Hi, thanks for the great plugin.
Following a WordPress upgrade, activating the plugin gives a debug error:
Deprecated: Function WP_User_Query was called with an argument that is deprecated since version 5.9.0! who is deprecated. Use capability instead.
Hi Robin,
Thanks for the plugin – nice work!
I would like the banner image to sit behind a transparent site header and nav. I applied a margin-top of -120px on .big-leader
It looks great on Safari but on Chrome it breaks the banner image and shows a narrow strip of the image instead. When I remove the margin-top, it jumps back into full width.
I am wondering if it has something to do with the sticky .site-header of the genesis-sample theme but I couldn’t track down how to make it work using dev tools.
If you could take a quick look and see if there is a workaround for Chrome that would be fantastic.
Many thanks,
Graham
Hi there, each time I try to set a default image for Display Featured Images I get an error “Sorry, your image is too small. The Default Featured Image must be changed to a valid, well sized image file.” This is the case even when the image is truly massive.
This has happened with multiple Studiopress themes for Genesis.
I’m utilizing a multi-site.
Also using Smush plugin.
Please advise.
I am using the myCRED plugin on my website to allow for a rewards program, and with myCRED you can typically manually adjust people’s points on the Users menu. However, the point adjustment option isn’t appearing when Display Featured Image for Genesis is activated; when the Image category shows up on the user page, it borks the Points category for some reason. Right now what I’m doing as a workaround is when I need to adjust people’s point totals, I just deactivate this plugin and reactivate it when I’m done. But is there a modification I could make to the plugin that would make them play nicely together? I don’t need an image category for the users, since I’m only using featured images on posts and not user pages. But I don’t want to fiddle with the plugin without knowing what I’m doing. No worries if this is too big of a support request for a free plugin, since I can just continue to deactivate and reactivate if needed. ?? Thank you!

Hello Robin,
Nice job! You’re a genius. I just have one question. How to do I move my image to the top most? I want it immediately next to my header. As you can see on the image attached, it has a white gap between my image and the header. Can you help me? Thank you!

Seems this was an issue with other plugins too. Any news on a fix?
Prefer Fallback Image on posts does not replace the featured image.
The features images used for the posts are far to small for the header image (I thought I could not display if too small?)
So I tried the option “Prefer Fallback Images” and selected posts.
Now they are both displayed.
How can I fix this?
Best regards, Yvonne
Hi Robin,
Thanks for the awesome plugin.
Just wondering if it’s possible to include post meta (Date, Author) over the full width image, along with the Post Title.
Many thanks,
Matt.

Hi there!
I am using random header images I have created to appear in my header sitewide, but in my News posts the small featured images I am using to display as thumbnails on my homepage are being stretched out and displayed as headers.
I have tried your filters and settings with no success. Any idea what I am doing wrong?
Thanks!
I have a post that contains an image, but it doesn’t have a Featured Image set. I would have expected no featured image to appear, but it’s picking the image from within the post and displaying it above my post. Is this expected behavior, or did I miss a setting for this?

Is there a way to “lower” the featured image? on the page? My theme (StudioPress’ Monochrome Pro) has an 80 px tall non-scrolling menu with a z-index that keeps it on top of the featured image. That’s fine, but there are times when the image has some detail at the top that I’d rather not have hidden under the nav menu.
Hi,
First of all, I love your plugin. It came recommended directly from Studiopress.
Quick question though: By default, the plugin duplicates the title onto the image, leaving me with two H1. I thought about hiding one of them with CSS but that would probably hurt SEO.
Any idea how to fix this?
Thank you so much!

