Hello – I am the maintainer of “Comment Reply Email Notification” which is still actively developed and maintained.
Recently I got a support request since your plugin was reported to have a security issue: https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/wordpress-plugins/comment-reply-notification.
The problem here is, that my plugin has nearly identical name and people can easily get confused that and think it’s my plugin which is affected. Since your plugin has not been updated for nearly 13 years it’s obvious that you stopped maintaining it long ago. In this case it is better to close the plugin completely, so it is clear that the plugin is not available any longer – thank you!
]]>It triggers Fatal Error message when enabled/comments.
Guess this module has not been updated / supported for years now.
]]>This plugin uses the mysql_escape_string()
function, which was deprecated in PHP 4.3.0 and completely removed in PHP 7… so it triggers a fatal error when a new comment is left.
Pretty sure this plugin has been abandoned by the developer (hasn’t been updated in 6 years), so I’d recommend finding a different option.
]]>Hello,
It is not working yet ??

]]>Lately I’ve been seeing this error in my site’s debug.log file:
> PHP Notice: A feed could not be found at https://theme10.com/feed/. A feed with an invalid mime type may fall victim to this error, or SimplePie was unable to auto-discover it.. Use force_feed() if you are certain this URL is a real feed. in /wp-includes/class-simplepie.php on line 1580
I see it corresponds to an error in one of my dashboard blocks, a block inserted by the Comment Reply Notification plugin:

Does anyone know why this is happening, and/or how to fix the error?

]]>Hi,
I have seen two topics about this but none of them has a solution.
Basically my question is how can I change the email from which the notifications are sent? I don’t see the option so I am guessing this has to be changed through the code or with my host provider?
The database email from which it’s sent really doesn’t look good so I would like to change it.
Thanks for your help
Monika

Any feature for this?
Thanks.

]]>Hi all
Just wanted to let you know that I’ve installed this useful plugin in my 3.5.2 blog at: https://my2cents.gawaher.com and it is working flawlessly. I was suspicious because it was not updated since 2010, but installing it was a piece of cake. You can try it in my blog if you want, but the reply you’ll get will be in Arabic! (one can easily customize the email it sends).
What’s beautiful about this excellent plugin, is that it sends emails to non-registered users, based on the email they leave when commenting at your blog.
Cheers!

]]>Hi there!
It’s all in the title – I really couldn’t figure out how to integrate this plugin into the JetPack comments system.
Anyone familiar? Is there a shortcode or a line to add somewhere within the Jetpack php?
Thanks for the help!

]]>First of all, thanks for the great plugin – works flawless!
2 thoughts though:
1. Is there any way to let readers unsubscribe from comment notifications? A link [shortcode] in an email would be awesome.
2. If there is no “Reply to comment” button (when maximum comment levels are exceeded), people normally click “Reply” one level upper. This means they won’t gen any notifications on their comments, because there is no “Reply” button for their left comments, so no one can actually “reply” on their comment.
Is there any way to overcome this?
Thanks a lot!

]]>this plugin takes very long time to get notified through email.
I tried it on my site @ https://vsagar.com/students/2010/12/12/want-to-become-a-ham/comment-page-1/#comment-760 and tested it, but takes very long around 15 – 20 minutes to get the notification.
AND SOMETIMES SOME OF THE NOTIFICATIONS FAIL TO GET…

]]>Hi Guys
Is there a way to change the email address it sends from when I reply to a post. Currently it is set to np-reply@domainname
If the Admin replies can it be sent from a chosen email address (eg blog@domainname) through its own mailserver using SMTP auth
If another user comments then it can be sent via no-reply@domainname
Cheers

]]>Hi, I’ve had 2 problems with the plugin:
1. The email reply format cannot be customized. Or at least even after customizing it, the emailed reply remains the same, like:
Nap Time Rocks! inform respectfully: your comment on post Stillness and a birthday wish now have new reply
your comment:
test commentreply comment:
test nested replyYou can see detail for the comment on this post here:
[blog post]Nap Time Rocks! thanks for your attention
So I deactivated and deleted the plugin.
2. When I installed another plugin called ReplyMe which has the same functionality, my reply now sends 2 email notifications! One coming from the ReplyMe plugin and one from this plugin.
I’ve checked and refreshed several times just to make sure that the old plugin is gone.
So do you have any idea why this is still happening?
Thanks!

]]>Hey guys,
I’ve been trying to get this working for so long it’s crazy.
Finally, using the amazing wp-mail-smtp plugin (https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/) to send the mails from smtp works 100% perfectly with wordpress 3.0.1
I heavily de-bugged the comment-reply-notification and discovered it’s 100% fine, no need for ANY modifications at all.
(You can even use google to send the smtp mails – see here: https://www.callum-macdonald.com/code/wp-mail-smtp/)
I hope this helps someone!

]]>A french translation for this plugin can be found here :
By the way, the translations files are not up-to date (except the 2 above) : notification e-mail content and reset check box texts do not match the texts in the php source code

]]>This was brought to my attention after wordpress 3.0 so I do not know if it affects 2.9 or not.
Even after changing themes and reducing down to only a handful of incredibly common plugins, this plugin, on two different blogs, will function properly if comments are made from the blog post itself, but not if they are made from the dashboard.
This means that for many people, the plugin is functionally broken, as they prefer to reply from the dashboard.
