Hi. I’ve not changed any of my Counterize settings recently but over the last 48 hours have had over 300 counterize reports instead of my usual 1 per week! I have tried deactivating the plug in and turning off the report function from the dashboard but this does not stop these reports. I have not uninstalled yet – does any one have any advice ?! I think Gabriel may be on holiday.
]]>Dear Counterize users,
As I said previously, I am taking over the development of Counterize as Steffen Forkmann has no plan to update his plugin himself. I created a fork simply named “Counterize” (without the “II”).
I updated the version 2.14.1 to version 3.0.1 to make the current users aware that a fork has been created. This should be the last update for Counterize II from me.
Currently, Counterize II and Counterize share a common code and are both at version 3.0.1, so there’s no urge to migrate to Counterize, although I highly recommend it for the future updates.
For further updates and enhancements, please install the Counterize plugin available at this address: https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/counterize/
Your data will not be deleted if you migrate to the new plugin, as it uses the same table names. Simply deactivate Counterize II, upload the Counterize files and activate it in your administration area. That should be all for the migration.
Thank you for your interest in Counterize!
Gabriel Hautclcoq.

]]>Hi all,
I’m doing a fork of Counterize II to continue its development. I will call it Counterize III for now but I may change the name later to differentiate the 2 products, as I am not the original author. I will also try to commit a one-time update for Counterize II with the changes I made for Counterize III so that version II users can benefit of the changes. But that will require patience as I have to write an upgrade script. After that, the two products will begin to differ.
Changes for the initial release will include:
I will try to make an upgrade script so that version II users can keep their statistics if they want to move to version III.
With many thanks to Steffen Forkmann for letting me continue the development.
Best regards,
Gabriel Hautclocq

]]>Just installed CounterizeII under WordPress 3.0.1. It registered some old entries from last year using Counterize II. I removed those. It registered a few ip addresses again, but it does not show OS, browser nor list last entries. How come? Do I need to wait for a day or so? Or did I “upgrade” the wrong way?
