This needed updating to use an action instead of hacking the theme. I’ve done that and uploaded it to https://www.software.coop/source/ but how can I update the version on this site?

The comments with openID plugin relied on the comments form defined in THEME/comments.php. The comments form portion moved to wp-includes/comments-template.php in WP 3.0+.
