Not compatible with Multisite. A note should be added to the plugin description page saying as much. As soon as the description is updated accordingly, I’ll remove this review. ??

After trying 2 other db sync plugins that failed to work, I stumbled across this one.
Simple to install and worked perfectly. Syncing is really quick as well, easily the fastest sync tool I have used.

After two days of looking how to sync localhost and remote sites I found this great and simple solution… Works perfect!

Is this wizardry? This plugin works so seemlessly it’s amazing! I love that it pulls the ACF stuff as well which is a huge time saver. Another issue is the media uploads which this helps with as well. Simply sync up the two databases and then ftp your uploads and both db’s are in perfect lockstep!

Makes my job so much easier! Thanks.

Discovered this magnificent little tool just recently. It saves so much hassle especially when depending heavily on ACF. Thank you!

I did significant research on plugins that would sync databases between my local development server and the live one. The one that everyone raves about is really expensive – $90 a year for a basic license.
When I saw the plugin Database Sync it seemed too simple, with too few reviews/users, for it to be a viable solution. But I gave it a go. And it turns out to be the simplest tool but one that does the job perfectly. I’m so happy I’ve found it. It’s saved me a lot of money and/or hassle. Syncing databases is now, officially, easy!

This plugin will vastly improve my team’s workflow. I’m successfully running it on our WP 4.0 installs. Thanks!

This plug-in works great. But it uses the new php 5.3 style for ternary operator which in turn causes wordpress to throw an error if you try to enable it on a <5.3 installation of php. But of cource anyone with a basic knowledge of php can realize and fix the problem for himself.
I have a syggestion to author as well. Since this plugin works so great, it would be nice to make it possible to add a php file to iit than can be called from cron, and does the sync work automatically. For example I have 2 sites, one of which is a backup of the other and i use it in case of a failure in the first site. Would be nice to have the option to sync the slave, say each hour, with the master.

Hey There
Loving this plugin – no more arbitrary logging into PHP MyAdmin for simple keeping my local staging and production servers in sync – exactly what I needed.
I’ld really like to be able to set permissions with this plugin, to only allow pulls from remotes, basically so that we can set it up and allow the whole dev team to pull from the staging DB without the risk of pushing even being a possibility.
Is this possible or a future feature you have considered ?
Thanks for the greta plugin.
Kind Regards
Paul

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘:’ in /home/urihorhg/public_html/wp-content/plugins/database-sync/database-sync.php on line 36
Can Anyone help me?

I made an account just to say how good this plugin is. I was seconds away from buying WP Migrate DB Pro and am glad I didn’t. This plugin works exactly as intended and allows for very easy pushing and pulling for either instance I am running.
For those interested, locally I’m using MAMP and the standard LAMP stack on ubuntu server. I also use git and this .gitignore template to keep everything else synchronised.

I was going through hell getting my databases synced. I have my local development setup that I work on daily. I am in the process of working on about 7 sites. When I tried to export my database and then import it to my remoter server I always received an error. I think that it was my web host not letting me upload.
Database sync was so easy to set up. I added my secret key, it detected the remote server, and then I pushed my development site to my live remote server. Simple, fast.
Days were wasted technical support. All in the past now. My only question for the developer is, “where can I donate?”

I can pull a database from site, but pushing doesn’t work. Many errors.

Beta? Insecure?

This is an amazing tool for when you need to push database changes to different servers during the development process. The Database Sync plugin is by far the easiest way to do this task.
This plugin has earned a spot in my development toolkit. I will definitely be using it regularly in the future.

This worked perfectly for syncing my local machine database with my development server database.

I have been looking for this exact tool for a very long time. So far it works perfectly for me. Keeping a local copy, staging server, and a production server in sync is now so much easier.
