Hello,
Been using TinyPNG for awhile but suddenly it has stopped working. When I try to save the API key I get the following message:
Error while connecting: Failed to connect to api.tinify.com port 443: Connection timed out (#7)
Any idea?
]]>Hi there:
This is a great plugin, and we use tinypng api extensively. *But* occasionally we have to have high resolution images available for infographics etc. Is there any way to mark certain uploads as *do not compress*. Or to make sure that the original file is still available for linking to?
I saw this was mentioned in a previous support request, but I’m unclear if it’s been implemented or not, or how to use it if it has.
]]>See, let me tell you exactly what I am doing.
I have been using your plugin + WP Offload S3.
So I upload an image, (with the default option of automatically compress all uploading image)
So my file is 900kb lets say, and automatically after uploading it get compressed to 337kb , and is reflected on s3 as well as locally.
But when i crop or change the dimension of the file, then the output of the cropped image is 788kb(let’s say) both locally and on s3 and now in the wp-admin/upload.php it is saying it is compressed (as it was compressed immediately after uploading) so i can’t compress it again.
(I think it takes the original file to change the dimension don’t know from where)
My website only uses the thumbnail/resized images, I’d like to maintain the integrity of the original uploaded file. Is it possible to make the plugin only shrink the other image sizes?
]]>I’m in media>library…..now what?
]]>i’m getting broken images, i’ve deleted plugin and installed latest version
]]>hi tiny png isnt working im using it on local host with wamp but im getting blank images
]]>Hi ??
Plugin is still generating 0 byte images.
I’m using plugin version 1.3.4 (downloaded today – 30th Dec) & WP version 4.1
]]>I have installed Compress to PNG, entered the API key and uploaded a test image to the library.
All its done is generate a bunch of 0 byte images and waste 15 of my 500 free API requests.
Running the 1.3 version of the plugin.
How do I fix this?
]]>TinyPNG also supports compressing JPG images now. Can this plugin be updated to compress PNG and JPG?
]]>Hi there,
With the latest version of Compress PNG for WP + WordPress 4.0 we’ve started seeing an issue over the past few days on multiple sites hosted by different companies where after uploading images they’ll become broken. Disabling Compress PNG solves this, which suggests the issue is with Compress PNG. Basically the images upload, and appear to compress, but they are then broken.
See here for example – https://squashtravel.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/MelandClient.png
The image file exists, but when downloaded to my computer via FTP and I try to open it I get “Windows photo viewer can’t open this picture because the file appears to be damaged, corrupted or is too large”
]]>Hi,
Very interested by the automatic PNG otpimization process this plugin offers.
However, i already use WP smush.it plugin for other file images, will there be any compatibility issues beetween these 2 plugins?
Would the PNG files be processed only by TinyPNG? or would smush.it get in the way? And if so, what would happen?
I saw you already mentioned that this plugin can be used alongside WP smush.it
( https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/use-this-plugin-alongside-imsanity ). I just want to make sure i understand well enough how these 2 plugins run when used alltogether.
Cheers
]]>Hello,
The plugins is great feature but I cannot make it work properly. When I upload the images and use Bulk compress png at media site its compress ratio is only about 0,98. When I download the png files from frontend of wordpress and compress it at tinypng.com it saves me more than 75%. What did I do wrong?
Screenshot
Since upgrading to WP 4.0 I get this message on all image uploads : An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later.
The image will upload and it looks like the plugin is still working on pngs though
Thanks for this great plugin
]]>is there a way to optimize the png images that are in nextgen galleries? The nextgen gallleries don’t show in the Media section, they are in a different folder.
Thanks for any advice
]]>The plugin does not have a valid header.
]]>Hi,
Would you let us know if it works with WP 3.9.1?
Thks.
]]>Is there any chance you’d add a bulk-compress option like WP Smush.it has? It would sure be helpful when you haven’t been running this plugin from the start.
]]>Just a heads up for folks if you notice all your images in “Media” appear broken.
And this odd OBadiD- text appears in the image URL.
It’s possibly your API key is missentered within Settings->Media
Freaked me out this morning until I figured out the issue, and entered the correct API key.
]]>Hello,
great tool, just one drawback: The original file as under media is compressed, but not the smaller ones (large, medium, thumb..). How can that be accomplished?
Marc
]]>I’d really like to use this alongside the Imsanity plugin. That way when my client uploads a large image, Imsanity would resize it to my limitations, then this plugin would send it to TinyPNG and minimize the PNG’s. However, if I turn on both at the same time, I get an error. I assume that’s because both are trying to work at approximately the same time. Is there any chance you’d look at that plugin and possibly make this one work alongside it? It seems like a great combination, since there’s no reason to apply TinyPNG when the image is just way larger than it needs to be in the first place.
]]>I’ve been using this to go through a site and shrink all the PNG files on the site. In total the site only has 107 images, not all of which are PNG. I didn’t even finish the ~90 PNG images, and now it’s telling me I’ve reached my TinyPNG free-level API limit of 500. How could this be, when I’ve only resized maybe 80 images in total?
Something isn’t right here. What’s going on?
]]>url to download is 404
]]>Getting 404 file not found when trying to download the plugin?
]]>Hello,
This may sound somewhat silly – but what is suppose to happen once a file is compressed (during upload or manually)?
Reason for asking: I tried this plugin with uploading a new image and use it as a background. However, after a reload of the page, the original, non-compressed image is transferred.
This was tried with different browsers.
Thanks – Will
