Thank you for creating this extremely useful plugin.
Is it possible to show two “linked” viewers? For example, showing two images side by side and being able to scroll them at the same time? Similar to https://github.com/muschellij2/linked_viewer
Thanks
Thank you so much for the 0.10 update. The loading bar is so nice to have! I have noticed a few issues though:
Ideally, a way to choose which buttons appear would be great. As a site focusing on radiographs, I’d love the ability to hide the orientation button, the ruler, and the “user selection” dropdown menu.
2. The viewer now creates grey space around the radiograph which limits the size of the image.
Previously the radiograph would have filled the width of the viewer and scaled up the vertical dimension of the viewer to include the whole image. This also creates some weird behavior in Fullscreen mode where the image does not actually fill the whole screen vertically, and creates black bars on the top and bottom instead.
Thanks again, your work on DWV and the WordPress plugin are so appreciated!
]]>I have a problem with the plugin. At first, everything was working fine, but then this error started appearing. Can you please help me fix it?
RequestError: Error status: 503 while loading ‘https://xray-doctor.ru/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/CT-abdomen-Case-002-PORT-173.dcm’ [DicomDataLoader]
]]>This works great, thank you! My only issue is that there is no indicator that an image is loading. These are huge files (I’m getting 15-20 MB per xray) so they take awhile even on a fast connection. I’ve had people think the page that will eventually display the image is broken because there is no indication that it is loading something. I’ve tried to add this functionality myself with preloader style plugins, but they can’t seem to tell that the DICOM file is still loading and terminate the loading animation prematurely.
]]>Hi.
I was very pleased to see this plugin, but then quite disappointed I couldn’t get it to work. (I fear WordPress has got a whole lot more complicated with blocks now).
Using the classic editor plugin in WP6.1.1, I could get the toolbar to show, but not the related dicom image.
For the multislice gallery, the dcm files did not show up in the media library for the gallery option. Working backward through the wordpress database to get the ids of the dcm file, I then created the shortcode. The result was the same – toolbar with blank canvas.
I’m confident it’s not the dicom files being bad, as I can load them in other dicom applications.
I’d love to get this working…
I’m working with DICOM image sets that have been exported to .jpg. Can this plugin support this? I need to be able to scroll through image sets as depicted in your simplistic example on github.
I tested this, but got a blank viewer
[dcm src=”https://dicom.local/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/2A.jpg”%5D
I believe the keyboard shortcuts for previous/next slice (CRTL-ARROW_UP/CRTL-ARROW_DOWN) are already registered on macs for something else (mission control / window management functions). Is this the case for you too?
If so, is it possible to change these keyboard shortcuts assigned for macs to something different?
]]>Many thanks for creating this awsome plugin! I am able to display single dicom images without any problems using the “classic” blocks in wordpress 5.4. However, I am not able to insert a gallery as described in the “how to” – I am able to create a gallery and to insert it, but after that, the gallery is empty and no images are displayed. Is there a possibility to fix this problem? Many thanks!
]]>I mentioned the possibility of adding a scrollbar for laptop users here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/scroll-bar-on-laptops/. Would it be easier for you to develop the functionality to scroll up/down using keyboard up/down arrows? This would help laptop users as well.
Thanks!
]]>Hi
I’ve noticed the plugin is no longer working. Have you stopped updating it?
I would be interested to know if you are going to be updating it soon? If not do you do ad hoc work? I am looking for integrating a dicom viewer into the wordpress website of mine
Thank you

