I needed to clean up an old blog that had been overrun by spam, this sounded like it would be a good tool but after installing the dashboard pages threw large “Bad Gateway” error as well as various php error relating to the plugin attempting to grab content from off-site sources.

This plugin also requires a (free) API key to use. I decided to attempt to get an API key anyway, however registration required not only name and email but also a phone number, after the API issuing site crashed on me 3 times without giving me a key I gave up.

I’m very pleased with the plugin. When I first started with Comment SPAM Wiper, I had a ton of SPAM comments and I had to manually approve(or not) every one of them. I lost a LOT of time. Now I rarely even go to the comments tab. Good job guys!
