Is it possible to style the sidebar related post output like the after-post related posts using the UI admin pages?
If not, could you please suggest some css rules that will accomplish this?

]]>This is a cpt that use a template made with elementor.
On the last section, after Check Our London Expert Advice it should appear cpt posts under the title.
It has been working perfectly for months and now it disappeared.
The section Popular Hotel Rooms In London works with the plugin too and as you can see it’s displaying fine.
Both section are related with other cpts based on custom taxonomy, region (london, brussels, etc) and category (meeting, conference, etc)
Another weird detail is that we have a similar page working with the same sections but in different positions ad it’s giving probems too. Some pages have both sections working, but not perfectly (eg. not showing the right number of post I set) or just one of he sections work.
Thanks in advance

]]>Hi!
I′ve been trying several plugins to relate post, and yours seems like the right fit.
I want to show related listings (a custom post type) in landing pages (another custom post type). They’re connect by pods, sharing the same taxonomy.
For some reason, this plugin doesn′t see the share custom taxonomies, to show the right listings.
I′ve selected Match all taxonomy terms and only category and It doesn’t seem to work.
Thanks in advance!
]]>Thank you for a great plugin.
Wonder what would need to make the plugin to pull only real tags. I have a site with many previous posts which had tags all removed. All previous posts are related because they all have a blank (null) tag. Related posts become irrelevant. Hope to be able to specify tags must be real words.
Thanks again.
]]>Dear Ajay,
I pulled back two posts so that they are not published anymore.
(For example see page given above, the button “Die positive Kraft….”)
Why are those websites still displayed in CRP and how can I prevent that (this produces 404 errors), Google moans and above all the user is annoyed not to find the post…
Thanks for help!
Ulf
PS: I know, I could manually exclude them, but it should not be possible, anyway ??
]]>Hi there,
The Plugin doesn’t shows the options to Fetch related posts only from ‘Tags’.
It only shows ‘Video Tags’ ‘Video Category’ & ‘Formats’
Furthermore, I am using the plugin to show related image galleries. Galleries show as many related image galleries as I set it to show, other galleries show only 5, 3 or sometimes even 0 related image galleries.
All image galleries are created with Envira Gallery Plugin & just with a normal shortcode. I don’t see any differences between the albums, still some show many related albums, others show none.

]]>Hi Ajay
Loving this plugin and have been using it now for around a year. Thanks for developing it.
Just one question (that I asked ages ago, but now can’t find it on this support forum). Is it possible to REVERSE the order in which related posts – by date – are displayed. At the moment I have them in date order, but they show the OLDEST at the TOP. Ideally, I’d like the NEWEST to be at the top (ie in descending data order).
Thanks
Steve
]]>I run an online community newspaper with content organised into 33 categories. I would like the the plugin to show content from just one single category at the bottom of all single posts. I have downloaded both the Related Posts and the Related Posts by Categories and Tags add-on plugins. Do you have a field where I can select the specific category I want to show in the widget? I can only find the Exclude Category field, but this doesn’t seem to have the effect I want: I have selected the 32 Categories that I want to exclude leaving the one that I want to show, but now it isn’t showing any content at all even though I know I have three posts assigned to that category. Thank you for your help.
]]>Hi!
Thanks for a great plugin.
The related posts are working exclusively off the tags and that is great! However, if a post doesn’t have a tag it shows other related posts.
How can I stop it from showing related posts if there is no matching tagged post found?
]]>Hello,
Thank a lot for developing this awesome plugin.
I have activated tags for pages in my wp installation.
I’m trying to get this plugin to show related items from the same category, based on tags only (if they’ve a tag in common) but I can’t get it to work.
Basically nothing appears, even though I specified
Show when no posts are found: Display custom text.
I have the following in my settings:
fetch related posts only from :Tags
and Disable contextual matching is checked.
Could you please tell if I’m doing anything wrong?
Thanks in advance.

Hi-
I apologize if this was discussed in different post, but I am struggling finding one. I tried to activate the CRP plugin on my WP-Engine live site and am getting a Fatal Error (Fatal error: Call to undefined function crp_read_options() in /nas/content/live/xxxxx/wp-content/plugins/crp-taxonomy/includes/activation.php on line 51). The weird thing is that I have it working on my staging site, with basically the same content there.
Can you offer some suggestions on getting this to work?
Thanks!

