Really helpful plugin
A future development would be to choose what type of thumbnail to delete.
Still perfect as it is.

“14286 files successfully deleted.”
Nice!
I saw this plugin was rewritten and decided to give it some love. I really needed to clean out all my weird thumbnail sizes as my host was going to start charging me for extra storage! Now my uploads folder is squeaky clean and only has the image sizes I actually use. Yay!

When Migrating site from One Server to another, changing theme from one to another, there are lots of thumbnails file generated.
Being particular, from 2009 to 2017, I have almost 900 images which have created 15000+ thumbnails and each time I have to manually delete them and regenerated.
This plugin helped me to deleted all them with a single click. Thank You. All other media files are untouched. Even they are not in library, it just picks from Physical Server path, does its job and thats it.
Thank you.

Hi David,
I’m so Happy you made the “Bias” review because of your update.
Otherwise I would not have installed it, because of old version reviews.
In such an ease the upload folder (quite large, filled and regenerated a lot since 2013) lost 500MB of old thumbnails.
Just a few clicks. Thank you for updating!

You’re not supposed to review your own plugins, or self promote – so please consider this post bias.
The poor reviews (accurate and understandable) where true of the old version, it didn’t work well 3 years ago, it was rushed-and-forgotten project, but I’ve completely rewritten the plugin now, in Summer 2017.
The plugin is working now, and an excellent solution for WordPress dev’s looking to clear out UPLOAD directories that have thousands of unused resized images (all the images with -###-### appended to them).
A lot of themes and plugins out there use add_image_size()
to create custom thumbnails for a tiny feature of their plugin/theme. That’s great, but the problem is this isolated need for a specific size gets used for all Media Library images. Furthering the problem, if you have had two dozen themes/plugins over the years with one or two custom images sizes each, this all adds up to a very file-heavy directory.
I personally had a site that add ten resized images for every Media Library image. It adds up, and clogs things up.
Anyways, the plugin works great now. Select all images and delete, simple as that. Using the Regenerate Thumbnail plugin you can rebuild only the needed resizes images for your current theme/plugins.
Again, I’m bias, but please don’t let the reviews from 3 years ago when it was a bad plugin sway your choice to give it a try.
