Work very well

The developer of my theme sent me to this plugin because he hasn’t features that would allow me to choose a template for custom post types.
I was skeptical this plugin would work, but it does. Very happy with it

This plugin works great as intended. Using this with Custom Post Type created with Types plugin from Toolset (Wp-Types) and X Theme. I was banging my head trying to find easy way to assign existing X Theme template to the new custom post type. This one solved it. Many thanks!
Maybe just mention in the documentation that this has to be activated for a specific post type under Settings Menu.

This is exactly what I was looking for. Simple and effective.
Works perfect with Custom Post Types (managed through WP-Types Toolset), and displaying my page templates from Theme X.
Thanks a lot!!!

This plugin does do as it says. However, it causes custom post type pages to be spoofed as real pages. This means they now return true to is_page() calls, while they are not pages and this can cause problems. We have had trouble with it messing up the WPML plugin and a some custom plugins that use is_page().
I am not saying not to use this plugin, just be warned the danger.

Hi-
Plugin works great! Could you please update it though so that you no longer have the “2 year since last update” warning message? Some people find that scary ??

Thanks Hiroaki for this plugin.

Thanks for this plugin. It works exactly as I expected, made my day. I wanted to offer premium content on my website and wanted it to look different from default templates without having to change the whole blog’s one.

Contrary to previous comments by Drew Jaynes, this plugin appears to allow post meta to work still on the front end in the testing I have done.
No complaints here!

Different as custom post type template in that you don’t need to create cpt templates, just use the page templates.

I was so happy to find this, and even happier that it worked so easily and so well. Excellent plugin – many thanks to the developer.

I tried the other popular Custom Post Template plugin but had to go through various loops to create a custom template for posts. I wanted a full width template for my Twenty Twelve theme.
With 20-12 there’s already a full width template and I don’t need to re-create it and then copy it to another directory. Well I tried that and thought there must be an easier way.
And I found this plugin. Easy as pie. It just add the page templates to posts. You just need to go to Settings and activate where you want it. I did not do this initially as I thought I will see the options while creating a post.
Now that I have set the settings it shows for each post and I can choose a template. Love it. Just did what I wanted with no loops.
Thanks buddy. You did a great job.

Easy to enable in Posts or Custom posts, very lightweight, multi-language ready. Works great with the custom theme I’m creating.
Some caveats acording to @DrewJaynes but couldn’t find them myself.
Great plugin in 150 lines of code. Kudos to the author.
Lets hope new versions of WP bring this functionality built in.

I’m glad to see a more straightforward approach than what you get with the Custom Post Template plugin. However, I immediately noticed that in certain situations, this renders post properties inaccessible including post meta. is_singular( 'your_pt' )
also returns false because the post_type is effectively being changed to ‘page’ when you’re pushed over to displaying the page template(s). None of these things are surprising, however, just kind of what you get when you mess with the template stack ??
