Hi All
I have been struggling to understand why so many messages lodged via Contact Form 7 are being flagged as spam.
The sites I manage are mostly configured with Contact Form 7 using the Recaptcha V3 Integration and Flamingo Database of messages. I also have tried using a 3rd party Recaptcha plugin with the same / similar result.
I am not clear which of these plugins is actually creating the issue, but it goes like this.
If I check in Flamingo I can see that messages are flagged as spam and the status says that the reason is for ‘Disallowed words (ssss) are used.’ but the only place that the letters ‘ssss’ exist in the message are not the message itself but in the Recaptcha ‘approval’ string.
Can anyone provider a pointer on how or where a fix can be applied.
Thanks in advance
Tony

Hi,
I cannot set-up Captcha as the Contact Form 7 Integration setup page cannot be found. It returns a 404.
I have done some time-consuming searching and cannot find an answer so I am turning to this forum. I have successfully setup and used this on another site without any issues. If anyone can offer a solution I will be very appreciative.
Thanks

I just installed Recaptcha v2 plugin for CF7 and changed the API keys. It shows up on the form, and the form sends, but the page no longer displays ‘Thanks, Your Message has Been Sent’.
So even though it works, it’s not clear to the user that anything has happened.
Anything else i need to change? Thanks
On a side note, I never had the shortcode [recaptcha] on my form until doing this plugin. Does that mean I never actually had recaptcha running?
hi guys,
it seems everyone has this issue and no one is able to find a real fix.
Plus, the plugin is sadly not updated/fixed, as I understand.
Anyone able to fix the
“There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later.”
validation error?
thanks
I have serval webs with contact form and recaptcha, all of them are updates.
Sudently , i have receiving spam , and I have seen that recaptcha is not working, cause it is′nt now …
Now that I have installed 5.1.1 and upgraded to v3 recaptcha, I am seeing a recaptcha box in the lower right corner of all pages. How do I remove it or have it only show on pages that have a form?
Problem solved!
Just install the plugin “wp rollback”
After installing go to plugin overview. you now find a rollback option below all the plugins. Rollback to previous version.
After this go to integration on the contact form and paste your keys again like you did in the beginning.
Open your contactform on the backend and save it again. Make sure you add the recaptha again ??
No go to your frond-end and refresh your page.
And your done!
Wait for next update with the fix.
No need te install any other plugins.
I installed reCAPTCHA (v3) and it doesn’t show up. Went to my google recaptcha account got my keys, put them in “integration” in CF7, nothing.
Installed v3 keys but my forms will not send anymore! I get the error.
“Your form is not sent, please try again later.”
Is this simply a kink that is not worked out?
In the settings of the plugin, I added my keys for Captcha. But when I open the settings of the module, there is not the “captcha” button, to add the tag. Why?
WP: 4.9.9
Contact Form 7: Version 5.1
Is this a bug with the latest Contact Form 7 update or with WP 4.9.9. It was working prior to updating contact form 7 today and on WP 4.9.8

Hi!
Is there a solution to load reCHAPCHA v3 banner only on pages with contact forms on it?
I tried to load Contact Form 7 js files only on contact page alike mentioned on this tutorial: https://contactform7.com/loading-javascript-and-stylesheet-only-when-it-is-necessary/. But it did not work, the reCHAPCHA banner loads on all pages.
Thank you,
Best regards.
Hiya
I’ve upgraded the Google recaptcha keys for my websites to version 3 and installed them in the ‘Contact Form’ – ‘Integration’ section. With the v2 keys, I never got spam from my contact forms. Now, the spam is starting to flow. I look after about 60 websites for myself and my clients. None of us will be happy if we get daily spam.
How can we tighten the security? And solve this problem?
Thanks!

Hi, why am I getting this error, any ideas? Thanks
Hi,
I installed recaptcha and both secret keys in Contact Form 7. It appears in my page only when I am logged in. It is not visible as soon as I disconnect.
Tested in Safari and Firefox.
Would you have a solution to solve this problem?
Thank you,
Best regards,
After an update, Askimet is letting a lot of spam through from our forms. Especially the home page email sign-up, which is in a sidebar widget using SiteOrigin’s text widget.
Activated CF7 ReCaptcha integration, and added [recaptcha size:compact] to the form in the widget (just above the submit button) as well as to two contact us forms.
The forms render with an extra input below the ReCaptcha block:

I’m guessing this is an interaction with SiteOrigin’s Page Builder — anybody have a similar issue?
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
I entered the correct ‘Site Key’and ‘Secret Key’ but I am getting the error message on recaptcha under the contact form 7 “ERROR for site owner: Invalid site key”

My recaptcha-form used to work just fine. But it doesn’t anymore. Anyone have any suggestions. I guess it doesn’t work anymore since the last update of wordpress.
The forms are able to send.
Does anyone else have the same issues?
My contact form is working and sending completed forms to my chosen email. Using apple mail, when i hit reply and send a reply back to the person, they never get it and I don’t get any bounce saying it hasn’t been sent. Any advice?
Has anyone tried to add an invisible recaptcha via Googles recaptcha onto a contact form 7 form?
If so how did you get it working?
I tried adding this into the CF7 Form fields tab content
Create a div with data-size=’invisible’.

submit
Call grecaptcha.execute from a javascript method.
grecaptcha.execute();
As usual, anything involving Google is both complicated and comntradictory. I found two different sets of instructions from Google on how to do this, one was simple – and doesn’t work.
The other is complex and I am unsure if it will integrate with CF7 or not.
If anyone has done this I would appreciate knowing how it was done?
Ta.
Once the [recapcha] wiget is inserted, the submit button stops being clickable. I’ve entered the correct details in the ‘Integration’ section and below is the code to my form:
Your Name (required)
[text* your-name]
Your Email (required)
[email* your-email]
Subject
[text your-subject]
Your Message
[textarea your-message]
[recaptcha]
[submit]

Hi!
Since some days I experience problems with my contact form. Site users told me they cannot submit the form anymore because it “cannot sent mail… please try again later..”. So I tried it myself and also failed submitting my form.
I just removed the recaptcha tag and the form submission worked again. I already googled this issue but didn’t find anything useful. I already checked my “From” field (what also seems to cause the error), but it’s ok!
Anyone else experiences the same issue?
Stephan
reCaptcha works in Contact Form 7, however, it is not resetting, ie, the checkbox does not come back blank; it remains checked.
Resets on F5.
Was working a couple of weeks ago.
I’m in learning curve on Contact Form 7, generally.
Hello, the reCAPTCHA form doesn’t seem to show within Internet Explorer or Edge. When I check the console I get the following error:
ReCAPTCHA couldn’t find user-provided function: recaptureCallback
I assume the scripts required to run reCAPTCHA are loading in the wrong order. I’m not sure what the solution might be. Some way to ensure the file with the recaptureCallback function is ready before whatever calls it?
I no longer see author or details links of the plugin and WordFence indicates it was removed from www.ads-software.com due to unpatched security vulnerabilities. Hope you’re not abandoning this plugin. Please share an update.
