Is it possible to use multiple tags when using the col-span shortcode? If so, are the tags separated by commas?
Have you tried Shortcode Tester? I have and when I checked out your column shortcode I got this prettified shortcode in its place:

Don’t know if this would make a difference, but it might.
Would adding -moz-column-span make a difference?
It looks like your plugin interferes with the CSS I’m using. I’ve tried the Jetpack CSS editor, the SiteOrigin CSS editor, and the Simple CSS plugin and none of them work as long as CM CSS Columns is active.
But first I want to thank you for your patience and your assistance.
That said I found it easy to use, as long as I restricted myself to the basic shortcode. With just that I got two columns, which is what I was looking for. In short, you’ve got a useful plugin here.
I do recommend that you automate the procedure, for my autism plays havoc with my short-term memory.
I also recommend adding the ability to “end column” much as is done in Libre Office or Microsoft Word. Or you may want to see how Scribus handles the matter—they use XML for layout, and that should be translatable to CSS.
I can also see the CM-CSS-Columns plugin incorporated into a page builder such as Simply Symphony. I see it making the results better.
In any case my thanks again, and I wish you the best in your projects.
Not conflicting with menus that is. I know you did something, I just know it, but damned if I can figure out what you did. At least know I can do proper text columns without having to finagle with text.
I got to thinking and the following popped into my head. My first suggestion would be to let the poster set what the material will be going between. At the moment I’m thinking of the div and /div tags. The multicolumn CSS would then go between them. A button on the visual editor for adding the div tag, then the /div tag. I know you’d really have to use the text editor for the tags, but there maybe someway to do it using the visual.
It’s still interfering with submenus,I suspect some javascript, but that’s just a guess.
I have a talent for typoes, so I prefer not to write shortcodes out unless I absolutely have to. Is there any way you could add a shortcode button to the visual editor that would let you add them that way.
The option to add specific attributes would also be nice.
When your plugin is active pop-ups and drop down menus don’t work. I have the technical skill of a kitten of 8 weeks, so I can’t tell you what the cause is, but something tells me you do have a problem to be fixed.
Does your plugin work with Simply Symphony? If so, how well?
At the moment you have to type out the shortcode you need for what you want. Are there plans to add buttons you could use to add the details you want? Say one button to start/end the short code, and other buttons to add width, span, and other things. So you would first it “start”, then “column #”, “gutter width”, and “background color” then “end”.
Or however you want to handle it.
In any case I have a toy to play with, thank you for your work.
