I am trying to generate sitemaps using the Companion Sitemap Generator plugin, but I keep encountering the message: “We had to create a file first, please update the sitemap again.”
To troubleshoot, I have:
sitemap.xml file in the website’s directory, yet the error remains.Despite these efforts, I’m still unable to generate the sitemap. Does anyone know what could be causing this issue and how to fix it?

I am using “Companion Sitemap Generator” v4.5.9.3 with WordPress 6.7 and Polylang 3.6.5. The translation mappings are incorrect in the XML file:

]]>How can I prevent Type, Scope, and Module Width from appearing on the site map? See https://rolfresearchfoundation.org/sitemap . I used the Content Filter tab and all occurrences of Type are unchecked. There isn’t an option to remove Scope or Module Width.

]]>I love Companion Sitemap Generator! We use it in many of the wordpress sites that we maintain. We are having a problem with an installation on a specific website and are receiving this error: “This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.” Any idea of why this might be and how to resolve it? At this point the plug-in isn’t generating a sitemap.
I’m going to deactivate the plug-in for now until I can find a working solution.

Hi. I installed this plugin as it seemes to be a good sitemap creator for multisite install.
Unfortunately it does not seem to create more than the main domains sitemap with an addition the subdomains ID. I do need it to use the mapped domain in the sitemap.
I have only acitvated this plugin on one of the subdomains mapped to https://wesenlund.se/sitemap-11.xml and there is a sitemap with links to the subdomain only. How to get passed that problem?
