The plugin does what it says. It allows you to chose text to be copied in a variety of scenarios and for many use cases.
However,.. I do not condone the design choises being made.
I had to remove the plugin from all client websites.
That being said, the support team seems open to feedback for improvement & recognized these issues. So I might give it some time and come back in the future.

I have an issue with the plugin and posted on its support forum 4 months ago, but still no answer.. ??
It’s a shame that the author does not have the time to support its creation, because the plugin itself is super useful and I’ve been using it for years on several websites.. I’m forced to find an alternative that is updated more frequently and has better support.

Very basic WordPress install, common host, thorough read of documentation.
We couldn’t get this to operate or create anything but confusion, but that’s not a criticism of the author.
It just didn’t work for us, as we found the documentation totally undercooked and the encouragement to upgrade to premium more important to the author than a functional plugin.
We messed with it for a half hour, accomplished nothing and deleted it.

Although at first seems a bit confusing, it does the job well.
Also the author seems very eager to help and that’s important.
I wish they would implement also a version without Freemius, for those of us who prefers performance and more control over comfort.

It’s best of its kind, very flexible and easy to use. The only con is that it loads on every single page, not just when needed. As a result, you have to use one more plugin to prevent that if you want to a well optimized site.

It is recommended to change the function shortcode_markup() in class-copy-the-code-shortcode.php
text & copied-text becomes a localized string to allow users to customize the default translation in the [copy] shortcode
‘text’ => __(‘Copy’,’copy-the-code’),
‘copied-text’ => __(‘Copied!’,’copy-the-code’),
In addition, it is also recommended to provide an interface for users to customize the style of [copy] (do not let for users to CSS to process)

Great little plugin.
Works in WPBakery too, unlike a couple of competitors I’ve tested today.
An option to display the ‘Copy’ button in different locations would be nice (e.g. below the code box).
Update Oct 2022: had an issue when using this to copy HTML code. To display HTML code on page you have to escape the < and > characters, so the ‘Copy’ button would copy the escaped code. I emailed Mahesh and he replied, a mere 90 minutes later (!!!) with an updated version of the plugin which now handles escaped HTML code perfectly. I’d give more than 5 stars if I could.

A two-year issue still plagues this plugin. It still tacks on ‘COPY’ text at the end of the copied text…making it a bit useless if the copied text really isn’t the copied text but a flawed version of it.
