Hello,
I am trying to have a ‘projects’ category in the nav menu, with a dropdown which is created automaticly from my ‘campains’ custom post type. I used the CPT auto menu plugin, but when I add a new campain, it shows at the bottom of the list and I need it at the top, the newest at the top.
How can I do that?
Or else, how can I have a campain which is ‘the current campain’ and highlight it in the menu?
Thanks for your help!!
I think I’m misunderstanding this plugin. It’s so close to doing what I need it to do.
I created a menu called Attorney.
I have a CPT called Attorney Pages.
I want to automatically add each new Attorney Page as a top-level to the Attorney menu
]]>Could I tweak this to be able to use it with normal post-type (default)?
]]>I need to ad this to a submenu of a submenu item?
How to?
is it possible to use one cpt in 2 or more menus? like use cpt movies on main menu and mobile menu as my website site has 2 menus
]]>Settings won’t save when a CPTs is assigned to a Menu Item that contains an ampersand.
We make the change, save changes, and the change doesn’t “take” – the selector still says “Select Menu Item”.
If we remove the ampersand from the Menu Item, then we are able to assign the CPT to it.
]]>The plugin seems to work only when adding a new post.
it should also existing posts or at least add them when newly saved. any chance to implement this?
otherwise it’s a cool functionality that is really useful to have one less maintenance step.
Thx

Hello,
your plugin is great.
But is has some problems.
First: I have CPTs created by plugins. There are not selectable in the settings.
Second: It would be awesome to organize created post type items to sub menus (from custom taxonomies) assigned to the posts

]]>Hello
great plugin!
It works like perfect on this site for guided tours I am building.
The tours are stored in a CPT that auto-adds to the menu item ‘Groepswandelingen’
(its all in dutch)
However, I am also using Polylang to get multiple languages
This requires me to have a menu for each language.
I would still like to auto-add my CPT to the translated menus as well.
Can I select multiple menu? instead of just one per CPT? That would totally solve my problem.
Regards
Janco

]]>Hi
I have a new problem! I have got the custom post types appearing automatically in the submenu of parent ‘products’ but for some reason, some of the products are duplicated in the list. They are not duplicated in the admin area of the site. Can you advise on how to clear these duplicate entries? I have tried putting all to draft and re-publishing, and even deleting the posts that have duplicated (which made them disappear from the menu) but then when I reinstated them they came back as multiple entries again!
Thanks for any help.
]]>I have set up the plugin and selected the custom post types that should go on the CPT Auto Menu, but when I go to menu settings and select the menu to add them to, I am not being shown any menu items. Can you help me solve this?
]]>Hello, your plugin works great — thanks! I’m wondering if it would be possible to set the menu link to something other than the post’s permalink.
So instead of https://www.website.com/cpt/slug, it would be https://www.website.com/somepage/#slug
Of course, I’d like to be able to do this without directly editing the plugin code, so I can continue to get updates.
Thanks in advance!
]]>I have a primary menu, but also a comprehensive footer menu. I want all the posts in my Custom Post Type to auto-populate in both menus, but I don’t see any way to do that. Am I missing something?
]]>Hi,
thanks for this plugin!
I would like to manage settings in functions.php
1- choose the post type
2- choose the menu to add auto.
How can I do this ?
Thank you
]]>As title says, nothing happens when the plugin is set up.
I have a custom post type of schools, and want to display all of those schools underneath the schools menu item.
Active plugin -> Select schools post type -> select main menu -> select schools menu item
Reload and go to the front end and nothing has changed. No drop down added at all.
]]>Hello… I am using CPT UI and CPT Auto Menu plugins. I run into a problem like below.
Steps:
1) create a new CPT with CPT UI, say Newsletters
2) create a page called Newsletters
3) assign page Newsletters as a menu item to an existing menu (ie. appearance > menu)
4) use CPT Auto Menu to assign CPT Newsletters (ie. created in step 1) to page Newsletters
I can add the new Newsletters via wp-admin but then I found there are some newly added Newsletters automatically added to the Newsletters menu item (ie. created in step 3) as sub-menu.
If I add more newsletters, there will be many sub-menu items added.
I want to prevent the sub-menus added under new CPT.
Can anyone help please? Many thanks!
]]>Hey – nice plugin. Surprising how complicated a task this is.
Just wanted to put in my +1 for “Is it possible for the parent menu item to be a few levels deep?”. I tried some simple modifications to your code, but as you said in the other thread – got unexpected results.
I would be happy to help out if you want to work on the feature together.

Might be easy at using this function with a checkbox in the menu setting area – https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Function_Reference/wp_is_mobile
thanks for the help!

]]>Hi,
It seems this plugin only adds new custom posts to the menu.
E.g. I have an “Offices” custom post type with some posts on it. When I use the plugin to link that custom post type to a top level menu item (custom link with no URL), those existing posts of type “Offices” are not shown on the submenu. Only new posts I create under that custom post type are displayed. Is this intentional? Any trick to show existing posts? If not, can you add support for existing posts?
Thanks!

]]>Ken, this plugin is exactly what I’m looking for, but it isn’t working. I’ve assigned the custom type to the menu and parent item, and nothing changes in the menu. Is there a max number of items it will display til it doesn’t work at all? This particular custom post type has over 30 posts.
I’m not seeing any JS errors on the front end, either.

I have a menu I need to auto create from a CPT but it is three levels deep and in your UI there seems to be the option of choosing a menu parent one level deep only.

]]>Hello!
The site is multilanguage, with two languages: catalan and spanish.
I’ve followed indicated installation steps, and attached one CPT to catalan menu (by now all data is only in catalan).
The issue is that catalan shows no child.
I’ve created one entry of CPT in spanish and voilà! spanish child appears on the menu, altough the menu related to the CPT (through CPT setup) is the catalan one.
The point is that ‘Custom Post Type Auto Menu’ is not language ready, as it does not offer the language choice option.
Could you, at least, let me know how to achieve that?
Thanks in advance,
Jordi

]]>In version 1.1.3 I was able to select a menu and leave the option for Parent Menu Item ’empty’ (leave it at “Select Menu Item”). This way a new CPT was added to my selected menu. I don’t want it to be added to a specific menu item.
Now in version 1.1.4 when I select a menu, a parent menu item gets auto-selected. I can’t leave it empty anymore. The result is that a new CPT turns into a subpage, which I don’t want.
Is there a solution for this, or am I overlooking something?
Thanks, Peter
