Would be nice if this plugin had the readme updated so as to stop the “Abandoned Plugin” warnings that many security tools present in relation to this plugin.

Hi,
Silly question, but is it safe to deactivate and remove plugin after converting?
Thank you,
]]>Thank you for the plugin. I am trying to convert the products to posts. Although it says, posts converted, nothing is converted. Please help.
]]>Does it work?
]]>I did not understand how how to use.
I want the convert some of my page to one post category and convert other pages to other category
This plugin is awesome, it’s just saved my bacon on a project – thanks heaps!
I have another project with about 11,000 records to migrate.
Would it be needed to do this in batches for records this large? Any recommendations on this?
I’ll be testing it on a dev database first, I just wanted to check your feedback.
Hosting wise I’m on a VPS with Siteground.
Cheers!
]]>All the posts were transferred – awesome – but the new taxonomies weren’t assigned. Could be something on my end, but everything seems pretty standard fair.
]]>Hi there.
I’m using the Striking Theme (from developer kaptinlin). I LOVE the post convert tool, however, when I perform a quick-edit on a Slider Item (looping Nivo Slider images), it automatically changes the type from “Slider Item” to “Post” because it does not have a “Slider Item” option or a “No Change” option.
Currently in the post-type drop-down menu, the options are: Post, Page, Media and Portfolio Item. Is it possible to add a “No change” option for themes like Striking which have additional post-types?
Thanks!! This would be an awesome addition!

]]>Converting from a custom post type, back to post post type works fine, but this does not put the post in the category i’m choosing. I’m willing to fix this if you’d put the code in a public place to contribute to such as Github.
]]>I have about 300 blog posts under the category of Knowledgebase and their are a few dozen subcategories as well. I have created a new custom post type called Knowledgebase and I would like to make sure I copy over the categories when the posts get converted. Is this possible? If so, how?
]]>Thank you for implementing this handy tool.
I’m using it to convert posts with category=X into posts with post_type=X. In this case, it would be nice to remove the category association during the process since the new post type doesn’t support categories.
What happens instead is the category association remains in the database but is invisible to the admin UI since my post type doesn’t support categories.
]]>Hello,
I am attempting to create six unique sidebars for six posts, all of which are in draft form. When I search for the posts in the search box for your plugin they don’t appear but if I search for published posts I can find them.
Is the plugin incapable of searching for unpublished posts?
I need to be able to make ready the sidebars before publishing the posts and not the other way around.
Thanks
]]>I am working on rebuilding a site for a client that has just over 900 pages that use various templates. I am using custom post types and would like to bulk change all pages that use a specific template such as Staff to the new custom post type Staff.
Does that seem reasonable to add into the next version?
Thanks
]]>I love this plugin and it works great except for one issue. In the conversion screen area, every custom post type I created is included except one.
I am not sure why this would be because they are all formatted the same way in my functions.php file. I thought maybe there is a max amount of custom post types included in the dropdown, but then I deleted the others and tried to find it again and it still didn’t show up. Please help! Thank you!
]]>Hi there,
I am trying to convert some of my existing posts into projects in the Divi theme, but the posts are not converting at all.
Any suggestions or tips?

]]>Does Yoast SEO data transfer when using Convert Post Types?
]]>Hey @sillybean!
I use your plugin in my project.
when I convert pages to post, the new posts can set category or categories I chose.
my setting is:
old_post_type: page
new_post_type: post
convert_cat: -1
page_parent: 4267
post_category[]: 21
It return WP_Error. So I edit your file convert-post-types.php in line 167:
— wp_set_post_terms( $post->ID, $_POST[‘post_category’], ‘post_category’, false );
++ wp_set_post_categories( $post->ID, $_POST[‘post_category’], false );
result is ok.
Do you have a list of themes and plugins your plugin is not compatible with?
]]>Hi there!
Trying to change themes on a site, turns out it uses “Portfolios” instead of Posts. So all the “posts” are actually “Portfolio” custom post type, along with corresponding Portfolio Category for each one. UGH!!!!!
Is it possible to convert these Portfolio post type items to Post – without losing their category?
The category is actually Portfolio Category since that’s the taxonomy for this post type…
How could I convert those posts and corresponding categories with this plugin, without losing the category association?
Thanks!!
Dan
Hello,
I used your plug-in to convert pages to custom post types, using the limit to children of parent option. With that, parent relationships to pages were carried over. How do I fix/remove that? I have tried via the DB setting page_parent to 0 via wp_posts table but no luck… thanks in advance.
]]>Unless you add the currently assigned tags to the field in the CPT admin page (possibly other taxonomies too) the post looses its tags when converted.
]]>I would like to convert my post type ‘movies’ to ‘posts’ only where the custom post type ‘movies’ has the category ‘director’. The problem is the only categories showing in “Limit posts to category…” are the categories from the standard ‘post’ type, not custom type ‘movies’. Is there a way to alter the plugin to pull categories from custom post types into the “Limit posts to category…” dropdown?
]]>Hello,
I am using this plugin to convert specific category post into pages but still these posts are not converted into pages.
Please help!
]]>Hi,
After making a conversion from posts to custom_post
I see that the posts were successfully converted (in this example I converted 5 posts from post category “Test” to custom_post category “test”)
When I go and look inside the posts list I can see that there are zero posts (which is good).
I then view the custom _posts list and can see that there are 5 custom_posts that now exist here (which is good).
However when i go to the category page for the posts, I can see a linkable number 5 next to the “test” category still.
When I click that linkable number 5 it takes me to the posts list for that (now converted) category and shows zero posts as above.
So how do we clean up the category view that still shows our old number of posts as a linkable number?
Cheers!
]]>Hey,
I have a question. It looks like this is an awesome plugin and I really like to make it useful on my website, but I want to know, if I wont lose my SEO for page when I convert the type?
Thanks in advance,
Tom
I tried this plugin for Woocommerce, my theme was an eCommerce inbuilt theme so i tried to get the Posts (which actually were products) to Woo using Convert Post Types. The conversion was smooth as possible and everything got converted. BUT, Woo is not recognizing the converted ones as products, not showing in categories etc. (though the products are showing up in Products lists).
