As of 8/30/2017, can’t find this plugin in the search results. Can you tell us where to download? What’s up?
thanks,
Crosby
I’m the developer of this plugin, a week or so ago my WordPress forum posts were (and still are) moderated (unfairly IMHO) which means I can’t instantly reply to plugin support requests.
As long as I’m moderated my responses could take up to 3 days to be checked by a moderator, before they are posted (or deleted). I can’t work with a platform (the support forum) which unfairly blocks a plugin developer from instantly supporting it’s users, so have removed my plugins from the WordPress plugin repository.
Note: There is nothing wrong with the plugin code, I requested the plugins to be removed. There is nothing wrong with the 3.0.0 version that was available via the plugin repository.
I will no longer be offering support via the forums, BUT if in the future the 3.0.0 code does have a serious issue (security issue for example) I’ll post a new thread (currently, July 2017 there’s no security issues).

]]>Hello,
I have quite a few custom post types and I want the page sidebar widget to show on these custom post types but they don’t with your plugin. I’ve tried to show the widget but to no avail. Can you assist?
Below is a page with the sidebar widget I want:
https://dev.ncpssm.org.tempdomain.com/our-issues/social-security/
This is a custom post type. Notice how the sidebar is blank.

Hi, I’ve used Display Widgets SEO Plus on several multilingual sites for some time without problems. Now I’m replacing the original Display Widgets on my other sites. The widgets show allright on static pages that I select but not on category pages. You can see it here: https://jorisvanooijen.nl/creatieve-dialoog-maakt-van-creatief-denken-een-teamsport/ , this is a static page with an header in the upper-left corner and a photo. On https://jorisvanooijen.nl/category/over-joris/ which is a category you see no header and no photo. What might cause this?
]]>After switching to WP4.8, with its new widget editor, the Display Widget fields have disappeared from all my widgets! They still appear to be displaying on the correct pages, but there is no list of pages to select from, and no option to display/not display on selected pages. The Logic field of each widget is now empty, even the ones that used to have been used. The plug-in editor says we have version 2.6 of the Display Widget plug-in (and yes, it is marked as activated). Can someone tell me how to restore this functionality?
]]>Hi,
Until Friday 23rd June 2017, I was using the Display Widget plugin on my site and after the recent WordPress update it stopped working properly.
I then found out about Display Widgets SEO Plus plugin and installed it on my site. However now, I am not able to save any of my changes when I edit the content of my widgets. Neither the text widget nor the WordPress widgets. Ex: I change some of the text in the widget, save it, and then the old content reappears.
I would like to revert to Display widget, but I deleted it and the plugin does not exist anymore. Great…
Can you please help?
Thank you.
]]>Yesterday the original Display Widgets plugin was removed from the WordPress plugin repository because the new developers first update (v2.6) automatically connects to a private server to download a GeoLocation Widget (50MB+ zip file of code that extracts directly into the Display Widget plugins directory!!!). With plugins hosted on www.ads-software.com you can not do that sort of thing!
The Display Widgets plugin was abandoned for over 2 years (no plugin updates/no support from the developer) so late last year I forked (made a copy) of the old Display Widgets code (v2.05) to create the Display Widgets SEO Plus Plugin v1.0.0.
The Display Widgets SEO Plus Plugin is a direct update/upgrade to the old Display Widgets plugin v2.05: you can get the old code from https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/display-widgets.2.05.zip although there’s small bugs/issues with the old code it’s a stable release which works for many WordPress users (was active on 200,000+ sites).
My new plugin includes various bug fixes and solutions to issues reported (see threads under https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/display-widgets/ for issues) over the past couple of years in the 2.05 code (the code which wasn’t updated for 2+ years) and adds support for the bbPress plugin, BuddyPress plugin, WPML plugin and loads of new widget logic conditions.
If you wish to switch from the Display Widgets plugin (any version) to the new Display Widgets SEO Plus Plugin simply:
Under your “Dashboard” >> “Plugins” deactivate the Display Widgets Plugin
Under your “Dashboard” >> “Plugins” >> “Add New” : Use the Search form to find the Display Widgets SEO Plus Plugin (searching for “Display Widgets” currently lits this plugin as the 1st result).
Install and activate the Display Widgets SEO Plus Plugin as you would any plugin.
That’s it, all your old Display Widget settings should** work seamlessly with the new plugin. Assuming nothing went wrong you can safely delete the old Display Widgets plugin.
** I’ve extensively tested the new plugin with the old settings (dozens of sites) and not had a single issue. As I write this the plugin has 2,000+ active installs, some will have switched from the old Display Widgets plugin and so far not had any issues reported.

