Using the icon16
class makes the clickable area of each icon overlap the icon above it.
1. Remove the icon16
class from each icon.
2. Add styles without floating: `
.ws_icon_option { display: inline-block; margin: 0 2px 2px; }
`
3. Change the color (you could add the howto
class to the “ws_core_icons_tab” container for a medium-dark gray, or you could set your own color in the .ws_icon_option
styles).
Other recommendations:
1. To stop some PHP warnings, remove screen_icon('edit-pages');
2. Make the loading image reference relative: src="./images/loading.gif"
Hi, hope you can help.
ive created a custom dashboard for shop managers.
However I notice when I activate your plugin, my original admin dashboard stretches.
Any thoughts on this?
Warmest regards
Hello,
I thought I might sahe this little hack.
I was looking to put a Logout link on the dashboard.
The problem was that your code was forcing : /wp-admin/
So I ended up taking it out:
$admin_url = site_url(); //$admin_url = site_url()."/wp-admin/";
…and adding it back into the Dashboard Widget Links : /wp-admin/profile.php
This then means I can also use : /wp-login.php?action=logout
I hope you don’t mind… maybe a little tick box or a test could be integrated in a future release.
By the way I love this plugin.
Hi,
Great plugin and better then the ones I have encountered. The only problem I am now having is that the plugin version 1.3.1 is not tested with the latest WordPress edition.
I now encounter some problems with the plugin like the order of the rows can’t be changed anymore.
I would like that to be fixed. It’s a very handy and great plugin, so please update the plugin for the community ??
Thanks,
Olivier
This plugin seems to be hit or miss on whether or not it will work with Font Awesome Icons–and usually more often it’s a miss. For example, I want to use an icon of a calendar on my dashboard. I tried far fa-calendar-plus, fas fa-calendar-plus, fas fa-calendar-alt, far fa-calendar-alt, and fas fa-calendar-day. I finally got fas fa-calendar to work.
Either the plugin is not working correctly and will not load a large number of icons from Font Awesome, or the instructions are misleading in letting me believe that I can choose whatever free icons I want from the site and they will work.

Hello,
I like the plugin, but I dislike that it deactivates the possibility to move the position of the dashboard widgets by hand. Thats why I deactivated it and use a different plugin now. Would be great if that would be possible again.
After adding SSL to the site I get rubbish on different admin pages and on the frontpage of certain plugins.
When I deactivate the plugins this text doesn’t show, but I really do want to use them…..

Hi, I’ve created a list of 165 widgets in the Custom Dashboard Widgets panel and it’s stuck and I can not make any more. Are there any limits to the number of widgets or is it a bug?
You can help me, thank you.
Love the plugin. Would be happy to donate if you could add an export import option for settings. Then it could be used on other client sites without lengthy setup each time.
Hello,
I have been using this plugin for a few months now and have recently come across an error with using the Custom Dashboard Widgets plugin. It appears that this plugin is loading AJAX functions into all pages of my site, rather than just the plugin applicable pages, and causing issues with other plugins. I have gone through the steps of deactivating all of my plugins until finding the one causing the issue and it came down to this plugin. Do you have a fix for this issue so I can continue to use this plugin?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Is it possible to add one title in the main box above all of the links? My goal is to easily point out that this section of the dashboard is the Quick Links section.

Hi,
First, I am really happy with this plugin. It’s awesome. I would like to make one single modification: when the user clicks on a dashboard icon, to open the page in a new tab by default, like target=”_blank”.
Could you indicate to me which line of code shall I change to achieve this result?
Hi!
In your dw_style.css:
@import url(//www.fontstatic.com/f=droid-naskh,jooza,flat-jooza,nawar,shekari,);
But Fontstatic servers is not avaliable and this slows down the loading of the entire page.
On the first 25 seconds I can only see the gray screen, then the browser understands that the server is unavailable and loads the rest of the content.
Maybe better run this code as javascript?

or so
<link rel=”stylesheet” href=”…/dw_style.css” media=”none” onload=”if(media!=’all’)media=’all'”>
I tried adding my own CSS (Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS) to style the dashboard buttons, is it possible?

Hi,
Love the plugin.
My question is regarding support for multi user.
Is there a way to set the menus for new sites as a default?
I would like my new site users to have a pre-set configuration.
thank you
Hi there,
Great plugin! However, is it possible to add the option to open a new tab when specific dashboard buttons are pressed? I’m hoping to be able to have internal links open in the same tab, but external links open in a new tab.
Thanks!

Hi there,
I’m satisfied with your plugin, simple and powerfull. However, it automatically hide all the tabs we have in the dashboard… and the problem is that some plugin only use this way to display their info.
For example, https://fr.www.ads-software.com/plugins/error-log-monitor/ : this addon only show the information in the dashboard (and a custom log file ofc). He has no menu to display the information. And so, the problem is that I have to make a choice between your plugin and this one.
You should just give us a way to have 25% of the available screen to put the traditional wordpress dashboard tabs. 75% for your plugin, 25% for the standard ones.
Regards.
