I’m thinking about utilizing the Comic Easel plugin, but I already made my comic and posts using elementor. How do I insert the plugin settings without messing up the posts I made? And does it support elementor?
Hello and thanks in advance! I’m new to wordpress and comic easel, I’ve got it installed and have a theme that works for me but I don’t know how to make the most recent/latest comic I post be the default page that shows up when someone visits my URL. All I get now at the example.com homepage is a sample page form wordpress, I have to add /comics/ to get to my gallery. Is this possible?
I have a recent problem with Comic Easel interfering with admin left sidebar. Am I the only one??
I am working with comicpress and comic easel to create a theme for a client. Unfortunately, I have hit a roadblock. I am supposed to make a chapter selection page but… none of the shortcode options gave me quite what I needed.
[comic-archive list=0 thumbnail=1]
If the chapter thumbnail image had a link to the start of the chapter I would be set. I managed to get it LOOKING how i want it. But I really need these tiles to link to the start of each chapter.
The only way I can think to do this would be… frustrating and time consuming- creating a custom walker in php to traverse all the pages and generate the tiles for me. I am already going to have to do that for the somewhat elaborate ‘characters’ page and would like to avoid extra work on something as simple as a chapter select, if possible.
does anyone have any advice for doing this quickly and easily?
I added Woocommerce recently and I fear that the plugin messed up Comic Easel. If I remove the wordpress plugin, the archive page is blank and “Previous/Next Chapter” buttons don’t work. If I activate the plugin, then I get an archive page back, but the previous and next chapter buttons still don’t work. And the chapter order numbers are gone.
Also, if you go to a previous chapter (aka episode) and reach the end, it will not automatically go to the next chapter of the comic.
Has anyone else encountered this problem and know of a fix or some sort of solution.
Hi all! Every page I upload is aligned right instead of centered. Can anyone help me fix it so the page is centered? Thank you!
I already build my comic site; I just need to add a navigation bar from comic Easel. How can I add one without redoing everything I did just to replace my site with the comic easel format?
My webhost doesn’t allow the Comicpress theme (or plugins) so I use a free website for my free comics (it’s also a way to have less pictures on my website). I use the ComicEasel plugin but I don’t see a way to embed my whole comic instead of a single page. For my normal website I can use a SlideShare, but that’s not the effect I want, since I want my comic to start over again after the end (a loop). Does anyway know how to to embed the whole comic when using Comicpress/ComicEasel? Thanks!
Hello,
I want to remove the pagination of the comic-blog-post which appear underneath the comic because the comic already has navigation above and below, but I don’t know which template from the plugin editor would have the code I need to remove.
I tried hiding the pagination by adding .posts-navigation, .post-navigation {display: none;
But it removes the pagination from the normal blog of the website which I want it to still have.
Same with comic title/date which I’ve hidden via “Additional CSS” but rather remove altogether to still have them in the normal blog posts.
Thank you
I’ve been playing around with both Comic Press and Easel for around three months to see what works or not. I do have multiple questions I need help (and preferably one-to-one teaching ><). When you see my website, it may look like I just slapped a bunch of things but it is for testing.
Archive
1) How do I go about make a full, paginated archive page with a 100px x 100px with its date on top (that isn’t large)?
2) For each chapter’s own archive, how do I just have it as thumbnails and remove the post details?
3) How do I remove the “Chapter: Title” on each post?
White Line
1) How do I remove the white line whenever I first got to homepage? After refreshing, it disappears. It bothers me it still exist.
Entry Text Align
1) How do I align the post entry with the title and date?
I’m linking to a screenshot, because my issue is with the backend wp-admin page. All other screens look normal, but when I try to manage comics in comic easle, the columns of the UI are one character wide making it almost impossible to use.
If I use the Chrome inspector to alter the CSS I can fix it, but it seems like the errors are in the wp-admin CSS, which seems odd.
I tried deleting and reinstalling the plugin to no effect. I don’t know how my wp-admin CSS could have been altered, or how to “reset” it.
Using wordpress/inkblot theme/comic easel plugin
my work is tagged into different chapters, and when you click on a chapter, the work is listed, but again when you click on a comic, it appears twice.
the latest comic posted also appears on the contact page, twice.
I’d like to know why comics are appearing twice, and also, if possible to stop latest comic automatically posting above the media in the contact page (or whatever home page i designate).
Any help much appreciated. It is driving me crazy!!
Hi! I started using Comic Easel and I am in the process of adding comics and build my site. The problem is, my comics are posting as just posts. There is no navigation bar, no anything. Just a small thumbnail. I followed all the instructions in the posting page and this keeps happening. I set it as the featured images, etc.
I just need to know how to fix this, it is very frustrating. Thank you for any help!
Hi so I’ve been having two issues that I can’t find anywhere else.
The first issue is that there is a white box around my navigation buttons that I can’t seem to make go away. I’m not very good with css, and I haven’t found anything related to this. It shows up on every navigation graphic set, and doesn’t go away even if I enable the default navigation. It first showed up when I disabled the default navigation and selected one of the graphics. This was before I added my custom one, so that wasn’t the issue.
The second issue is that on every page except the homepage, underneath the navigation and above the panel with the title and tags it shows a cropped, smaller version of the comic page. It’s really obnoxious and I’m not sure how to get rid of it. Nothing i’ve messed around with on the edit comic section or on comic easel’s config have affected it, so i’m not sure what’s causing it
I would really appreciate any help I could get. Like I said I know very little css and this is my first time making a website. Thank you!
Was getting weird display issues in my layout, which I tracked to a missing
in the Easel theme PHP. Somehow WordPress was managing to correct for this when I was logged-in, but in private browsing, it screwed things up.
Problem code:
' ' . __( '*NAME','easel' ) .'
',
Should be:
' ' . __( '*NAME','easel' ) .'
',
Changed it on my site and it seems to be fine now! But please put a general fix in the next plugin update.