]]>Hello,
Do you have a plan to add woocommerce support in the plugin?
It seems there is no possibility to assign widgets to shop / products page.
Any tips?
Hi,
When I activate your plugin it removes any classes that I have added to individual widgets using the “Widget CSS Classes” plugin here:
https://en-gb.www.ads-software.com/plugins/widget-css-classes/
Please help,
Thanks
]]>I’ve been using this plugin with great success, but it stopped functioning properly when I translated a text widget and changed it to Multilingual. I am using the core text widget that comes with WordPress. I’m using WPML to handle translation. The translated was entered using String Translations. There are no error messages. When I had the text widget set to default, Display Widgets SEO Plus displayed it correctly on the pages where it was supposed to appear. When I changed it to Multilingual Text, it began to appear on all pages. In the DW settings I changed it to “Show on Ticked” and selected the page where I want it to appear, but that made it disappear from all pages. How can I get it to appear correctly, in the correct language?
]]>This looks like a fantastic plugin, however, even though I set each widget to display on the BuddyPress pages, it does not. Under Content Types, I’ve checked “All BuddyPress Pages” and a number of other BuddyPress pages, but it still doesn’t display. Need help determining why sidebars not displaying on BuddyPress pages.
Thank you.
]]>Hi!
I was previously using the Display Widget plugin on my site and after the recent WordPress update it stopped working. I was not able to save any of my changes.
I just found out about Display Widgets SEO Plus plugin and installed it on my site. I deleted the other plugin before installing this. I am having the same issue as before. None of my changes save. Neither the text widget nor the WordPress widgets.
Can you please help?
Thank you.
]]>Hi,
I’m using this plugin to disable my widgets on all content except the frontpage. I generated my theme with TemplateToaster but unfortunately when setting up the widgets to show only on the frontpage, they won’t be shown at all. Not on the frontpage and not anywhere else. So I had to disable to plugin again and fall back to the internal WP widget restriction which does not include custom post types (which is why I used the plugin in the first place).
Is there any known way I can accomplish this?
Thanks a lot!
]]>Hi there! I know, you don’t have this option yet, but I was wondering if you are going to apply any update in the future so we can display a different widget depending on the post tags. For example, if I have 5 posts with “Barcelona” label, it would be wonderful to show always the same widget related to “Barcelona” only on those posts.
Sorry for my beginner’s English ??
Regards!

Is this possible that i enable any widget to parent page and it applied to all child pages under it automatically
]]>Plugin stop working when i select more than 500+ pages , after select 500+ pages click on SAVE button but not saving and stuck whole web
]]>I am using display widgets 2.5 on numerous sites, not too excited about needing to change that, but have started looking around. I am glad you forked this…. but
What about Pages? Currently I can pick what ever page I want to hide/show on, will this be possible in your new version DWPlus?
Dave,
I manage a website that has 4 unique custom post types and uses Display Widgets for showing content on specific custom post pages using only comma separated, custom post IDs. This approach works fine using Display Widgets.
I deactivated Display Widgets, installed and activated DWSP on the site. All the settings (custom post specific IDs) came over as needed, however the select content is not showing on the respective custom posts.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

]]>Found a small bug in version 1.1.0 in the All Archives options under “Content Types +/-” related to using inconsistent code.
I forgot a variable set to false results in true when checked with the PHP isset() function.
The All Archives options now works correctly for the following archive types:
Categories, Tags, Dated Archives, Author Archives, Custom Post Type Archives and Custom Taxonomies.
Double checked all the code and also tested in WordPress v4.7-RC1 (release candidate 1).

