Hi! This plugin is super cool. Currently, the annotations erase when the page is refreshed. Is there any way to have annotations stay permanently?
]]>Hi,
The error log is filled with the following:
WordPress database error Duplicate column name ‘note_post_ID’ for query ALTER TABLE wordpress_demon_imagenote
ADD note_post_ID
bigint(20) NOT NULL AFTER note_comment_ID
; made by do_action(‘admin_init’), WP_Hook->do_action, WP_Hook->apply_filters, dia_admin_init, dia_createtable, referer: https://localhost/wp-admin/options-general.php
I have tried to delete the demon_imagenote table and uninstall the plugin and reinstall the plugin with the same result.
Please advise.
Thank you!
]]>I just installed the latest copy of default WordPress (5.3.1) and am using the Twenty Seventeen theme. The only plugin I have activated is Demon Image Annotation which is giving me the same error as the previous user mentioned here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/please-update-the-new-version-of-settings-and-usage/
My error is:
Important: Please update the new version of settings and usage | Settings | Hide Notice
Do I need to revert to an earlier version of WP? What was the resolution to the previous user?
]]>My wordpress version is 5.1.1. I want to try Demon Image Annotation plugin but after installing it, I can’t access the setting and a notice popped up “Please update the new version of settings and usage” but when I click to the “setting” link, it brings me to a blank page. Other plugins get affected as well, I couldn’t access their setting page too, so I have no choice but disable the plugin before trying it and everything goes back to normal.
I suspect this plugin isn’t compatible with latest version (5.1.1) of WP. So by chance could you update it? Thanks
for more info, My PHP version is 7.1.28/ nginx/1.14.2
]]>Hi,
This plugin is based on the jQuery Image Annotation plugin…which doesn’t appear to be responsive and instead displays the image at a fixed size, thus making it unusable on websites that are designed to accommodate mobile phones and tablets.
Is there any prospect of that issue being addressed? I appreciate that the answer is very likely to be “no!” but there’s no harm in asking. The plugin ticks all of the boxes for what we want to do except for that one.
Many thanks,
ian.
]]>I recently found this problem which occurred when a user opening new annotation form (by clicking ‘add note’ button), while another annotation form is still opened somewhere in the same page.
various results have been witnessed while this problem is happening. one time the form wont save my annotation with a warning just like when I haven’t written anything inside the form’s massage textarea, one other time the annotation successfully saved while the other opened form popping up “saving” notification indefinitely (and seemingly cannot be closed unless the page is reloaded)
so here I am hoping for a workaround about this problem… like, maybe closing all other opened forms before opening a new one when clicking “add note” button ??
thank you.
]]>Hello,
I really like this plugin, but the hosting service that host my site upgrade to PHP7, I get the following:
Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function mysql_real_escape_string() in /var/www/wp-content/plugins/demon-image-annotation/imageannotation.php:336 Stack trace: #0 /var/www/blog/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(286): dia_admin_notice(”) #1 /var/www/blog/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(310): WP_Hook->apply_filters(false, Array) #2 /var/www/blog/wp-includes/plugin.php(453): WP_Hook->do_action(Array) #3 /var/www/blog/wp-admin/admin-header.php(255): do_action(‘admin_notices’) #4 /var/www/blog/wp-admin/admin.php(216): require_once(‘/var/www/wp-c…’) #5 {main} thrown in /var/www/wp-content/plugins/demon-image-annotation/imageannotation.php on line 336
I notified the hosting service of the issue, they stated that the plugin has deprecated code and requested that I notify the plugin developer to update the code for PHP7.
Is this an easy fix?
Thank you.
]]>Hello,
Dear Developer could you please help us?
We, at Ontario Nature, have downloaded and applied your plug-in. I am still learning to use it to apply to a specific post, but my question is:
Can you please tell me if when you mouseover the selected area, can we make the text or noted text URL/hyperlink stay instead of disappearing, or stay for longer? This would be very useful.
We would prefer if we could apply a free solution but may be able to make a donation.
Best,
ON Noah

]]>Hi,
this plugin is so close to being perfect for my needs, however I need the ability to add hyperlinks for every annotation (that go to different URLs).
Is this possible?
It would be great to have a ‘link’ button when you create a new note.
I’m desperate to get this plugin working so would be very grateful for a quick response (and resolution if this functionality isn’t available).
many many thanks, Louise

]]>I have kept “Leave it empty will treat all images as image annotation.”
But the plugin does not seem to detect images uploaded via media plugins like rtmedia, buddypress media etc.
Any solution please? Thanks a lot.

Is development on this continuing?

]]>Hi,
I am using you’re plugin over a secured HTTPS connection, and by default, browsers will not load any files that are served over a non-secured protocol.
The plugin is currently loading jQuery from the Google APIs site. I would recommend that you change the URL
https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.7/jquery.min.js
to
//ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.7/jquery.min.js
This will then call the file with the same protocol (HTTP or HTTPS) as the site it’s loaded on is using.
Thanks

]]>Without a doubt this is a wonderful plugin. But somehow, a lot of people still confused on how to use it. They don’t know what to do in the plugin settings page.
Almost 2 years since the last update, and there’s still a lot of people asking me how to make it work. So I tried to customize the plugin a little and share it at my blog. The mod trimmed a lot of the plugin options to make it easier to use and changed a bit of the front-end look.
I’m still new in coding field, so there may be a lot of mistakes in this customized-plugin. If you find any problem with it, feel free to tell me.
Last but not least, I don’t know the legal-stuff about sharing such things, so if what I’m doing actually breaks some rules, please do tell me. I will take it off as soon as possible.
Thank you.

]]>Hi there,
I’m in love with this plugin, but it’s not quite fully working.
I can add notes, but after I refresh the post, I can’t see the tag. Only the comment is left behind. It also makes the picture float left.
Is there a solution? I’m using it on a multisite network. Would that make any difference?
Many Thanks!

]]>The plugin works but annotations will not show up until I approve them in the control panel. I’d like them to show up immediately, auto-approved (since only admins post this way anyhow).

]]>Thanks for the great plugin! Even for a JS beginner like me it’s pretty easy to adapt it to my own needs. However, I can’t get the annotations to work on my homepage. It works in single posts and pages, but I would like to show the annotation as well on my blog homepage.
Do you know a workaround? Thanks a million!

I tried the Demon Image Annotation plug-in but can’t get it to work in WordPress 3.0.5 The plugin is installing and I see the admin interface, but no tagging for me…
First of all the database table isn’t being created when activating the plugin, so I added it myself. This did remove the error message on the admin page. The I tried everything in my knowledge (which is average) to get it to work, but no succes.