Hello.
Last few days I`d been testing Contextual Related Post Plugins. I need a bit more testing but so far so good. I′ll donate after a month of testing if everything keeps going really well. I wonder if the Category filter in the Contextual Related Post Taxonomy Tool plugin support category filter. Thanks a lot in advance and cogratulations to the developer for such a good job.
]]>Just a heads up if you find issues when more than one main category is selected for article: The main query return with no results.
obviously categories should be used as they are intended, but some content producers ( including my clients ) use categories as if they were tags.
I think this can be resolved with a fall back to query based on the first category or something.
Thanks!
I am unable to get this to function the way I expect. I have set “Fetch related posts only from:” to “Same tags” and Disabled contextual matching in the List tuning options. I have set it to display Blank Output when there are no posts, but every post is showing results. How can I get this to only display results when the tags match, and to display nothing when there are no matching Tags?
Thank you.
Hi. I love the way you have extended CRP. Great. My theme (Ultimatum Theme) only works with CRP as a widget, and with it switched off for all post types in ‘Automatically add related posts to:’ setting. The theme honors all the settings made in the widget, but not those made in the settings page. Is there any way to add your extra settings to the CRP widget?
]]>Right after upgrading your main plugin I cannot activate this plugin at all (activation triggers a fatal error)
]]>The contextual Related Posts works… but it appears your add-on is not working for me. I am using a custom post type and I am trying to fetch related posts by the same taxonomy.
It seems no matter what I select from “Fetch related posts only from:” it doesn’t work. It continues to supply options for my post type that are outside the taxonomy.
I’ve also tried turning on and off contextual matching and contextual matching for only custom post types… but to no effect.
Is this suppose to work with custom post types and taxonomies? If so, perhaps I am doing something wrong?

Hi,
In my template (based on Salient) I have a custom post type, called Portfolio.
To the post type custom categories are added.
register_taxonomy("project-type",
array("portfolio"),
array("hierarchical" => true,
'labels' => $category_labels,
'show_ui' => true,
'query_var' => true,
'rewrite' => array( 'slug' => 'recipe_categories' )
));
I need the Recipe only to show the related from the same category it is in. Currently have CRP and CRP Taxonomy activated, and no luck.
I also tried editing the crp-taxonomy.php file, line 85:
$taxonomies[] = 'recipe-type';
But still the CRP shows the related from any category.
Any suggestions on the subject?
A working sample can be seen here:

Hi Ajay
Many thanks for your CRP plugin, so great!
Quick question on this one — I’m looking to use Tags only to INCLUDE posts in CRP; as I understand it, this taxonomy plugin only “limits” the results by tag or category, right?
Is there any way to use tags as well as (or instead of) just Titles for related posts?
(As background, my blog is photography related, so rarely is there post content, and the titles often aren’t related meaning I rely on tags as a good indicator of how content is grouped).
Cheers!
]]>Hello,
first of all: thank you for this great addon to the CRP-plugin. It really boosts the displayed related posts. Afer a few days of testing, I have a few suggestions how to make the CRP-plugin and this addon even better.
1) Add a weight to the ranking factors
What is a related post? This might differ from blog to blog. Someone uses creative titles, so the content might be more important to compare. Another one has a fine system of categories or tags, so paying more attention to them might bring better related results as only content and title. It would be great to give the different ranking and relation factors (title, content, tags, category) a weight. E.g. importance of tags and categories to compare is 70%, content 20% and title only 10%.
2) Newer posts first
CRP is great to look for and bring up older related posts. But sometimes newer post might be more relevant than older ones. There is an option to cut of older posts completely, but it would be great, if the age of a post is also a relevance criteria.
3) Include posts, even if they’re old
There is the possibility to exclude special posts by id so they won’t appear in the related lists. It would be great, if there is also a list of posts, which should be included, even if they are older and would not be listed due to the entered age-limit. Maybe e.g. you don’t want post to appear in the lists, that are older than 5 years. But maybe there is a 6 year old posts, which is still great and should appear in the CRP-lists.
What do you thing about this suggestions? I have no idea, if they are easy to implement into the CRP-plugin and this addon, but I think, they would make the plugin(s) even better.
