
Visiting https://www.soundflex.nl/redirectit.php?l=rayv works
Visiting https://www.soundflex.nl/rayv results in a 404 error
Visiting https://www.soundflex.nl/spaansegitarist results in a 404 error
I hope that you can give me a little insight there to What I am missing.
Thank you in advance,
Maarten

]]>I’m sorry I am trying to figure out if this would work for me. I’ve tried a couple of things and not sure I am doing it correctly.
I have a site that has links to an external site but that site won’t be ready for a few days so we just want to links to redirect to an internal page with a “coming soon” message. Once the external site is ready we just want to be able to turn them all back on to go to the external site without having to go into each page, post, widget, etc.
The way I’m doing it just seems to still go to the external url.
Do you have more screenshots or a video or a more detailed explanation?

]]>First off, we are not running on Apache, but on the nginx server — I think Redirectit should still work, but maybe not?
We get the “FAILURE! Redirect file is NOT writeable!” no matter what we try. We’ve set the site root folder to 777, created a blank redirectit.php file at the site root, set permissions to 777 (and 755, and 666…), and made sure the owner and group is the same for all the other wordpress files. No joy.
Is there anything else you can think of for us to try?
Thanks.

Are these 1st two errors due to my prefix fold_wp?
On rebuild redirect process:

After clicking Build Redirect File permissions problems are displayed.
redirectit.php is located in
/srv/users/serverpilot/apps/shop/public/redirectit.php
with permissions 777. I guess this relates to incorrect install because of database errors above.

]]>I have a problem with a WP plugin redirecting all created links (text/images) to my site’s home page versus to the link specified – internal and external link issue. I have used the full url for the link. Also when I look at the code in the source file, the link is being rewritten as the home page versus the specified link.
I am creating new wordpress site under a subdomain: sitename.net/wordpressfoldername while my other site is still running
Will your program work to fix this issue or do you think something else is causing this problem?

]]>Hello – I’m not sure that what I’m wanting to do is actually possible, though it seems like it should be.
I have a wp site installed at https://wp.mysite.com/wp
I want to redirect people going to the old site https://www.mysite.com
to the new one – BUT keep https://www.mysite.com in the url bar.
Redirecting with .htaccess was easy – but because mod_proxy cannot be enabled on the server, I can’t do it with .htaccess.
Can I do it with this plugin?
Thanks for all/any help! Jim

]]>Hi, I have several sub-domains that I need to redirect to the main home page of my site. Examples:
– kate.powerofaloe.com should open powerofaloe.com.
– john.powerofaloe.com should open powerofaloe.com.
I need to do this so that JavaScript on the main home page can detect ‘john’ or ‘kate’ in the URL of the sub-domain and customize the main page for either John or Kate. This way I will have one site that will look different for different owners of my sub-domains.
I created sub-domains with my hosting provider and pointed them to a separate sub-directories under public_html. I do not know how to redirect them to the main page. Forwarding them at the hosting provider level won’t work because it will be forwarded before the page opens and I won’t be able to read the sub-domain with JavaScript. Can you help me with this? Thank you!

]]>I’ve got my redirectit.php file with 777 permissions in a chmod directory with 777 permissions and redirectit has written to it. This is not my problem.
My problem is: When I click on “Add Redirect” then type a name in the “Name” box, a destination URL in the “Destination URL” box, with the “On (Standard)” radio button selected, and then click on the “Add” button, I receive a message stating the it has been successfully saved, yet it I try to review it or “Build Redirect File” none of my information has been included.

FAILURE! Redirect file is NOT writeable!
This needs to be corrected before redirect file may be generated! Often this is caused by an incorrect permission setting on the web server. Please check your configuration.
Thank you!

]]>Can you use your redirect for affiliate sites ?? The site provides you with a url code and if I’m correct in my thinking, your plugin can be used to redirect the user to the site with simply adding the code name and the affiliate url. It will not display the url to the user, it will simply take them to the site. Am I correct in my thinking ??
Thank you..