Chapter Issue
My comics all have chapters and I’m trying to set up those chapters in Comic Easel, but for whatever reason, I’m completely failing at it. I’ve read what is already out there on this subject but to no avail.
The chapters aren’t connecting to each other…is there a dummy proof step by step on how to do this?
Question
Has anyone found a way to set up the post page differently? I saw that there was a shortcode string, but it left much to be desired. Has anyone found a way to have only the title page/cover page of the comic show on the post page and not every individual chapter that is posted? Kind of like Woocommerce products work. So then when you click on the comic title it brings you to another page where all the chapter thumbs are (which are properly connected to one another, navigational wise).
Thanks in advance!

I am having a hard time figuring out how to set up the archive page for my webcomic. I am using ComicPress with Comic Easel. I have been to Comics > Config > Archive. I have been to ComicPress Options > Archive & Search. No matter what I check (or uncheck) my archive page never displays anything. I assigned all of my comics to a chapter and tried putting a chapter widget in my menubar. When I go to that page I can only see a small sliver of something. Can anyone help? Thanks.
Is the comic easel plugin still being developed?
Hi everyone,
I’ve read through the docs and a lot of the threads on here. Also tried to do this myself, and cannot get it to work. Set up the latest comic and comic archive pages. They don’t show anything, despite me having made the six issues and added a couple pages to issue 1 to test.
I have 6 issues of a comic I’m working on. I want to show all the pages of each issue on their own comic page, like how Tapas does it. How to do this? A shortcode? Inserting a PHP code into a custom theme template file? Please help. Thanks.

I’d like the width of my page to adjust to the size of the browser. Specifically, I’d like the width to be smaller on mobile phones, and wider on desktop screens.
The option for width only has one number, I assume I can modify this via CSS somewhere…but I’m not sure how…
Hello,
I can’t get the comic book structure with series and chapters to work well.
Can you give me a hand?
I wish it was the same as the site function: https://www.wilderonline.com/serie/australia/1-perth/.
I would like automatically to have buttons at the bottom like: next chapters, previous chapters, chapter list.
Let me know it’s urgent, greetings.

Hey!
I’ve got a cosmetic issue with spread pages. I’m not terribly advanced with CSS so I can’t seem to conjure up a solution for this.
Single page comics show up just fine. They’re always a fixed width and pose no problems, as they center without issue and align with everything else. However, if you look at the linked page, you’ll notice that the spread pages are a little awkward to look at. They don’t center, and you have to scroll right to view them.
I reckon the centering problem is because the comic image inherits its properties from the body. Is there any way to fix this?
This is how the CSS for the #comic and #comic img look like.
#comic img {
max-width: 2000px;
height: auto;
text-align: center;
border-bottom-right-radius: 15px;
border-bottom-left-radius: 15px;
border-top-left-radius: 15px;
border-top-right-radius: 15px;
border-bottom: solid 1px #000;
border-top: solid 1px #000;
border-left: solid 1px #000;
border-right: solid 1px #000;
}
#comic {
display: block;
margin-left: auto;
margin-right: auto;
padding-left:45px;
padding-top: 0px;
text-align: center;
display: table-cell;
vertical-align: top;
width: 100%;
}
Cheers!
Is it possible to have the archive page list the comics in ascending order (oldest first) instead of newest first?
He wants to switch to a static home page with a button to the latest comic. How would I do this without breaking the existing webpage/comic setup?
Web stuff is not my strong suit, but I did notice this option under comic easel: Disable Comic on the Home Page? – Checking this will stop the display of the comic and comic area on the home page
What the best option to create the static page that it will continue to work with the comics created?
What would be the best link for the menu to allow the viewer to see the latest comic?
Thanks in advance
Hi,
Trying to setup comic press with comic easel. I don’t get a navigation bar appearing below the comic if I go to Appearance :> widgets – under comic and tick ‘previous’ and ‘next’ links the nav bar appears above the comic instead of below it.
What could be the cause and resolution ?
Thanks

Hello,
I added a second comic to my website, ticked the box “navigation only” and at some point the landing pages both stopped showing the featured image I had set even though a correct thumbnail is generated in “edit comics”.
On the langing page There’s only the navigation buttons and they work fine but the comic area is empty until I click on “first” or another button, the navigation works fine.
I tried to :
– choose other featured images
– reset all settings in “comics>config”
– delete all chapters, import again and add chapters again
– tick “Display first comic of the chapter on the landing page?” in “navigation” but the landing page still show the same page, the latest one, with empty comic area and the navigation menu.
Oddly, the chapter’s page shows a correct thumbnail of the featured image. I’ve searched a solution for some time and as a beginner I’m kind of desperate, would you be so kind as to help me?
Thanks a lot,
Jeremie
Hello,
I am interested in working on a site that is currently built with WPBakery. I currently do not have access to it so I can’t ask their support, so I’d like to see if anyone has experience with this. I’m not knowledgable with PHP either.
Can I with this plugin by inserting the php code, for example, do_action(‘comic-area’) to the functions.php? I assume I can’t just duplicate from single.php and have a second template due to the possible complexity and issues with a page builder.
Thanks.
