I am using this plugin with two different themes. Install – Modify Settings – and it works instantly. It removes the option to leave comments on attachments. Excellent, thank you!

I hate getting spam comments on media files, images and such. Making comments only available on posts no older than 15 days makes me very happy. This was so simple, and worked like a charm. Thank you, thank you!

Allowed me to exactly what I wanted to do, very easily too.

Remove all comments from all posts and pages on site, while allowing commenting on any new posts or pages.

This way, only the new page I posted (a guestbook page) would get comments. No comment forms present on any other pages.

I’ve used this plugin on enough WordPress installs that I thought I’d give it a review. (I have trouble finding it every time in search, although so far it seems to be the main comment plugin that actually does what I need.)

The plugin disables comments on pages while leaving post comments alone, can go back and enable or disable comments programmatically across existing posts and pages. A time-saver.
