There’s a fork of this plugin, called Slick Google Map, which removes the reminders added by the current maintainer encouraging you to convert to a premium service.
Thank goodness for open source and the GPL!

Must buy the premium version to get a usable plugin.

free version is not recommended to use.

hi,
i need this plugin to be used by php code which let my users when post their articles and chose location the map be shown in the same place as all other posts. (Fixed Place).

I understand the plugin author wants you to switch to the new version, but ruining this one in the process was unnecessary. Also, the new plugin is not free and comes with a brief trial. I recommend WP Google Maps. Free and customizable and way better than this one.

false advertising to get you to buy full version

It moved the pin on the map four streets away from our business, I noticed a lot of customers who booked appointments for haircuts not showing up because of this HORRIBLE PLUGIN. Now it tells you to pay to fix this damn shit!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS AND DO NOT PAY A DIME FOR THIS CRAP OPERATION!!

I hate this manner of acting!
Attracting people with a “full free version” and then saying “hey, this sh*t is no longer working. Come and pay a real full version of what you don’t want to pay for!”
You made me waste my time, even while taking my time writing a review!
i’m going to use the google’s iframe…

This plugin has never worked 100% properly for me, and I’ve never had responses to my queries.
I would highly suggest using Intergeo Maps, this is all I use these days for Google Maps purposes.

There is no point installing this plugin, all it does is spam your dashboard with messages to buy the commercial version and saying it is discontinued.
There are plenty of other Map Plugins, no point wasting time on this, it is not supported.

Thanks for you work, really help us!

Have had this installed for a few years. Never much of a problem. A couple minor glitches (usually due to upgrades), quickly fixed.
Quite happy with it.

Also found I can’t add or edit a link on a page or post when this plugin is enabled under WP 4.0. Definitely need this bug fixed!

This plugin worked great until WordPress 4.0 was installed. I had to disable the plugin to be able to add media to blogs.

It has taken me 3 days to troubleshoot why none of my links within posts/pages no longer worked. ADD MEDIA, ADD CATEGORIES, EDIT (permalinks), none of those editor links worked. After changing themes, which was not the problem, and after disabling all my plugins, this was the last one, and everything was enabled again. I re-activated all plug-ins one at a time, still buttons worked. This was the last one to re-activate, and the problem returned.

I was testing a few different Google Maps plugins and this one ended up being my favorite. It worked really well for a client’s site without any bugs that I found in other plugins.
My only suggestion would be to explain in the new shortcode save preview modal window that the shortcode being displayed will not work as its ID has not yet been created. The shortcode given in the saved shortcodes screen have the generated id and work without issue.

Hey everybody, I consider some of pictures used in this plugin are executable. i’m not being paranoid but i think this should be fixed.
use this command to find all executable files!
find . -type f -executable -print

I really want to use this plugin for a client. I have used it successfully on an offline installation, but on the live site it clashed with the theme.
My support post went unanswered for a week! That is sad, because I like the plugin. I hope they could sort their service out.

Greatest Map Plugin I’ve ever seen. And this for free – wowww!
There are still some improvements that could be done (e.g. custom markers on map, editable shortcodes), but it’s already the best plugin for google maps compared to others.

That’s exactly what I was looking for: a google map with precise markers you can easily change.
Thanks a lot!

Almost all of the gmap plugins on the WP repository are just trying to get you to upgrade to their premium version — which is all fair game.
The problem is that most of them stink, and don’t work.
This plugin actually works, looks good, and does the job — and it’s by far the simplest gmap plugin to incorporate.

Hi Alexander,
your plugin version 9.0.20 really deserve a 5 stars review.
Turely, user must read first the documentation page but then settings for shortcode generation are quite easy. Customizing the map is a real pleasure and the result is… great!
The widget you provide is nice too, I use it with the “real time traffic” function and my page looks pro.
At last, the result is absolutely reliable without any bug in the 3.8.1 WP version. I’ll be proud to tell it around.
Keep on the great job, we do appreciate !
With thanks, Theophil

Even in the middle of some big personal move the response time for a query was excellent – brilliant support for a brilliant plugin. And my reason for contacting was nothing to do with this plugin either!

This seems like a fantastic plugin. Lots of features, easy enough to use, comes with great icons and it’s easy to have multiple locations. HOWEVER, you can’t really edit saved maps. I would need it for a very large map, with about 50 or more locations, which will eventually need to be updated. The fact that this plugin doesn’t allow for editing (other than manually editing the shortcode yourself) is pretty much a deal breaker.