Hi Robin!
I’m hoping you can help me with a responsiveness issue I’ve run into. I wanted to change the size of the overlay text, which you can see I’ve done below. Unfortunately, now the title isn’t responsive. I tried using this, but it looked really sloppy: font-size:5vw; I’m looking for nice bold font that scales down well on mobile.
Do you have a solution for me?
Thanks,
Michelle

Hello there!
I am struggling to get the featured mage to display. I’m using the Flex Pro child theme which has typically been good with every plugin I’ve thrown at it, but this one is not working properly. Could you help me troubleshoot why?
I’ve tried deactivating several plugins like “Genesis Title Toggle” and a “Automatic Featured Images from YouTube / Vimeo”, but those weren’t the cuplprit. I checked through my css for anything glaring but didn’t see anything.
Any help is appreciated!
Hi Robin, how are you?
I’ve been using the plugin for a while and I love it. Thanks
I have a little problem, as you told me once the image above title takes too long to load because it waits til all the content is loaded and then it shows up. This is good practice in web programming and I understand that. However, the result when somebody goes to one of my posts is a white screeen for about 2-3 seconds until the image above title shows up.
What about setting a rule which gives some preferences? Like loading the text first, the image above title after that, and finally the rest of the images on the post… What do you think? Could you kindly provide me with some code to do this change please?
Thank you very much!
The plugin works flawlessly, except on three posts — no image appears. The featured image sizes are all consistent (1200 x 1820) but for some reason three of my last four posts are not showing the featured image. The others work fine…
I would like to set the title width to 80% and center the title over the image. Is there a better way than adding padding on the left side?
div.big-leader .entry-title.featured-image-overlay,
div.big-leader .archive-title.featured-image-overlay {
color: blue;
max-width: 80%;
padding-left: 160px;
}
When I run the plugin, featured images work perfectly on pages but non-featured images are not working properly in the blog section posts. When I add non-featured images to the body of the post, one of them appears in the blogroll above the “More” tag, even though the images are below “More” in the post and no featured image is set. Also, if I delete the image from the post, it still appears above “More” on the blogroll.

Hello! You have a wonderful plugin- I use it all the time ?? Unfortunately, it seems to cover up the site title/logo when activated on Education Pro. Is there any way to fix this?
Hi Robin,
Thanks for releasing a fantastic plugin!
I am trying to get it to work with showcase pro theme but not having much luck.
Showcase displays featured images for posts as full header image, just behind the logo header menu.
I want the same effect for archive pages. Display the featured images in that featured area behind the logo and header menu.
Any tips and guidance is highly appreciated.
Thanks and God bless.

Hello, Robin! We have loved your Display Featured Image for Genesis plugin, but now it looks like we will need to transition our ds.lclark.edu multisite to other platforms due to lack of institutional support. Some of our students want to create a static HTML archive of their sites, and we have in past successfully used Simply Static and plan to do so again.
One limitation we have noticed is that, when an image is backstretch width and fades in (e.g., here), the Simply Static version does not display the featured image at all.
I suspect this could be fixed by adding appropriate js or other files (which Simply Static can do) to the HTML archive. If you have recommendations, please let us know and we’ll try it out! (We can be in touch with the Simply Static developer as well if need be.)
Btw, I believe the relevant code around that post linked above includes
srcset="https://i2.wp.com/ds.lclark.edu/kmezrahi/wp-content/uploads/sites/421/2017/09/Polar-Regions.jpg?w=1600&ssl=1 1600w, https://i2.wp.com/ds.lclark.edu/kmezrahi/wp-content/uploads/sites/421/2017/09/Polar-Regions.jpg?resize=300%2C225&ssl=1 300w, https://i2.wp.com/ds.lclark.edu/kmezrahi/wp-content/uploads/sites/421/2017/09/Polar-Regions.jpg?resize=768%2C576&ssl=1 768w, https://i2.wp.com/ds.lclark.edu/kmezrahi/wp-content/uploads/sites/421/2017/09/Polar-Regions.jpg?resize=1024%2C768&ssl=1 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px"
and the JS I see at top is

Sure appreciate as always!

Hi Robin
Thanks loads for your amazing plugin. I’m working on my new site and the plugin was working fine but has now stopped working ?? I’m guessing it stopped when I was testing a few other plugins (though I cant be sure) and not I cant get it back to normal. It’s displaying the featured image but it’s not making it 100%. Any advice / help would be amazing as I spent many hours trying to work it out and don’t know what to do next.
Many thanks
Will