]]>Is it just me or is everyone unable to customise primary and secondary menu widgets,
Thanks
Hello,
I see SEO Dave took over development, glad to read.
Is there any chance to see on next updates the possibility to show or hide a widget in function of the custom role of a user (for exemple customer, shop manager..)
Many thanks
Best regards
Hi Dave,
Thanks for updating the plugin, it a plugin stuffed with features now.
I was thinking about the complexity of using this plugin and one aspect of this is the lack of a display showing for the plugin is configured for each widget.
This becomes a problem when you are returning to manage the widget months after you set it up, the only way to verify which pages the widget is going to display on is to open up each of the categories and inspect what has been configured.
It occurs to me that it would be very useful if you could see how DWSP is configured if there was a display of the elements selected when you first open up the widget.
I think this would go a long way towards improving the management of this plugin.
]]>Found a couple of bugs in version 1.0.0.
Under “Content Types +/-”
“All Archives – Page 1 Only”
“All Archives – Pages 2,3,4…”
The above two tick boxes do nothing (broken). I put the code for the two All Archives (catchall for all categories, tags, search…..) in the wrong place. Was easy to fix, will be in the v1.1.0 update.
When the WPML Language Plugin is active and Posts/Categories have been translated there’s an issue under “Categories +/-“.
In my v1.0.0 testing (localhost testing) I think I setup the language translations of my test Posts in a ‘manual’ way. I’ve since obtained a test site at https://display-widgets-seo-plus.compatibility.wpml.org/ under the WPML Go-Global Program.
Under the WPML Go-Global test site I converted a test Post using the Duplicate option (under the original Posts Edit screen) which duplicates the Post and the Categories the Post is in to the languages duplicated: note after doing this edit the new language Categories names otherwise the language duplicates have the same name as the original Category under “Categories +/-” (makes it looks like you have duplicate Categories).
After ticking Categories (under “Categories +/-“) the ticked Categories aren’t always saved (after clicking the “Save” widget button) and when the “Categories +/-” form is reopened, only Categories from one language is shown. Reloading the “Appearance” > “Widgets” page shows all the Categories again, but the ticked Categories aren’t always saved.
Have a temporary work around for when you want to select Categories from multiple languages (under “Categories +/-“) and they aren’t saving. If for example you have a German Category that when ticked isn’t saving, under “Appearance” > “Widgets” change languages to German (there’s a dropdown language flag selector in the Admin bar). When in the German language, select the German Categories you want to tick and save the widget. Repeat for other languages where a ticked Category won’t save.
The WPML Plugin modifies the default WordPress get_categories()
function so it doesn’t get all Categories: when WPML is active get_categories()
only gets the Categories from the specific language the user is under.
To create the list of ALL Categories under “Categories +/-” I temporarily disabled the WPML modification of the get_categories()
function, I guess something has gone wrong here: works when first loading a widget, but upon saving it seems to revert back to the selected language the user is viewing.
Working on a fix.
Was pretty much ready to release v1.1.0 of the Display Widgets SEO Plus Plugin when I found the above issues, v1.1.0 adds BuddyPress and bbPress plugin support. Current plan is the next update (v1.1.0) will include the new BuddyPress and bbPress support and fix the WPML ticked Categories saving issue.

]]>I’ve got a new feature request, not sure it’s appropriate to this plugin but I thought I’d run it by you.
I have a problem with Displaying different images on different pages. What I like to do is not give the image a title so that only the image is displayed. I do this with other widgets too as often you end up replicating information that is already displayed within the widget itself, I like to try and cut down on unnecessary information on my pages.
The problem this creates is it makes managing the widgets really difficult from the widgets page in that they all look the same, with no name, and finding the image that I’m displaying on a particular page means I have to drill down into each widgets settings to reveal that info.
What I would like is some way of labeling my widgets and only shows up when I’m on the Widget management page, a reminder to self. This should display when you are in the top level (unexpanded) view of the widgets, possibly alongside the name itself.
What do you think about this? I think it would make using Display Widgets an awful lot easier.
]]>Thanks for revamping this plugin. In my BuddyPress trial setup under custom post types I see that forums are listed however selecting these options do not cause the widget to be displayed o the forums pages. Is that supposed to work?
]]>Thanks for going forth with Display Widgets which has not advanced since 4.3.6
Does this plugin use the same settings as Display Widgets or will they have to be converted?
