Hi,
first of all, great plugin, I love it so much, because I can obey law without exposing my personal data to crawlers.
I like to work on my website on localhost and update all files to my host in one take. Since I work on my website alone, this is no problem when it comes to conflicts. All files and the database in my host are replaced when I publish my website.
There is no issue with the domain name either, since I prefer to modify my hosts file to work locally. So, in theory everything is the same. The only thing that changes is the apache that is running my website and the IP of the host server.
For some reason my settings are not applied when I publish my website to my remote host only on this plugin. Every plugin works, but this plugin seems to have issues by loading the font. However my settings are not lost and when I re-save the plugin settings (I don’t even need to reset anything), it will fix the font again.
Here is how it looks after publishing my website: https://ibb.co/QM9Ms7V
Here is how it should look: https://ibb.co/wJFncGC
Here is how my configuration looks: https://ibb.co/zs7gPMy
After inspecting the FTP, it seems the plugins cache files are replaced by those ugly ones when loading the first time.
Can you give me an explanation when this plugin would re-create fallback cache files in that scenario? I definitely upload the cache files of this plugin from localhost, too.
The worst part is the fallback font is ASCII only, ruining any umlauts. My publishing pipeline is silent, I don’t like to be forced to post-config anything after publishing.
Hopefully you can give me some insights.
Best regards,
Martin Braun
]]>Hello.
The plugin works but the font it uses to create the images is ugly. Is there a way to use a different font?
Thank you
The plugin doesn’t protect emails. Email addresses still can be found in the page source
]]>Hi Andi,
it’s a really nice, good working and mature plugin, thanks a lot!
There’s one small Nice-to-have: the possibility of two different colors for (linkable) email-adresses and non-linkable content, e.g. phone numbers. By now I use my sites link color for email adresses and do not protect phone numbers, because they would look like links.
I’ve updated WP to 4.7.1 and Cryptex to V6 just right now. Now I discovered that the cryptexed email is not displayed in Chrome (latest V55, Windows PC as well as in the Android Chrome App). The click “into the void” works fine. It is just as if the text color of the rendered image were white on white background. FF works fine.
I cannot confirm that it actually worked with chrome before and hence doesn’t have anything to do with the updates mentioned above at all.
Please advice. To see it, please visit suchhunde-bodensee (dot) de (slash) kontakt and have a look on the right sidebar.
Thank you in advance!!
]]>Hi,
I believe I’m correct in thinking that your plugin only works for page content, not in widgets?
Most of my email addresses and phone numbers are in a page which uses the Team Members plugin to display the information. Will cryptex work on content within this plugin, and if not is it possible to easily add some code somewhere to allow this?
Thanks,

Hi,
I was thinking of using an encryption plugin such as Email Encoder Bundle – Protect Email Address. However I noticed cryptex and was wondering whether there is an advantage of using this method of creating images rather than the usual JS encryption method?
Thanks,

If i follow your instructions and place ‘’ in the textbox of e-mail.
It doesn’t work properly such as you could see here: https://parsival.be/event/als-je-heel-erg-veel-verliefd-bent/
]]>OK, the email short code is clear because you’ve actually said what it is, however, I cannot find a reference for what the short code is for obfuscating a telephone number, address or other???

Is it possible to have local variations of the font style chosen in the Settings? For example, in some pages the font would be italics; in others, plain text. Or ten point in one place and 12 point in another. That would allow greater flexibility in page design across the site.
]]>Thank you for making this plugin possible.
I have autodetection set to ON for e-mails. When an email has two dots in the domain, the plugin only crypts the email address partially.

is broken
Any pointers to get phone numbers or custom fields crypted?
]]>Hi,
I think I used this plugin before and was able to do this but the option does not seem to be there, can I replace an email address with custom text?
]]>Hi,
First off, thanks for making such a great plugin. However, I do have one issue that seems to be problematic that I hope you have a solution for. The plugin appears to work great on actual posts / pages; however, it shows whatever shortcode you use in post previews and leaves the email in plaintext [shortcode][/shortcode].
Am I missing something here?
Thanks again!
]]>Can I have an example of how to wrap <?php echo get_post_meta($post_id = XX, 'email', true); ?>
with Cryptex?
How can i use cryptex in my template (not in posts)? What is the function to crypt text?
Thank you
Well the title says it all!
However, to make it a bit clearer, this is what happens.
I have the plugin installed (automatically) on 000webhost.com.
When I add the shortcode like [cryptex][/cryptex] to a page, the result is that the page’s content is blank. While the headers and other elements display as expected.
I also have another WordPress Site on eProhost.com that uses Cryptex successfully, but it uses a different theme. So, at the moment I suspect the problem is the Theme’s incompatibility with the plugin… I have more inquiries to make before that can be established.
Hopefully, this will help.
Thanks
Wayne
I got this error message after activating:
“The plugin generated 356 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin.”
Anyone any idea on how to solve this?
Thanks!