]]>Is there a way I can directly open the zip file using Dicom viewer.
]]>I am trying to upload dicom images on wp version 5.4.1 but on adding url to classic block it shows error 404. Is this an error in what I am doing if that’s not the case. Is it possible to update the plugin to support 5.4.1. Any help would be appreciated.
]]>Hi,
When DMV DICOM cases are initially loaded using AJAX they do not load with the preset sizes I’ve set in the DicomSupport.php file. When I refresh the page (or view full screen and then exit), however, the DICOM is shown in the correct size. It seem the issue is that the sizes aren’t being recognized on initial page load.
Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this issue?
Thank you!
]]>I’m finding that the newest version of the plugin is very slow to window images.
Is there any way to make it quicker to window like the older version?
Any updates in the works for the DMV WordPress plugin? Just curious as I know there always are improvements in the works for the non-wordpress viewer.
Thanks!
Scott
Thank you for continuing to update the plugin! The way my site is laid out it makes more sense to have the full-screen button above the DICOM images instead of below. Would this be easy for me to accomplish by editing the plugin code?
Thank you
]]>The media integration, ie uploading dicom files via the media library and having it create the dicom shortcode ([[dcm=””]]) seems to be broken with WordPress 5. The plugin most probably needs some work to support the new API.
Stay posted to this topic for updates!
]]>Hi
Sorry for this newbie post but I’m struggling with getting the plugin to work!
The dicom data I have saved from Carestream PACS has a number of different files in different folders. None of them have file extensions. WP doesn’t allow me to upload any of them as is. I have tried changing some of the file extensions to .dcm but can’t make that work either. Any advice would be gratefully received!
Cheers,
Graeme
Hi
I was wondering if there is anyway to get this to work with a CDN as I am finding that the dicom images are taking a long time to load.
I have tried to get it to work with the amazon CDN but found that the plugin was not able to find the images.
]]>I just recently updated to the new version. I love the new fullscreen feature and the ability to set windowing on loading! Unfortunately, however, I’m getting the following error message on many cases that I was not getting before: “Error: Cannot append a slice with different orientation”
It seems I’m only getting this error on coronal and sagittal views, not axial.
Any ideas on how I can fix this issue?
Thank you,
Scott
Hi
with the older version of this plugin i found it really useful that when an x ray was being looked at the default tool was zoom/pan. Now the default tool is window level which changes the way my website works. Is there a way to change it back to the zoom/pan being the default?
Also are their keyboard shortcuts that will enable one to choose a tool or even zoom/pan or choose a specific window?
]]>Hi,
I use wp-stateless for storing media in google cloud. All my images stored there. It also automatically store the dcm files uploaded to wp.
The problem is, when i use local server in shortcode. The dicom viewer run without problem. But when i use google cloud url for dicom file, it give me an error.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/w2eu35732dzxz2e/screens.jpg?dl=0
Can you confirm if this working wit GCloud? something about permission maybe different with image file?
It will be nice if it can play together with G Cloud.
Thanks
Hi Ivmartel!
do you have any prediction of when the plugin will be updated with the latest version of dwv (0.25 patch 2) and when will it be possible to load multiple sets of dicom images at the same time?
Regards!
Here is a list of what I am working on for those of you who are getting impatient…
I’m hoping to have all this done quite shortly, in something like a month if all goes well!
]]>Do you know if there is a way to set the default window a case should load with (such as one of the presets)? Some of my cases load with an odd window and therefore have to be manually re-windowed each time.
Thank you!

Hi,
I’ve been so impressed with this plugin! Thank you for making it. I had a localhost version of my website and using the gallery option to make scrollable images works fine.
Now I’ve gone on line I have noticed that the gallery doesnt work at all. Instead I get a a tiny blue full screen option and clicking on it then loads up the scan.
I’ve followed the instructions with regards to how to make a gallery for dicom.
Am I doing something wrong? Any help would be appreciated.
]]>Hello,
I installed the plugin a few months ago and had no problems displaying multiple images in a gallery.
Once I installed a SSL certificate, I started getting the following error on my page. No matter I tried, the error comes.
RequestError: An error occurred while downloading ‘https://www.msk-wissen.de/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/IM-0001-0047.dcm’ (http status: 0)
When I open the fullscreen mode I also receive the error.
When I remove the “s” from https and refresh the URL, the images work.
How can I get this working and keeping the SSL on my page?
]]>I have content areas of my site that are loaded using AJAX. The problem is that the gallery shortcode used by the DICOM Support is not being processed. There may not be an easy solution, but I wanted to check if you knew of a way to load the gallery shortcode in AJAX?
Thank you
]]>Hi there!
Is it possible to get metadata from a dicom file (like exiff from photos) during upload? Do you have any tipps for that
Thanks for a free plugin!

]]>When I click the “full screen” button on certain cases I get the “Request-URI Too Large” error. I’ve tried some of the potential fixes on the server side to get rid of this error without luck (for example see this link: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/2891574/how-do-i-resolve-a-http-414-request-uri-too-long-error).
Basically, the issue is when I click “full screen” for a DICOM case the URL of the full screen window is incredibly long because it includes the names of all the DICOM files in that case (each of which was very long when I uploaded them). Therefore I do not get this error when I view a single chest xray in full screen because the URL is relatively short, but I do get the error when I view a thin-slice axial CTA of the head and neck that has a ton of DICOM files/images. If there was someway to shorten the URL that is produced on the full screen page then this error would go away. I’m not sure how hard this would be for you to change? Thank you so much for your help! The users of my site love the full-screen capability when its working!
FYI, I brought this issue up before and had marked that topic as resolved because at that time I had gotten around it initially by shorting the name of the dicom files I was uploading, but I was hoping to figure out another more permanent fix because I have a lot of older cases which I would have to delete and then reupload in order for this to work because the DICOM files have longer names.
Thank you!
Scott
